how or where do we report this? we have 5 pages of this post in the Illustrator forum
http://forums.adobe.com/community/illustrator/illustrator_general?view=discussions#/
Carlos, there are two ways, that are complementary:
1. When you open one of those messages, go to the Actions sidebar, click on the Report Abuse button
and follow the easy instructions. As soon as a mod sees your report, that specific message will be deleted (as well as any similar ones the mod may notice at the time).
2. Open the profile of the author of the message, and copy his URL from the bar at the top of your browser:
Then go to the Spam report thread,

and post there the offender's URL. This will allow furum-admin to ban the offender even if the message(s) have already been deleted by a mod.

Carlos,
What Claudio said, except that in this case I believe it is better to link to the thread because of the seemingly endless number of screen names/accounts.
The Spam thread is probably the better, and more manageable option here.
In any case, hi Carlos, hi Claudio.

Hi, Jacob, I did not notice your message when I posted my last one.

Thank you very much for coming to our rescue, Claudio.
All is well now.

The flood of spam that hit the site over the past 12 hours has now stopped and we're working hard to remove the fake accounts (over 1000 of them...). It will take a short while longer to clear up all the messages.
Please don't bother reporting any more posts - we know about them already.
Apologies to anyone whose use of the site has been affected, and of course you should NOT follow the link in the spammer's messages

Good to know that, Dave. I don't envy you guys trying to delete all those messages and eliminate all those acounts. I think I had never witnessed such an explosively massive and heavy attack.

Thanks to Dave, Jacob, and all the other moderators who -- as always -- volunteer their time to make these forums a better place for everyone.
I really appreciate it!

Warmest thanks to all of those who did the miracle in such a short time.
If we ever experience a similar massive attack, couldn't some of us plain participants be granted temporary and limited powers to collaborate in the cleanup?

There's usually a moderator floating about 24/7 as we have people scattered through the timezones; but it's Holiday season so allowance must be made for the effects of turkey and fruitcake (often mixed, which is never the best idea).

Thank you very much Dave, and any other moderator that may have taken part in saving us this time.
the effects of turkey and fruitcake (often mixed, which is never the best idea)
I believe the effects of the mixture are worst when the poster is the fruitcake.

He/she could be the turkey .

Turkey Uck!
We had Fresh Ham. And OrangeSlice Candy Cake or fresh Coconut Cake. The only thing Fruit case is good for is to use as a doorstop.

Carlos, I have just done both things, but it won't hurt if you do them again...

I am afraid we have a renewed attack.

thanks guys for such amazing job, I'm back to see the first flood was deleted and as Jacob said there's a new one coming in.
Dave, how is the deletion handled? just curious, is it manual or do we have crew bots fighting spamming bots?

I can only imagine they're trying to get that stupid website boosted in Google's rankings - probably for pay.
Someone needs to find and post the street address of these idiots.

We know where the spam is coming from and it's being handled, can't say more than that.
Again, apologies for the inconvenience caused to those trying to use the forums.
