I am familiar with the function behind the three dots to fix the position. But Photoshop keeps moving the position. There is no video, only screenshots. I open an image and the position is shifted again. The height remains the same as I selected it, but it keeps being moved to the left. It can happen that the taskbar stays in the same position for some images that are newly opened, but it can also happen that when a new image is opened, the taskbar is suddenly shifted to the left. Yesterday I fixed the position of the taskbar again - this morning when I opened the first picture it was moved to the left again and covered part of the options bar. Screenshot: The top image shows the fixed position. The lower image shows the position after opening a new image.

Moinsen zusammen.

The problem here is that Photoshop writes two different save options when creating two actions despite the exact same procedure. One time PS writes the file name in the save function, the other time not. As I said, in both cases I proceeded in exactly the same way to check where the error is. The batch function is also not useful for me in this case, as I define the section of the images after opening them and only then should the other actions be executed.

The screenshot shows two actions that have both been created in exactly the same way. The first action "Portraits webseite" was created a few days ago and causes all images to always be saved with the same name and thus overwritten. The second action "Test Aktion" was created the day before yesterday and works as it should and as you would expect from Photoshop. As I said, it makes absolutely no sense for an action to always write the same file name. It is german. "Speichern" means saving, "schließen" means closing.

The context-sensitive taskbar does not stay pinned. With the penultimate update of Photoshop, the context-sensitive taskbar can no longer be pinned properly. I drag the context-sensitive taskbar to the options bar because it bothers me the least there. Until the penultimate update, it remained pinned there. For some time now, it has remained above the options bar, but it keeps slipping to the left and then covers control panels in the options bar. By "pinning", as one could actually do with the context-sensitive taskbar, I obviously understand something different than the guys at Adobe. And once again I ask myself why functions that actually work well have to be changed again and again without any meaningful necessity in order to annoy long-time users. I updated to 25.7.0 today in the hope that the taskbar will remain in its fixed location. But the problem is still annoying

The problem is Adobe! Finally understanding this would perhaps lead to a solution by Adobe. I edited several images yesterday and set an action to save to a different folder. Each image overwrote the previous one. And it didn't matter if the file name was selected or not when saving to the action. The procedure was as follows: Open the image Specify a section and confirm the selection -- Start action recording Mode: 8 bit Convert to profile sRGB Save to another folder Close --- End action recording --- The file name was not changed when the action was recorded. It is highlighted when the save dialog is called up. The highlighting disappears when the target folder is selected. Nevertheless, all images were saved with the same file name. However, it makes no sense if all images are saved with the same file name. This result must therefore be regarded as a clear error, and I am not familiar with this from previous years. I recently noticed that PS reacts differently from day to day. The same action, the same procedure leads to a completely different result today. The same steps as described above now produce an action that works exactly as it should. And it doesn't matter whether the file name is selected or not when saving the action! I have tested both.

The file name is transferred to the action even if it is not marked. Adobe has simply messed up again here.

I have also updated to Sonoma 14.2 and installed the latest updates for InDesign and Photoshop. The problems in InDesign (flashing screen) and Photoshop (incorrect image display) have not been resolved. Apparently we don't pay enough money for this software junk that the guys at Adobe don't finally get to work and fix these annoying bugs. I really wonder why I should put myself through this hassle any longer. There has been enough time to fix the bugs.

It is now November 2023 and this annoying problem has still not been solved. This week's update has even exacerbated the problem. Now parts of the document are completely hidden when you try to select text. You have to hide the rulers to be able to work at all. But we need the rulers!!! Jesus Christ, what are those guys at Adobe actually doing?

Another thing: I did not have write permission for the com.adobe.dunamis folder. If I completely uninstall the suite and then reinstall it, I assume that the rights are correctly assigned by the Adobe installer. This was obviously not the case here.

I think I have found the problem and solved it. The com.adobe.dunamis folder in my user account > library > application support was empty. As I already wrote, I had started Photoshop 24.1 in another user account and tested it. In this user account, Photoshop had created several subfolders in the com.adobe.dunamis folder and written data. In my user account, as I said, this folder remained empty. I now simply copied the subfolders from com.adobe.dunamis from the other user account into my user account. And voila: now the libraries are there in Photoshop and the Neural Filters can be called up without Photoshop crashing. Why Photoshop 24.1. did not write any data to my user account in the com.adobe.dunamis folder remains a mystery to me. As a user who installs and starts the software, you have no influence on this.

I have tried all the suggested approaches. Unfortunately, this does not help. However, I have found out that the conflict is related to a file called FMCache.psp. It is located in the user folder > Library > Preferences > Adobe Photoshop 2023 Settings. If I delete this file and then restart Photoshop, I can click on the Neural Filters without PS crashing. When PS is closed, PS rewrites this file. Afterwards, I cannot click on the Neural Filters without PS crashing. I have tried this with all other files in Adobe Photoshop 2023 Settings. Deleted each one individually, restarted PS, etc ... The problem only ever occurs when PS writes this file (FMCache.psp) on exit. The question now is what this file does and in what context it could be related to another file to cause this conflict. When I open the file with TextEdit and compare it with the file of the same name from Photoshop 2022, the entries differ. This is the result when I log in with a fresh virgin user account. Neural Filters is always greyed out and only becomes visible and can be used when I click on any other tool or go into any menu and select a menu item there. When PS is closed and then restarted, Neural Filters are greyed out again, but can be used after clicking on any tool. (See above) But PS does not crash when using the Neural Filters. This raises the question for me of where Photoshop stores data that is apparently not deleted when the Cleaner Tool is used. As I understand it, some settings collide with each other here. Before I recreate my entire user account, which would be an enormous amount of work, I would like to try to find hidden files that are causing the conflict. Apparently, however, the neural filters do not work as they should even with a fresh user account and are always first displayed greyed out.

