Hi there!Windows 10, a ton of fonts.I need to know which ones of them contain the character »LATIN CAPITAL LETTER SHARP S«, looking like this: ẞ. Is there any way of searching them to prompt me with only the names of those containing that glyph? Other than checking one by one with InDesign, that is 😉Thanks –Klaus
I would like to use the Indiana Jones themed font in a video I'm making in After Effects CS6. None of the online fonts will allow me to color the words correctly. Is there an adobe program that can help and what's my best shot for importing into after effects ? Thanks
I'm trying to add a font using Typekit. My goal is to add a font to use in Adobe InDesign to create a published and printed hardcover book. However, Typekit requires me to add the font to my kit - and the kit requires me to supply a domain name -- which indicates that I'm setting this up for a website, not a book!I must be missing something here. Can anyone point me in the right direction how to add a font to InDesign? The one in particular is called Lint McCree. Many thanks!
I found that Adobe Type 1 fonts are not compatible with applications that run on Windows 8 64bit. When used, the appearance of fonts on the screen is not correct. Even worse, the font does not appear at all in the CorelDRAW X6. Strangely, when printed, the fonts were no problems. How can I make these fonts can be used in Windows 8 64bit? For additional information, these fonts appear normally when reviewed through the Windows Fonts folder, but does not display correctly when used in the application.
Hi,I produced some design and packaging work for a client in which various forms of Myriad Pro were used for the text. I now no longer work for this client and they are now demanding the Master files for them to edit- from the research I have done it seems if I give them the master files I would be distributing the font (Myriad Pro) which is illegal. Is there a way I can give them the files? If they purchase the correct license for Myriad Pro can I then give them the files or is that still distributing the font? I have offered to outline the font and give them the files but they are not interested in that. I am under no obligation to give them the master files but they are getting quite pushy about it and I would rather just give them the files and not have the stress but I want to make sure I'm not in breach of any licensing and doing it all correctly. Please help!
I purchased Minion Pro (OpenType) last night. I’m working in Microsoft Word 2010 on Windows 7 64-bit. When I go into the Font dialog and tap on the Advance tab, all of the Open Type Features dropdown lists are grey and disabled. Deleted the font and then reinstalled it. Same results. For some other fonts (e.g., Adobe Garamond Pro and Caslon Pro) the Open Type Features dropdown lists are enabled. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help.-r
Hello, I am in need of clarification with core fonts afm licensing.Specifically, the current readme says:"This file and the 14 PostScript(R) AFM files it accompanies may be used, copied, and distributed for any purpose and without charge, with or without modification,"this is almost an ISC licence. That one says:"Permission to use, copy, modify and distribute this software for any purpose with or without fee..."I'm pretty sure the difference is accidental. I'm not talking about the font itself, but only about the font metrics file.It would be cool if the core afm could be made available under a more permissive licence. Most specifically, this would allow using them in OpenBSD-based software products, including mandoc.Currently, this is blocking the generation of PostScript/Pdf without proper kerning, thus leading to the impression that those core fonts look bad.So I'm looking to talk to whoever is in charge of this at Adobe to clarify the situation.Note that I'm not talking about t
Hi everyone, I have been having issues with a couple of fonts for a while and have tried different ways to fix it (printing from a PDF, validating fonts, exporting save for web, etc). The main problem is with Avenir. It never looks fully "crisp" or "clear" (hope that makes sense). I use it for a lot of design stuff, both print and digital, and I feel it never displays correctly. I have attached a screenshot of how it looks in photoshop. It might be my eyes playing tricks on me, but I'm sure Avenir looks clearer on Word or on other computers (ie, my home laptop). Any advice would be much appreciated.
Hello, I'm wondering about the font sizes. I've designed a website and the programmer has taken over the font sizes, but on the website they look much bigger than in my design. Welche Which font unit does xd use? Px or maybe pt? Or maybe you have another idea why it could be?
So I downloaded a font I liked on behance but now I cant figure out how to use it in Photoshop. Please help
I've been looking for a suitable font for my thesis and Adobe Caslon Pro seems appropriate to me.I've been experiencing some issues though, when typing into Windows Word 2016. I need to type some accented uppercase letters, and Word won't let me use Adobe Caslon and will switch to some other font instead. Checked randomly into Illustrator and uppercase letters (È, À, etc.) do exist. Will I need to give it up?
