If you set the stroke width for a layer first that has a “None” stroke color applied and then set the stroke color, the stroke width is not acknowledged. If you deselect and select the layer again the stroke width is even reset to the default value that was set before the change. All the best, René

After calibrating my pose (which looks ok – though the arms could still hang a little more), I have to walk to the computer to initiate recording. After getting back to my position to act the wrists are higher now than when calibrating the tracker. Is this a problem leaving my tracking position? I marked the spot well, so I should be in the right place.

The slower rendering on my side was with the Metal option (2018 MacBook Pro) turned on an that was almost 1 minute slower compared to my first test (17:36 vs 18:29). If I find the time I will render both versions CPU and GPU with a freshly started machine. CPU for other apps was set to 0%.

I also made that observation that it rendered a bit slower than in the beginning but on the other hand now the start up time is much shorter which probably makes the whole process faster in total.

@JohnColombo yes I could share the clip as it has hard cuts in my opinion that are not recognized. Which e-mail address should I send it to as the clip should not be seen by the public. I think it would be good for users to get a note by AE that no cuts could be detected in the analyzed video instead of getting no feedback at all after the analysis. Especially for longer clips if you leave your workplace and come back and seemingly nothing has happened.

@Joy Raisinghani my first test resulted in several difficulties. When scrubbing in the new version I get an “Unknown Error” before being able to scrub properly. Maybe due to the MFR initiation. Then trying to track a rather simple patch the track aborts prematurely. No problems in AE 17.7.0. I will send a screen capture video and a link zo the project file to the provided e-mail address.

@jenkmeister This is such a great feature and the current options in the Preview Panel are helpful. Thank you! Will this only Cache to RAM or also to Disk Cache (I use a fast SSD)? Would it be possible to get some info in the Preview Panel how much of the available Cache is already used up? Trying it out right now on an effects heavy project.

I rendered a longer project (about 11 minutes) where I can still see the time gains in rendering but the CPU was only working at approximately 50% capacity with the Multi-Frame-Rendering – see screenshots below. What could be the reason for just running at half the capacity? This error message showed up when starting Effects 18.3.x11 for the first time after installation via double click on an AE file (macOS Big Sur 11.3.1) Before that there was a message claiming that the “Required Folder” ist missing. Subsequent launches via the Dock showed no problem.

AEPulseBenchmark AE Beta 18.2.0 (Build 17): Hardware: MacBook Pro (15 Inch, 2018) OS: MacOS Big Sur 11.2.3 CPU: 2,9 GHz Intel 6-Core i9 RAM: 32 GB 2400 MHz DDR4 GPU: Radeon Pro 560X 4096 MB | Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB Mercury Software Single-Core: 25 min 15 sec Multi-Core: 20 min 25 sec Metal Multi-Core: 17 min 36 sec The startup time is much much shorter compared to AE v 18.0.x. Single core is 28 seconds slower than im my test in February. Multi-Core Mercury Software improved by 2 seconds. No error with Metal now and significantly faster by 2 min 49 sec.

@jenkmeister First of all thank you for the great interview with Puget and explaining indepth how it works and what AE users can expect. Maybe this will be obsolete once all effects are ported to Multi Frame Rendering but as there are also a lot of 3rd party effects that will take some time to be adjusted it might be helpful to get a different warning icon in the Effects Panel if the effect does not support MFR. This would help to identify possible MFR slowdowns immediately. At the moment it is the same icon like when getting a warning about bit depth. A different color would already do …

@Jeff Almasol I installed the new version and after the first launch I could not push a single button or execute any menu commands. I quit and restarted. Then AE launched quite fast with around 8 seconds launch time, every time I tried. Everything was responsive as well. Thank you for getting this fixed!

When switching a layer to 3D and activating Draft 3D with the ground plane visible the ground plane does not show if I just dolly away from my object. Switching to a custom view shows the ground plane but orbiting around make the ground plane vanish at certain angles of the orbit tool (see screen capture and screenshots). Is this behavior intended? I also got a warning message once while working with the camera tools (see screenshot) which resulted in my layer being deleted by AE. Unfortunately I cannot attach the files as several menu commands and short cuts do not work (Save as…, Import file…) please see separate screen capture.

Unfortunately I could not reproduce it so far but sometimes it takes long (or at least the blue dashed line appears for a long time) to switch to C4D renderer. I saw another issue with the ground plane but post this seperately.
