SOME MEANINGS:verb tr., intr.:1. To deceive, to flatter, to taunt, to talk nonsense. adjective:1. Insincere or deceptive.noun:1. Insincere, pretentious, or exaggerated talk.Have left out those relating to music and dance...BTW "Jive" also is a slang term for marijuana, as in the song "Hit That Jive Jack", recorded by Nat King Cole, Diana Krall, and others. ("Hit that jive Jack. Put it in your pocket till I get back.")So, obviously we now know what this Jive software is all about! And what the guys there have been smoking!!

ok so for some reason the only way I can log in to adobe.com is if I use Firefox. All the other browsers have me redirected to the log in page when I try to sign in. I don't know why this is. It wont say anything just takes me back to the log in page
Really Adobe, I've been seeing this crap on occasion coming to these rubbish forums, and reloading has always worked-- but [edited by host]?Am I the only one seeing this? I'll have to save the text next time I get some stupid error message back from the server, for having the NERVE to attempt to actually view a Jiveware forum page.Jive Software, you [edited by host].
Just thought you should know, this forum software blows, Adobe.Setting a profile pic in Chrome it leaves out the path to the file, just putting in the filename, so obviously the upload fails. Works in Opera, at least. Not that this is a critical bug, but so much for the only browser that runs this crap at a reasonable speed (on a non-supercomputer) and with minimal issues being fully supported.NumberOfJiveCrapspaceIssues += 1;trace(NumberOfJiveCrapspaceIssues);Output console:1213497234770321
I originally thought by pressing the email notifications link, that I would get only responses to my questions/comments. Now I see it sends me everything. I pressed the link yesterday morning to stop getting the notifications and they are still coming in. Does it take a bit for them to stop coming in or is there something else I need to do?Thanks!
Nice to see this morning that when reading via RSS, when I click on the subject title to view on the Adobe Forums via a web browser, it's taking me directly to that specific post in the thread. Never used to do that for me before. Is this something that JIVE fixed over the 4th of July break ?! I'm loving it. Some positive news for a change eh ?Now can we get the Font Family and Language Options for the spell checker, to STICK ?!!
They didn't always look like this:

for some reason i cannot post in these forums from my computer(i cant see this area but i can edit the title) is there anything i need to instal to enable posting?
Someone claimed to have found a way to circumvent the queue. Attach file, post. Immediately edit, remove attachment, re-attach.I've been trying it (see my post in the Testing forum if interested) - couldn't get it to work.
JUST MY OPINION:It seems as if people here are becoming a bit touchy over little things. To some degree, that has always been true, but now appears much more so. I notice it from people that were NEVER quick tempered in the past.We now argue over where an apostrophe should be placed, misspellings, and one thing after another. Little things that aren't worth getting upset over. Things that, formerly, would be ignored. Or, at best, a simple "There, fixed that for you" is all that is needed. I think it is due to the hassle that the new, improved forums have caused. Very few of us are really happy with the changes. Some, such as points, are just useless. Others, such as getting logged out, get on our nerves, and rightfully so. It defeats the reason for these forums. Communication is why we come here and when we can't communicate, in a timely fashion, we get angry. That's justified. But please, we should attempt to be courteou

Install any Adobe CS4 product on a Windows OS and the software adds some number of Startup items to MSCONFIG including CS4ServiceManager, AdobeCollabSync and a blank line with no Startup file name or Command Line entry.Until Adobe's products added those Startup items, I had no software loading from my MSCONFIG Startup group. The blank line was disconcerting so I unchecked it. That, apparently, triggered the dreaded "error 148:3" message about a licensing problem. That error can be resolved by running LicenseRecover.exe, a file available for download from somewhere on the Adobe.com site. However, as long as the blank line in MSCONFIG is unchecked, CS4 products will continue to not run and will continue to display the 148:3 error message.So...what does the blank line in MSCONFIG do? What is it? How is it that Adobe can add an unnamed Startup item to MSCONFIG?Jeff
First of all, is there a better place to ask this question than this forum? I looked at the list of forum names, and I didn't see one that I felt was right for my issue.I'm trying to install an OpenType font in WinXP (Inconsolata). When I select the file in the font installation dialog, it just says "Unable to install the ... font. The font file may be damaged. Check with your vendor about obtaining a new file." I'm getting the .otf file from http://www.levien.com/type/myfonts/inconsolata.html. I've also tried http://moorstation.org/typoasis/designers/steffmann/samples/a/albert.htm with the same result. I've tried downloading the file (from Firefox) several times.

Perhaps the thread where we had idly discussed whether the servers are located in Minnesota or whether Geotool gives misleading results was lost because it was in the temporary preview forum. In any event, the search function can't find it.Keeping in mind that some contributors opine that IP location is not determinative, I still find it curious that Geotool continues to place the servers of this forum at Medicine Lake in the Minneapolis area on an absolutely consistent basis. It still did a few minutes ago:
I don't why changing a motherboard and loading new drivers would cause a problem, but since doing so today, about 10-15 seconds after opening a .pdf file from an email attachment or website, there is the following message: "Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional cannot be launched at this time. You must launch at least one other suite component (such as Adobe Photoshop) before launching Acrobat 8 Professional." I have CS3. Any ideas? Thanks.
I don't know if most of you knew this but I didn't; Cisco bought them in 2007. I'm not surprised that Adobe doesn't wish to do business with them more here.
please stop using this place like an open discussion area.
Others have probably observed as well that after the forum upgrade, attachments are still getting queued for a long time, e.g. the attachment in this post has been queued for almost two hours:http://forums.adobe.com/thread/433930?tstart=0(The attachment posted 9:56 AM PDT, it's now 11:49 AM PDT.)Is there an ETA on a fix for this? If it's going to be awhile, can attachments just be disabled until it's fixed?
Hi,Where can I find information about how to display PDF documents in my Java application? I have tried the old (1998) unsupported PDF-Viewer. It works just fine, but I have to accept the license every time I open my dialog. Is there any way to get rid og this accept-dialog?
Is this a joke or what?Buko's thread,Report Spam or inappropriate content here again.Disappears... then reappears! The thread:"Forum Comments forum is the new Lounge thread" has vanished....Who is this moderator who's playing havoc?Posts have been deleted with no explanation... what is going on?
Hi,I have a UK copy of Adobe CS4 Web Premium (Student Edition) which requires activation via Adobe's form at www.adobe.com/go/studentedition_ukI have completed this form and attached a copy of my student ID on June 24th (5 days ago) and heard nothing from Adobe, despite claims that a customer service advisor will deal with the form within 24 hours.I have spoken to two customer service advisors via the "chat" fuction who have both promised that it will be looked at soon and I will recieve a serial number via e-mail but this has not happened. Is there anything further I can do to aid this process and to be able to use the software I have paid for?If anyone from Adobe is looking it is Case #0202202411.Any help would be appreicihated,Many Thanks,Mark
