Sure wish I could create a poll for this, but anyway...

Doesn't matter whether I have the customizing scripts enabled or not...GreaseMonkey and/or the Stylish add-on enabled or disabled. I turn AdBlock off or leave it on. Browser cache cleared, or loaded up with common AdobeForums elements.

Connecting with a robust Comcast cable connection, usually testing at about 6100 kbps for download speeds.

Most thread index pages take on average anywhere from 28 - 34 seconds to completely load for me.

A thread with no replies maybe 10 - 12 seconds.

Is anyone getting significantly faster speeds on similar connections?

Watch turkeys. See my profile. Of course when I took that shot, I had to process it on my laptop that I carry along so I can have a real computer.

Right now, I'm the main switchboard person for Cardinal Health Neurocare (Summary quote: Cardinal Health NeuroCare develops, manufactures and markets neurological and neurodiagnostic monitoring products, vascular monitoring products and hearing screening products.) There isn't much that I have to do on that machine... which is why there isn't a real one there. Some stuff in Word or Excel or whatever and a few things on the 'net.

But, mostly, I do the last line in the job description... other duties as may be assigned. And why I keep camera and laptop handy. The marketing director is tickled to have me on tap for overflow stuff.

Things slow way down when I push a machine to do more then it really wants to do. Particularly the one they have me using at work, which only has 256 mg ram. I don't care that it's on a fast connection... it it doesn't have enough processing power, so it's going to be slow. I would like to see them tweak whatever it is that needs tweaking so the forums don't suck the life out of processors. People shouldn't have to have high end machines to use the Adobe forums.

Intel Core 2 Duo @ 1.83 GHz, 2.00GB, Windows Vista Home Premium, 10 MB cable connection. I know that the new forums aren't affecting everyone the same way but, do you mean I'm pushing my equipment too far and therefore I should be upgrading everything so that these forums (and these forums only) do not slow things down?

Pity the thought that you actually might do something constructive other than complain. Hopefully you're not using IE 6.

Yes, it would be a pity ... if it were true, and I was the only one who has complained in this thread.

Well, I was reasonably sure your comment doesn't apply to anything I have written here. Thanks for the clarification.

I'd post my loading time but the batteries in my stopwatch died while I was waiting for the page to load.
