I'm on a mac and before I open larger files I switch from column view to list view and then double click the file to open and it opens as it should. If I open it in column view I get a read-only file.

Finally worked. Reinstalled without saving old preferences, changing the privacy and security settings, trying the InDesign reveal in Bridge...none of these worked. Last thing I tried was to hold down command option shift when Bridge was launching and purging the cache and resetting preferences and now Bridge runs again without getting the error dialogue box.

None of the steps mentioned are working for me. I even tried going back a few versions, not importing old preferences, etc. I just can't run this program.

I have the same problem with InDesign files opening as Read Only files. None of the "tips" resolve the issue. It's very disruptive to my workflow and frustrating. Not sure why Adobe isn't putting more effort into resolving the issue as it's clearly a widespread problem for many users. I remember when Quark, who once was the industry standard, didn't put the effort into their software that customers expected and eventually something else came along (InDesign) and everyone jumped shipped. Waiting for either Adobe to fix the problem or something better to come along...whichever one comes first.

I've updated the app. Same thing. This program is completely unusable. Give us the option of installing older versions (that work!) like we have with the other Adobe apps while you fix this mess.

I'm just trying to view a document in Acrobat. It's completely unusable now. Don't have time for this and I'm going to stop using Acrobat and view the documents in another program. See attached video. The screen and images flicker continuously and it's extremely slow. The image doesn't start coming in until the 12 second mark.

I am experiencing the same issue on an imac. Acrobat flickers, covers areas with white rectangles and very slow. Unworkable. So regreting having "Automatically install updates" turned on. It was fine before it updated.

I used the regular apostrophe keystroke on the keyboard and replaced it using "Straight single quotation mark (apostrophe)" in the InDesign find and replace option.

Just to be clear for anyone following, the list was originally done in InDesign which I export as a .txt file and import the .txt file into Bridge.

That's it! Problem solved. My list is in InDesign. I replaced all the "single quote" apostrophes with "Straight single quotation mark (apostrophe)" option and the list imports correctly and fully in both versions of Bridge. Thanks everyone!

I've discoverd that apostrophes were a problem in Bridge vs 12.0.3.270. Although the list fully imported the apostrophes were replaced with a special character. In the picture below it should read Barrow's Goldeneye but if you look you can see the special character that's been inserted.

I just reinstalled Adobe Bridge. The version is 13.02.636. The problem with the full list not being imported still existed when I tested it. I had a look through my list and have discovered the reason for the list getting truncated and not fully importing. I removed the first apostrophe I saw in the list and reimported. The list imported up until the next apostrophe. I then did a search and replace and removed all the apostophes and then imported the list and this time the full list imported. So the issue seems to be apostrophes. My list is species list so the apostrophes (correct spellings) are required. I'll have to stick with the previous version of Bridge until this is resolved. I won't upload the list as you should be able to reproduce this by adding apostrophes but if you still need it I can shorten the list.

The file is proprietary so I'm not permitted to post the file but I can tell you the file is formatted as a .txt file. The keywords contain sub keywords and it is formatted this way: keyword (end paragraph), (tab) keyword (end paragraph), (tab, tab) keyword (end paragraph). It works perfectly fine in Bridge 2022. I deleted the list in both 2022 and 2023 and reimported it to both. End result is it works fine in 2022 and in 2023 the list gets truncated to only the first few lines. Interestingly, when I'm importing the list in 2023 the preview shows the entire list but it doesn't import it. I have uninstalled 2023 and will use 2022 until the bugs are resolved.

My keywords .txt file doesn't import properly in Bridge 2023. The same text file imports correctly in Bridge 2022. In Bridge 2023, only 4 lines of 359 lines in the keywords list gets imported. Running Mac OS 12.6.

When using the keyboard shortcut to invoke the command "rotate 180" it makes a duplicate of the object when rotating. If I choose the Object>Transform>Rotate 180 instead of using the keyboard shortcut it correctly rotates the object without making a duplicate. Having to delete the other copy takes more time and defeats the purpose of assigning a keyboard shortcut. Any solutions or suggestions? Running an Imac 2019, MacOS Mojave vs 10.14.6 with the latest edition of InDesign vs 15.1.1.

Adobe Acrobat Synchronizer is listed in my login items on mac os (10.14.4). My computer is not shutting down at night...getting the white spinning wheel which goes all night. Apple believes it's something in my login items that is preventing the shutdown. The only thing left in my login items is Adobe Acrobat Synchronizer. Can I remove this from my login items and still have Acrobat run as expected? (All my software is up-to-date.)

Laubender I went to gather the files to post for testing and the issue no longer occurred and then I remembered I updated all my Adobe apps this morning as their was a notification to do so...I was up-to-date before todays release. Anyway, the problem did not occur in the problematic files. I'll be working in some files that are CS5 next week and converting them to CC19 and will watch to see if the scaling error occurs again. We are a map company so scale is extremely important. I'll update this post next week.

So far the following method seems to be working. I won't know for sure until we start converting more of our CS5 files. 1. open the CS5 doc in CC19 2. export as idml 3. open is CS5 and relink 4. export from CS5 as idml 5. open in CC19 and save 6. relinks fine after this point when the link is modified I'm going to have to test this with our multipage files but it worked with the single page document for testing purposes.

#1 the image relinks fine #2 the image relinks fine #3 and the image still scaled when relinked Since that didn't work I did seem to find a convoluted method that worked for this document. (note it didn't work when I exported as idml from CS5 first to avoid the first step below) 1. open the CS5 doc in CC19 2. export as idml 3. open is CS5 and relink 4. export from CS5 as idml 5. open in CC19 and save 6. relinks fine after this point when the link is modified I'm going to have to test this with our multipage files but it worked with the single page document for testing purposes.

Resetting preferences didn't work. The same thing is happening to my coworker. He's on a PC, I'm on a Mac. We just upgraded from CS5 to CC 2019 so the InDesign files are converted from CS5. No problem in CS5...only once we bring it into the newest version of InDesign.

Images are being rescaled when relinking files. I’ve checked my preferences and Make Content-Aware Fit the default frame fitting option is turned off and in File Handling, Preserve Image Dimensions When Relinking is checked on. I've checked the original pdf dimensions against the new ones and they are all the same dimensions. I've checked the individual frame options as well and that is fine. Any suggestions on this?
