Using the Community

I am doing some design and dev work for a friend's non-profit. I did this work in my CS4 Dreamweaver. Am ready to load everything onto their FTP into their MX 2004 Dreamweaver and can't seem to get things in properly. Anyone got some time/suggestions on how to get this done?

Working in Layout Mode.Create two cells of different width, fixed size.Insert text in both, fonts are different.Place one cell above the other.Always too much space between adjacent cells even though the cell layout lnes are touching.It seems as if the cells have a default padding value for text? This is never a problem when the cell content is an image.Thanks,Martin

I was just trying to tell someone in the Win Acrobat forum about the lack of FAQs and links for feedback, etc. I come over here to make the comment and there are sticky notes and sub-forums that have FAQs. These are needed in the other forums, but I don't know of how they are put there.I am getting used to the new forums, but they are still slow (would help if all of the stupid background graphics were eliminated maybe) and lack the features I was used to in the Acrobat forum before. Maybe it is just that the forum managers are not adding the extra features there, leaving only the speed as the major issue. Bill

I have been trying to convert images created in webex and transferred to illustrator into 300 dpi tifs. They download as ucf's when generated on white board. Or I'm uploading files from others coming in at 72 dpi, converting them to something bigger in photoshop to paint in before taking them back into the webex session as a doc that then gets worked on further during the session. Later they go into illustrator for some more work with vectors. That's fine for the web but now a publisher wants them as 300 dpi tifs and I can only get things back & forth as 72 dpi pdf's. If I try to bump them up with a resample, they come out teensy weensy. What am I missing and how can I make them look good?

I have been using Firefox for a very long time now, and it had never, ever, crashed on me...Until now.In the last week or so my Firefox crashes on a regular basis when I open the Reply page in these forums. It doesn't always happen, but it does happen quite a lot, on two separate computers.I'm using Firefox 3.0.11 on Win XP SP2.Anyone else experiencing this?

Adobe 8Did a system restore to a past date. That didn't fix the problem. Installed adobe 9.1...didn't fix the problem.I have Vista 64 bit. HP Pavillion mf9400Also installed the recommended Adobe Digital thingy...that didn't fix the problem.So what is the problem? And is there a stupid Vista fix?Thanks

Just over a month ago I switched platforms from Windows to Mac.  I started the process of switching my Production Suite Premium upgrade to the new platform.  On May 12th I faxed my letter of destruction and was informed immediately that I would receive a replacement Mac serial number and replacement discs.  Seven days later I added to my open case that I had not received the discs.  There was no reply by either E-mail or telephone.  After one more week I called customer service again and they told me that everything was in order and the discs would be sent immediately.  Six days later they had not arrived.  I called again, and customer service told me they had difficulty reading my serial number.  They said they resolved the issued and the discs would be sent out.  A week later still no discs so I called again.  This time I was informed I needed to fax in a LOD for my CS3 version as well.  I did that two days ago, but still no cont

Hey all,Thanks for reading. I working with Premiere 2, AE cs4 and Encore 2.0. I'm rendering out of AE with No Fields Progressive (it what look best on my Sony Tritron which I'm using for a monitor), same story when I export out of Premiere as mpeg2. All is well until I get to Encore and the final video is not the crystal clear piece I been working on. I also tried quicktime files and same thing happened. Any ideas because Im baffle. the Flash Text and Flash Button options have dissappeared in the insert menu in Dreamweaver CS4. They used to be there but not now

I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but it would be so convenient to have a "quick reply" box in the forums, instead of having to wait for all of the often unnecessary clutter of the full reply box (complete with a scene clacker thingy and a camera) to load up.Thanks,Ariel

I have a News page on my site and would like to imbed a Quicktime video with some of the items. I would also like to imbed MP3's.  How do I do that in Dreamweaver? Thanking you in advance for any help you can give me.Bill

I can only view the first page of the forum.  When I click the link to the next page, it merely reloads the first page.  Also, when I log in, it dumps me out on a page with links to all the forums, even though I was already in the Photoshop Mac forum.  This means more navigation to return.  And why do I have to log in every day?  These are some pretty lame behaviors for a serious software company's forum.  What gives?

We've had some changes made for session timeouts. Are people still having to constantly log-in throughout the day? Today I've managed to stay logged in without any forum activity for up to 3 hours or slightly longer. Has it improved for others? The login session should now be about 4 hours. It was supposed to be two hours previously, but for some accounts it might have been shorter.John

Why are there no explanations given when posts are deleted?I had a non offensive post that was reported and deleted with no explanation as to why. I have been told by another poster that it may have been a bug within the forum regarding the last posting times, etc. It would be nice to know if this were the case or if someone had their panties in a wad.

Damn the jive a$$ hamster is slower than the old Webx hamster. I've been logged out of the forum while waiting to get in. that is weird.

Just curious:When a post is edited, e.g. to insert an image in it, do those forum users who rely only on email get any notification of any kind to alert them to to the edit?

Mac OS 10.4.11Safari 3.2.3Corporate FirewallAt work, I've had problems with the new Forums since they started; they have been slooooow. If I'd click on a Post to read it, it would take 10 minutes to open (exactly 10 minutes, I timed it).But, if I disable JavaScript in Safari, I have no speed issues anymore. The Forums are now fast. The Posts open pretty much instantly (well in about 3 seconds – that's still 597 seconds faster than before).Here is how to disable it:Safari > Preferences > Advanced (the last Tab) > Click on "Show Develop menu in menu bar (last checkbox) > close windowThis will add a "Develop" menu in the menus at the top of the screen (between Bookmarks & Window)Now go Develop > Disable JavaScript And you're done.BUT, if you want to Start a Discussion, once you're in the "Post New Thread" window, you have to re-enable JavaScript to be able to type the message of your Post.So far, it's working for me.Develop = Developer

Hitherto, I just thought it was another strangeness of these here forums that you have to use the Tab or the mouse to get away from the heading and into writing the message.But testing in another thread in another forum, I realized that you can actually change the heading. So actually, you can write whatever you wish there.I wonder whether the nanny thing works there.And now to posting the first post.