Unfortunately, none of this helps. I know where to find the presets and my libraries folder. If I select in PS preferences to delete the presets when I exit PS and then restart PS, the Neural Filters work. If I then exit PS and restart it again, PS crashes right away when I click on the Neural Filters. So it seems that PS works with fresh, untouched presets and overwrites the presets on exit. After that, I can no longer use the Neural Filters. I had already used the Adobe Cleaner Tool and reinstalled PS. And in doing so, I did not have the old presets installed. And even then, when I first started it, without changing anything in the presets, the Neural Filters worked. After quitting PS and also without changing anything in the presets, the Neural Filters were not usable after the next restart of PS.

As the title says, Photoshop crashes immediately when I try to select Neural Filters from the filter menu. In PS 23.5.3, the filters work flawlessly. In 24.1 they immediately cause a crash. I have already tried all the suggestions posted on the forums. No solution. Also the suggestions from Adobe - disable PS preferences GPU performance, etc. do not bring any solution.

Yes, I did that, but unfortunately it doesn't solve the problem. For the sake of clarity, from now on it will only be about Neural Filters. They keep crashing immediately in 24.1 when I select them from the menu.

Maybe I explained it in a misleading way, but it is not only that the libraries are missing in 24.1, but the menu item "Libraries" is missing in the "Window" menu. So I can't select the "Libraries" work palette in the "Window" menu at all. No, I do not save any data to the adobe cloud. It is all stored locally. PS 23.5.3 has no problems to find the libraries.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas holiday. I'm not sure I understand you correctly. Which libraries? Well, the libraries that you can create yourself in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. You can generally find them in the menu under : Windows In the German version they are called Bibiotheken, in the English version libraries. I have now reinstalled Creative Suite again, but the result is the same as before: In PS 23.5.3 the libraries are there and neural filters work. In PS 24.1 the libraries are missing and PS crashes immediately when clicking on Neural Filters. When I open PS 24.1 with Rosetta, the libraries are there but PS crashes when I click on Neural Filters. I uninstalled Rosetta to test if it affects the result. But it doesn't help either. The problems with 24.1 remain, but there are also some in 23.5.3, so I reinstalled Rosetta. PS 23.5.3 works. I still find it strange that PS 24.1 starts without problems the first time after installing Creative Suite. So the libraries are there and neural filters work. If PS is quit and later restarted, the problem is as described above.

I have now again deleted everything that has to do with Photoshop. Then I installed only Photoshop 24.1. So there is no other Photoshop installation. And now I know why I could write recently that Photoshop finally works correctly and without errors. The point is: When I open Photoshop for the first time after installation, the libraries appear and the filters also work. I can arrange the individual working palettes or leave them as Photoshop shows them to me. The fact is, the libraries are there. If I quit Photoshop without further image processing and open it again right after, the libraries are gone and when I click on the Neural filters, Photoshop crashes.

Reinstalling the system costs me a lot of time, since everything else has to be reinstalled as well. By the way, since I've only had the computer for two months, the system is a fresh install. But I also wonder where the logic is, if it should be a problem with the hardware or the OS, because the PS version 23.5.3 works. That in the 24.1 the libraries are missing should be due to a problem with the system? When PS is started with Rosetta, the libraries appear. Couldn't it rather be that Adobe's customization on the M1 doesn't work cleanly? Ok, maybe I'll do another clean reinstall. I have already sent a crash log to Adobe again. Am curious what the answer will be.

@ thedigitaldog The reason I had 24.0.1 installed is that the Creative Cloud app showed me this as the current version and did not offer an update. I'm relying on what the Creative Cloud app is showing me. >>You told us you were on Mac OS, what's up with "recycle bin", you are now on Windows?<< No, this is a translation fail. I don't want to torture anyone here with my bad English, so I write this into a translation program. I check and correct afterwards, but due to time constraints I do it only superficially. Just this morning I saw that a new PS update was issued overnight: 24.1. This did not show up for me in the Creative Cloud app, but only appeared after I searched in PS > Help > Updates. And now it works. I can even uncheck "Open with Rosetta" and have my libraries back. Neural Filters work and PS no longer crashes on exit either. I hope it stays that way now. On this occasion, I would actually be interested to know when version 24.1 was released. Until this morning it was not shown to me. I am in Europe.

It's starting to get fun. Or not. Photoshop 23.5.3 contains the libraries. Photoshop 24.0.1 shows no libraries. They are missing from the "Window" menu. But if I navigate to Photoshop App 24.0.1 in the Applications folder, click on it with cmd i, and then check "Open with Rosetta", the libraries subsequently appear. In Photoshop 23.5.3, there is no check mark for "Open with Rosetta", but the libraries appear anyway. Does this mean I can only use the libraries in PS 24.0.1 if I open the app in Rosetta? But I can use 23.5.3 completely without Rosetta? This does not affect the neural filter issue in 24.0.1. I cannot use them.

I have now deleted the entire Creative Suite using the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool.app. Everything else left over, settings files, preferences, etc. that were left over from Adobe's programs, I deleted by hand. Recycle Bin deleted. Restarted computer. Then I reinstalled the Creative Suite. Photoshop 24.0.1 continues to crash immediately when neural filters is clicked. Photoshop 23.5.3 does not crash when neural filters is clicked. The computer's operating system has now been tested several times with various tools. There are no problems here.
