Using the Community

Why cant I seem to be able to insert code with the insert raw html? I have tried many times and when I click submit, the html is gone. I always wind up using the "quote" feature to insert code. Am I doing something wrong? It really is annoying.Also, another annoying "quirk" of this forum is the fact that when I do start a discussion or even when I might answer one, When I type a few characters, the cursor does a hard enter automatically. I can be in the middle of a word and all of a sudden I am on the next line, which forces me to backspace so I can continue typing the word. Just little things like this that makes me wonder whats going on. I would think that little bugs like this should be worked out by the administrators of this site forum.I belong to quite a few forums, and this is the only one I have issues like this with. But, this is the best resource for Coldfusion, so I wish someone would address these issues. Thanks!

I have been attempting to create a CSS rule that assures each new paragraph will fall directly under the one above it without a line break in between. So far I have had no success. I want my pages to look exactly like those of the a traditional book.

Hi, I noticed this morning that searching the LiveCycle Designer forum seems to be limited to today. My grasp of Latin is limited so I am not going to attempt the plural of 'forum' . Suffice to say, it seems to be across the board. Is this a temporary 'feature' or a permanent clear out?Thanks,Niall

Every time I edit a post (mostly for spelling and/or typos) I must edit the post twice. First edit is made and Update clicked.. I return to the tread to see the post unedited. I edit again.. click Update... return to thread THEN the post is updated.

How can I change my Screen Name (kd2357) in forums.adobe.com to the different Screen Name I have set in 'Adobe account information' ?

Using Firefox/Mac, I entered this forum as usual by using my bookmark. To my surprise, I was not greeted by the Adobe logo, but by the clearspace one:Same thing when I changed to Safari. Hoping this could be a change for the better, I went to the bottom of the page, but was disappointed to find we are STILL using version 2.5.16 of the software.I then I moved to my Win machine, and this is what I got there both in Explorer and Safari (Win 7):So I am more than a bit disconcerted as to where we really are. And as to what is happening.

Well, I was using the forum yesterday and then came back today and it has all changed!I had trouble with login on Firefox but when I try it in IE it works.Also I notice that one screen is muddled in Firefox, here's a screen shotMartin

As I type in any forum window, the first line nearly always ends abruptly and sends me to the second line (as if I hit "return" but I did not). What is causing this?

Why the hell does the forum have a rich text editor when it doesn't support any rich text feature except bold and italics? There's a strikethrough button, different fonts and fontsizes available - but all of these formatting choices are simply thrown away when the post is submitted. It's annoying to spend time richly formatting some text and then find out you did it for nothing.

I have used FontExplorer X for a year or so until I had problems with it. Upgrading to the Pro version made it worse. I decided to go back to Font Book which works in most aspects but when using Adobe Garamond or Utopia Regular (there might be others) some letters come up as pink rectangles. I have about 400 fonts acquired from different sources. Any help would be appreciated.Hans

In the short time I have been visiting these forums I have witnessed some distasteful attitudes toward other forum participants who come here seeking Help. Is a patronizing attitude with sarcastic belittling remarks the normal behavior here whenever someone asks a simple question.  I'm beginning to think so!  I have seen it from both regular members as well as " Community Professional".   Is there any forum/web-site administrators or moderators who monitor the activity within the forums. Do they even care?I can't honestly speak for everyone, but when I come to this or any forum I look to the forum members with experience and who have been around for a while for help if I need it.  I feel any person should be able to approach the experienced person or "Community Professional" with any questions.  Any Question! with out worry of being chastised for asking the question.      What kind of response is telling someone they just wasted 5

It's been a long time since I've come to Adobe forums to ask for help with any Adobe products, but that's not a good thing. The reason for my not asking questions is not because the products are question-free, but because the forums themselves demand more work to enter and to use and I really can't remember what my software questions were. Lately, after I sign on a pop-up window keeps appearing at the tip of my cursor that says "Loading User Profile." This is different than the usual taking of several minutes to be able to sign on, this is a new obstruction to the usability of these forums. Is it the Jive software that is behind all of these strange behaviors?

