Hi there!I'm sure this is covered in a FAQ somewhere, but I can't for the life of me find it.Am I allowed to embed fonts I bought from Adobe (but not necessarily an Adobe Original) with a Preview & Print license in a Flash or AIR game?I ask because I talked to some other foundries, and they had special pricing that only applied to games.Thanks!-Brian

Hello to all experts,I am new to designing so please bear my ignorance.I am using a licensed CS3, and wish to know if I can use all of the adobe fonts for commercial type artwork, or do I have to purchase an additional license for each font I wish to use when designing a commercial product. If anyone knows, I wish to extend the same question towards standard Windows fonts. I am using a licensed windows (both XP and Vista), and wish to know if I need to purchase an additional commercial license for standard fonts such as "Arial", "Times New Roman", "Tahoma", "Comic Sans MS", etc. Unfortunately, I could not get a proper answer from Microsoft.Thank you in advance.
Hi,Can someone please clarify the following two question regarding fonts purchased from Adobe:1. Can I embed them in a Flash/Flex swf in a non-editable textfield?2. can I embed them in a Flash/Flex swf editable textfield? Thanks.
This flourish looks incredibly familiar and I'm almost certain it is from an Adobe font. Can anyone help me with this?
Does Adobe offer a service of customizing fonts. We currently use Scala Sans for all our corporate literature. We like a weight that is between Light and Regular. How might we go about purchasing this?If we used Fontographer, how does this effect the license for the font?thanks,--rick
I just purchased a font from Adobe (Avenir 55 Roman) and downloaded it on my mac. When I move it to my font folder, it only partially shows on the preview and when I try using it. Is there something I need to do?? Any help is appreciated!
Can someone please help in identifying the font used in the Curves logo? Thanks!
Does anyone know anything about the President font that AFAIK used to be included with Windows? I'm not a type person so please forgive any face/font foulups I make in my question.I recently opened a document I had created in Photoshop using President and got the missing font dialoge.Looking inside the file itself, I find references to it being an OpenType font and/or a CoolType font.I have Googled myself blue looking for information, but anything with the word president in it generates a lot of useless, unrelated hits.I did find a couple of other "President" fonts belonging to various companies, so I was wondering if (hoping) this font had just been renamed instead of removed.
After an update to my AVID editing software my Myriad fonts no longer appeared as an option but were still in the windows font folder (true type only was not selected) I deleted them and tried to reinstall but I get an error message that says "Unable to install, font filemay be damaged" So I bought a new one and tried to install it and the same message came up.I tried to install on a different computer and it says the file is currently being used and cannot be replaced wait until windows is finished using the file and try again"I am not not using any other software when I get this error.Help I miss myriad!
I had purchased the Myriad Pro font pack from Adobe several years ago. When upgrading my PC to Windows Vista x64, I thought that I did not need the Adobe Type Manager Lite to get my fonts to install properly; however, when installing my Myriad Pro fonts, they appear to have "TT" artifacts within the center of characters.I have attached an image below. Perhaps someone has run into this before and can provide me with an answer. The version of Myriad Pro I have is 2.006. Some of the Myriad Pro files are Open Type, others are True Type.Thank you in advance.http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/4777/capturehlh.jpg
OK, there's got to be a way to do this that I am overlooking:In InDesign CS4, I am making references to genuine Web URLs in the body copy of several stories. The regular body copy is Minion Pro 10/12.What I'd like advice on is how to make the URLs stand out typographically; in other words, how can I make them the sans serif font, blue and underlined like you would expect to see a link look?Everything I try just doesn't seem right.PS: I'd also like these links to be real -- and visible within the body copy -- when I generate the PDF in Acrobat Pro.Any help appreciated!Eddie
My school is Mac CS4. At home I'm PC CS4. I'm having font incompatibility issues. Is there any way to print the list of OT fonts in CS4? I've searched and cannot find this functionality. Thanks.
