Read the spam thread for awhile and you will see that moderation works well in these webx forums You will also see messages concerning the LACK of moderation over in the cfusion side of things Will the new forum software/structure allow for "this" moderation to continue, or will it fall away to "that" style of non-moderation?

During the last fiasco, the French and Spanish ex-Adobe forums simply vanished, only to reappear after things were restored to their previous state. If anyone trusts my memory, I would say that the ex-MM forums remained untouched in that period. Is anyone visiting these forums in a position to say if there is any intention of keeping all/some/none of the international forums? I am aware that there would be technichal problems such as combining both sets of forums for each language, but they should be no more difficult to solve than in the "normal" forums. I also know that the number of participants in the Spain (Adobe) forum is small, but the forum is a great service for all of those who don't know any English. I imagine the situation is very similar at least for the France (Adobe) forum. It would be a pity to loose them. Finally, if they are going to be kept, this would be a good time to translate properly all of their fixed text.

I'm going to start this over. After the forum transition, for the most part, there will be little change in the people that spend time in any area of the forums. People that have been asking and answering questions will be the same people that have always been there, including hosts. A group of people that have been actively working in the MM side forums, and who will continue working in those same areas after the change, have been invited here a bit earlier because, for the first time, they will have the same hosting rights in their areas that hosts on this side have always had... and we wanted to give them an opportunity to learn how to do the housekeeping that they haven't been able to do over there before. In addition, we will all soon have an opportunity to start learning the new software, and we (including everyone that helps with the preview of it that John has discussed) will be able to help others find their way about once it goes public. Back in the good-old days, just a few weeks ago.... I didn't have to log in every time I visited the forum. And, it would keep track of the posts I've viewed so I didn't have to cruise past the "old" ones to get to the "new" ones. That has changed - for the worse. I don't believe I changed anything on my end, except linking my adobe id's as per the suggestion/requirement. Could this be changed back to the good-old way?

Will the free flow of unified threads be retained, with successive posts filling the entire width, and with simple forum lists of threads, or: A) Are we going to be put in boxes with forum member information to the left and possibly buttons to the left/right/bottom, so the flow is broken up and takes up far more space? B) Will the threads be branched, so everything may become fragmented, and so subjects deserving their own threads will be buried deep? C) Will the forum lists of threads be furnished with dividing lines and possibly arranged by subject rather than latest posts? I believe those are the most fundamental question about the new forum; most other issues can be solved within the right frame, if needed. Have a look at Jivesoftware's own Clearspace (that's the name of the proposed new forum software here) support forum. Hi, I'm looking for any really good reliable books about FrameMaker for beginners. I found "Adobe FrameMaker 7.0 Classroom in a Book" on amazon but the reviews for it were pretty bad. Does anyone know if there is a FrameMaker book out there that would be suitable for beginners - my version of FrameMaker is 7.2. Thanks in advance for any tips. Sinead.

Hello together, I,am new in this forum ( and with english) I have`t worked with PRE4 and now with 7. My Questions are ( 2); Howcan I install the programm without HD and AVCHD? I want work only with MPEG2 ( 720 x 572 ), because I think its works faster? The PRE4 run faster My secent Question is; In PRE4 I saw ( without tagging very slowly) just in time ,the scenes seperetly ( I mean a lot of clips as MovieMaker) I hope of Help, thanks

Without having even launched the new forums, I predict a lot of unhappy users. Problem 1 is that there will be no Newsreader access to the forums. http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b7c501 I see a disaster similar to the last change that had to be rolled back after several weeks of mayhem. Do the people who make these decisions ever use these forums? Do they even bother to talk to us users? Do they know what a Newsreader is? There is very little wrong with the way that the forums work now. Steve

Since the login changes have started, the operation of the back button has changed for some reason. IE seems to go back to the same place, but SeaMonkey fails to do that. I have tried different browsers and web sites. IE does return to the same place, but both SeaMonkey and FireFox go back to the top of the page. This does not happen on other sites, only the forum, leading to the conclusion that there is a change in the forum software (though I can not find anything in the source listings). In a related manner, a refresh also moves back to the top of the page. This is not typical in browsers and has apparently been added to the forums. Please leave out these moves to the top of the page and leave the page where it was. Let the browser work normally. When one returns to the top of the page with either a back button or a refresh, I then have to just scan down to where I was before again. It gets to be a real pain and I have found it very annoying in the Acrobat for Windows forum. Sinc

I'm fairly new to using the Technical Communications Suite and am considering taking some classes for FrameMaker 8 and RoboHelp 7. The companies that I'm considering are: Lodestone Digital and Sterling Ledet & Assocaies. I'm hoping that at least a few of you may have knowledge of either and/or both of these companies and wouldn't mind sharing your opinion. Hi - I was just at the Flash forum, tried to search for "alternative content" and got a ColdFusion error. I know this has happened before and I know it was reported here before. Since there was no remedy provided other than to report it - here I am. I hope this message reaches the correct admin and helps solve the issue for all involved. I first posted this in the Photoshop Mac forum, and was directed to repost here. I have 2 serious issues with usability of this forum. I wear glasses, and it is very difficult to find my visited links. 2 reasons: 1. The visited links are nearly the same color as the unvisited links. Difference is too subtle. Whose idea was this? 2. The line height between post titles in the forum display is too short. The lines need a few more pixels between them to be individually readable instead of blending into a mass of text. These are web design issues. Whoever designed this has young eyes, and doesn't wear glasses. Finding one's place in the links is a giant headache for older eyes. Someone suggested I change my browser prefs or write some custom css to make it the way I want it. I have 2 problems with that: 1. I do web design, and use my browser to preview sites. If I have a custom style sheet enabled, I don't get accurate preview. Then, it becomes a matter of having to remember to switch b

It wasn't obvious for me to discover this forum. It is inside a folder inside another folder called "FAQs on New Adobe Forums (2009)". And this folder does nor show a red flag when there are unread messages inside!!! This means that it may easily pass unnoticed, as happened for several days in my case.