Hey everyone, new here so Im probably doing this completely wrong but please bare with me! I was randomly directed here whilst trying to find out if theres a way of changing my Facebook URL (its already been changed once - not by me)I have no idea why the adobe forum section would be interested in that, but the link provided sent me here. Dear AdobeI have the following problem with Indesign CS5.After placing correctly my pdf doc into ID CS5 and exporting it for epub, the exported epub file is generated with only small size. I mean when i opened the epub file with Adobe digital edition, i can not maximums the size of the doc. I think the problem is that ID CS5 is added a page number for only the first page in the right bottom of the first page only. This will makes the doc to be displayed with maximum only by adding an extra blank page to the right of each generated page which contains only a page number, so that I can not change the display size in Adobe digital edition. However, Adobe digital edition is working well for other e-books.How can I remove the page number on the first page and make the epub file to be displayed with normal size.best regardsthaar al_taiey

I have only just upgraded to Cs5, on a project I was working on I wanted to use the lighting effect option under filters / render. Has this option been taken away from me to use in Cs5 or is it under another heading?  

This has happened so often that I lost count, but again my user name is messed up in the Premiere Pro forums.My user name now looks like: Harm Millaard-qz01ws. My profile is messed up as well and my picture disappeared. It always happens during weekends  and resetting it to normal will usually only be accomplished by tuesday after I have complained.Often this also means that counters are reset as well and that the new messages on a forum now include everything that I have already read.When can you get rid of this Jive crap. It is bad that your servers are down so often and cause serious delays and posting problems, but this forum software is so crappy , one can almost say the only reliable thing about it is that it causes problems with fantastic reliabilty. Not something to be proud of. Maybe you ought to have a look at the forum software used in your own pre-release community.

I am using OS 10.6.5. I have Lightroom 2.7 installed and I just purchased Photoshop Elements 9. I am trying to edit my Lightroom photos in Elements by going to the menu, selecting photos and then the Edit In, but I am not able to select any of the options as they are grayed out. I have uninstalled and re-installed both programs and that has not helped. Any suggestions?  Let me know if more info is needed. Thanks,Sam

Please Help!!  I am trying to get stuff out to a customer, and I have to keep re-entering information each time.........For some reason after I download a form and complete the fields from internet,  I PRINT/SAVE to Adobe Cute PDF Writer.  Later when I open the file from harddrive I am unable to edit the fields....But I notice even after saving to the Writer,  it automatically opens as reader not writer.   I have tried to associate to the Writer but I cant find it, although I know its on my computer it isnt under program files.  My main question - Before I go through the trouble of reinstall, does cute PDF Writer actually allow edits or do I have to get a real PDF writer?So if the software does allow editing forms, is it maybe just not fully loaded, and should I reinstall the Cute PDF Writer???? Id appreciate any ideas at this point, this has caused alot of wasted time so far....

I am sometimes using indentation (Indent) to make some part of my instructions stand out.For instance I would like this paragraph to be indented.  I just add a little bit more text here for demonstration purposes; to make it a bit longer than just one line - you really don't have to read all of this.Ok, and now I am ending the indentation and take a screenshot, to show you have I intended this to look like...To start and end the indentation I have used the 'Indent' and 'Outdent' buttons on the editorNow when I post this message, all indentation is gone.Why?  This worked fine until a short time ago...

As you can see from this post (see also posts #4&7&8),http://forums.adobe.com/message/3267801#3267801the image only shows when and while you are posting an answer to it.And as you can see from post #8, it shows in the second attempt.

I have been able to read & reply to topics in the Flash Player forum all morning, but it has been incredibly slow.Now all of a sudden I can not longer open any topics.  When I try, I getI obviously can post in this forum.  Are there any other forums affected by this?(What is the meaning of this message, anyway?)