I need to set a few "headlines" that will then be placed into power point docs. The headline was set in Photoshop (C4) csaved as a png and placed as 'art' into the ppt file. The type has the jaggies....Thoughts?, any help/ suggestions appreciatedTOK1
Does anyone use character width adjustment in InDesign to manipulate text (manage widows and orphans, etc)? I ask because I have a person on my production team that does this, even though I've asked him to alter his technique. He argues that it's "common practice" however I wouldn't be inclined to manipulate the shape of type characters unless perhaps to manage space in a display headline.Just curious what the common consensus is...
I need to find a font called 'Racy Macy.' I was told that our collateral was created using InDesign on a Mac. Here is a sample of the file:Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,Gloria K.
The Adobe font store lists fonts for Windows and Mac. What about fonts for Linux? We are using LaTeX on RedHat Linux and a requirement is to use the Adobe Univers 57 Condensed font family in a report I am generating. The IT department is leaning towards requiring use of Type 1 fonts rather than allowing use of OpenType fonts.Which Type 1 product (Mac or Windows) do we need to license for use on Linux? And just in case they allow OpenType fonts, which OpenType product (Mac or Windows) do we need to license for use on Linux? Is there anything else we need to consider in regards to using Adobe Fonts on Linux? Same for use with LaTeX on Linux?
I received a new company computer and the technicians copied everything from the hard drives of the old computer to the hard drives of the new computer. Now none of the adobe type fonts show up. I can see them listed in Window Explorer, but when I click on them ATM tells me to please "locate the file ( ) required for" the particular font. This is the case for all the Adobe Type Fonts. I can see the particular Adobe fonts in ATM listed on the right and when I click on them to reinstall I get the same message. When I am in Pagemaker (7.0) or In Design the I am told the font is missing and prompts me to substitute. I can go into fonts in Pagemaker and see all the fonts listed including the Adobe ones but the Adobe fonts are missing in action.Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi,I'm working on this simple business plan and was wondering if perhaps you guys could offer me any advice on how to improve its design? Any important typographical conventions? What about the typeblock? Perhaps there are some golden number-inspired sizes / ratios I could apply here and there? Thanks so much y'all!
Please help. In some Adobe system files "Serbian" language is mentioned, but how to reach it? It'll be enough to get support for hyphenation of full aligned text.
I'm a Graphic Design student and I just bought Adobe Font Folio Education Essentials. My question is, how do I install the fonts? There are no directions. I have a new iMac OSX Leopard (just learning) and not sure where to put the fonts when I put the CD in.Any help would be great.Thanks.
The attached PDF lists all the fonts bundled with Creative Suite 2 and the individual CS2 applications. Enjoy! T
HiSome one please tell me does Photoshop CS4 or (CS3) support Telugu fonts (i,e Anu Script Manager 6 or 7)? If so, how can I possibly use them without any error? if NOT is there any available plugins to support Telugu typing. Please let me know your suggestion. Thanks in Advance.
This is a complicated issue, which I hope can be clarified by this summary. With InDesign CS by itself, there are 66 fonts, many of which are new for the CS version. Apparently these are included with the educational version as well. This includes fonts from the Adobe Jenson Pro, Lithos Pro, Myriad Pro and Trajan Pro families. See here for a complete list: Thomas Phinney, "InDesign CS bundled OpenType fonts" #, 18 Oct 2003 12:26 am">Thomas Phinney "InDesign CS bundled OpenType fonts" 10/18/03 With Illustrator CS by itself, there are 102 fonts, about 31 of which do not overlap with the fonts bundled with InDesign CS. This includes fonts from the Chaparral Pro and Charlemagne Std families. See here for a complete list: Thomas Phinney "Illustrator CS bundled OpenType fonts" 10/18/03 The other CS apps do not individually add meaningfully to the bundled font count. However, with the Creative Suite as a package, there are up to 211 fonts: the 138 fonts included with the individual
Basically, I am having conflict issues with Berthold Akzidenz-Grotesk font. I have removed it from Suitcase and from the system folder on the Mac in OS 10.5.7. However it will still show up as being open in all Adobe programs. I guess it is installed somewhere within an Adobe program but I cannot find it. Any help would be appreciated.Scott