I find this new type technology wonderful, and expected it with curiosity. But there are some oddities that I'm wondering about. As you probably know, Windows 10 Creators fall update supports variable fonts.Microsoft delivered the Bahnschrift.ttf as an example font with one axis for width. This font is installed in the Windows/Fonts folder. It is displayed and with full functinality usable in Illustrator 2018 and Photoshop 2018.In older programms (including down to 1998!) you at least see and can use the 5 variation steps. The new Adobe fonts are hidden in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CC 2018\Support Files\Required\Fonts. They can't be installed in the fonts folder of Windows, they are rejected as invalid font files. Therefore they are visible and usable in Illustrator and Photoshop only. Now for DECOVAR font.I installed it in Windows/Fonts.In Illustrator all goes well but Photoshop crashes when just the mouse pointer touches the font name in the font list. The older programs see
Any knows if it is possible to buy entire Trajan Pro for offline use?
I've used Sabon for many years for my correspondence. Beautiful, elegant font. More readable than Adobe Garamond for normal correspondence.Recently bought a new 2017 iMac running 10.12.6 and Pages 6.2. Sabon shows up perfectly in my documents, but it won't print. It prints some klugy san serif that isn't even proportionally letterspaced. Awful, ugly stuff. I've used Sabon for decades. All worked well up until new computer. Worked perfectly up until 10.11.4 and Pages 5.6.2. My Sabon fonts are Postscript Type 1 fonts gotten from Adobe years ago (1989). Any help?? Do I need a newer or different version of Sabon? It's ironic that I can copy and paste into a Word document and it prints beautifully. But if I write it in Word it prints the san serif crap. Makes no difference which printer I use, HP laser of Epson 2200.
Hello -- I am puzzling over an InDesign typography question that I hope someone can help me with. I am doing section titles in all-caps. I find three ways to make capital letters and they vary slightly in appearance:1) Type with caps lock on.2) Type with caps lock on and TT selected3) Type with caps lock off and TT selectedWhich is correct, meaning which way did the type designer intend it to be? I’m using Arno by Robert Slimbach. Thanks for your help.
We have recently become aware of an anomaly that was introduced with the Windows 10 Creators Update affecting fonts that are installed via “shortcut.”Most fonts are either installed by the operating system or applications directly into the C:\Windows\Fonts directory and users can install fonts into that directory by right-clicking on a font and selecting “Install.” However, Windows also offers the option to install a font but keeping the font file itself in some other location in the file system. This option is invoked by right-clicking on the font file and selecting the “Install as Shortcut” option. (Many of us use such “Shortcut” installation of fonts as a means of disciplined housekeeping for large numbers of fonts and font families!)The anomaly is that after powering up / rebooting your system, fonts installed via “Shortcut” won't appear either in the Fonts Control Panel or in applications' font lists.By simply rebooting your system, those installed by “Shortcut” fonts will reappea

Is this font correct: AA102+ArialBold (embedded subset). We have file containing theses kinds of fonts, and it cause issues in our internal system. Due to the "+" sign.I can't join the file itself since it contains our client personal data. So here's a screen-shot.I don't find any documentation about font naming convention or characters to avoid in font name.I'd like to know if this font is correct or not. And if this is a usual thing to find theses kind of fonts naming.Tank you.
Hey everyone I am having quite a few issues with this font. I need this font font the web. The line-height is completely screwed up. There is too much space on the bottom compared to the top. And I have no idea how to fix this. Second I am creating a logo with this font in illustrator and when I expand it and save it as an svg the letters are completed screwed up as well. This is how to logo looks when expanding and exporting as svg. When expanded in illustrator and looking at it, it looks completely fine but when I open the file it looks like this If you look at the blue highlight you can see the line-height on this font. There should be a even amount of space from the top to bottom. and you can clearly see it's not
Windows 10 64 bit; Adobe CC 2018; Extensis Suitcase Fusion 8.0Can anyone recommend a font manager that supports auto-activation, like the Suitcase Fusion program does? I've been using SF since version 4 for Windows and with the past few releases I dislike the interface more and more. I find I'm spending too much time playing tech support to get it to work. Also, the plug-in for Word and PowerPoint - Suitcase Attache doesn't always work - I have to keep reinstalling it periodically. Overall, I'm disappointed with the direction SF has taken. Any suggestions would be most welcome.
I can't use Typekit at all. Everytime I sign in it automatically reloads the page so I can't get any fonts.

Why does a Typekit Adobe Arabic font synced into InDesign only show up as an English font?
