Hi,I will be moving from FCPX & Motion to begin using Pr and Ae. I'm currently using a Macbook Pro (13-inch, late 2014), which has been surprisingly/unsurprisingly (?) amazing to work with, very smooth cutting, rendering effects, titles and transitions, playback, exporting, scrubbing etc, a bit of a dream actually.I've looked at the minimum requirements on the Adobe website to run CC 2019, it seems my current machine wont cut it. Excuse the pun. Too old, too low spec. I am therefore making the decision to upgrade after nearly 5 years on my Macbook.I have lined up 4 of what I think will be some good choices of machine to purchase, I would like some help deciding what will be sufficient for running my new software at an amateur level. No big projects, not too much 4K editing.Bearing in mind, as per the Adobe website the minimum requirement for CC 2019 AND the recommended requirements.Minimum:Recommended:Intel® 6thGen or newer CPU 8 GB of RAMIntel® 6thGen or newer CPU 8 GB of RAM8 GB

Hey Guys,With the new Mac Pro being released shortly I have a few questions regarding hardware and performance. I'm hoping you all can help me out for a project I am doing at school.Can Premier Pro utilise all potential 28 cores on the New Mac Pro(or any computer for that manner)? Yes/NO  Is it the CPU or the GPU that determines the rendering time and does the term accelerated graphics refer to the gpu supporting the CPU to speed up rendering.Is it CPU or GPU that determines the exporting time? (ignore external drives, SSD etc etc,)For instant video playback during the editing phase, is this all GPU heavy?I know ram plays a big deal, but my main focus is cpu and gpu, trying to understand how the CPU and GPU affect video editing performance.Last but not least, if you where to take a hot on perfromance, would you rather have a lower GPU or a slower CPU and why Thanks so much for your help, much appreciated.

Hi at all,every day I am more aware that Premire pro cc and AME work badly and do not take advantage of the new CPU.Given the long rendering times I have with my computer, I have made a test comparing with a computer 10 years ago, with a CPU of 6 core at 2.9 GHz (xeon X5670) against a cpu contemporane from 16 core to 3.7 GHz (Amd 1950X).I've gotten to render a video in 4K of unso 6 minutes of duration with output in 4 formats of H264 ... I've done that test in the 2 pc:PC 1Amd 1950X, GTX1080, 64GB ramPC 2Xeon X5670, GTX1050ti, 16GB ramWell, the result has no logic, the pc with amd 1950X has taken 43 minutes while the xeon X5670 has taken 1 hour and 2 minutes.Seen the thing, it gives me to think that the programming of the suite of adobe CC are at least 10 years that is not updated to take advantage of the resources of the new CPU ...I think the adobe team should refresh their programs at the current time ...A greeting.

I have a custom built computer ( fractal design case … big size ). Is about 6 years old. Basically it is choking sometimes and I have to use proxies.I have SSD for OS and programsanother drive for source material (raid 0 HDD x 2)another drive for cache ( ssd)another drive for exports ( HDD)basically what I want to do is replace mobo, cpu, and ram so it is faster more powerful and less prone to proxy doing 4k.everything is full HD only... monitors and exports.. but new stuff ( 4k h264 for example) is lagging without proxy.I want to avoid making dnxhr sq proxies, and have stuff work OK.Is this even POSSIBLE ??  Can you replace a mobo and cpu and ram and KEEP your drives and programs and all the other stuff intact ? Hello!I want to get a new MacBook and wonder what the best configuration would be for working with Premiere and After Effects.For me it is important to stay mobile, since I work and travel a lot, therefore I want a MacBook more than a PC. I'm also a Mac user since around 8 years, therefore I don't want to switch to another OS.I do a lot of video editing in Premiere (mostly full HD proxies) and a lot of masking/retouching in After Effects. I'd be reluctant to recommend EaseUS. I'm currently looking for a new solution to do incremental backups of my footage and project drives. EaseUS runs ok for a week or two, then mysteriously fills up, even though I've configured it to only back up one day. I feel I can't depend on it. And customer support is non-existent. The tutorials are only basic. Live chat is never on. I'm looking at Paragon now.

Hey everybody,I'm looking at getting a new processor, motherboard, cooler.  But my question is which processor would be better to get?  I know higher clock scores are good but so is having more cores from what I understand, but at the end is buying the 9740 worth it?  I have no problem spending the money but rather see what the real world worker thinks. My content is mostly shot with an Inspire 2 X5S camera and I generally shoot 4096 or 3840 mov or mp4.  I've thought about getting the prores or CinemaDNG licenses but currently, don't have that licensing since I've not needed it yet....I do use After Effects a little bit but nothing major.So what are peoples thoughts on what might be best or is there something else out there that might be better?  I rather use Intel but know the Threadripper is a good option as well.Thanks for the help![Moderator note: moved to best forum.]

Okay, I'm pretty stymied.  Haven't needed to do surround sound for over a year, now I need it.  The last couple of updates to Windows and to Premiere CC appear to have broken the SoundBlaster X-Fi which previously had worked fine for several years in a 5.1 setup.  Adobe no longer provides any recommendations other than ASIO.  Saw someone who said they were having luck with an Audigy FX, so got one of those, no dice at all.  So I got an USB device from StarTech, also no dice.  I cannot find any posts from anybody recently having good results with a specific sound card.  SOOOO -- are you doing 5.1 sound successfully on your Windows 10 machine with Premiere Pro CC 12.1.2 or 13.1.2?  If so, WHAT IS THE CARD?????????  Thanks!

Hi all,I have a computer with amd 1950X graphics GTX1080 and 64GB of ram.I have the graphics drivers updated to the latest "studio / creative"I have problems with rendering time, it takes a long time, adobe media encoder ...... I just have some videos in h264 to 1080P with high bitrate and I have to pass them to several formats of videos always with the codec H264 at low bitrate.What happens is that the CPU only reaches 50% or 70% and the GPU 5-10% ... i have CUDA selected ....Does anyone know the problem and the solution?Thank you

Setup as Threadripper 1950X, Asus rog GTX 1070 8GB GPU and 32GB Ram @ 3000mhzThe Rendering and processing is stuck with 15%-16% CPU usage - and does not go higher than that. I've tried reducing the core usage under (msconfig), tried using the AMD master software to enable creator mode - Nothing. Most importantly, Premier pro keeps crashing every time a few seconds of video is being played. The GPU has the latest drivers.Would appreciate if anyone here has had a problem with an off the box installation of the AMD Threadripper 1950x and premier pro issues.

Felt like support was finally there but I've tried seemingly everything (toggling and untoggling "Prefer EGPU", multiple restarts with different eGPU pairing routines, turning metal off and back on)... It just refuses to use my eGPU anymore leading to a massive performance decrease. In both the exports and the timeline.Anybody have any luck getting theirs to work on the new version? I've tried both a Vega 64 and an RX 480 with no luck.

I'm looking to build a PC, and these are the parts I've picked out so far. Do you have any suggestions for better bang for the buck, or does this system seem to be pretty solid for editing 4k video with Premiere? I don't do anything with After Effect at the moment, but it would be nice to have that capability down the road. Would this rig handle that as well? Hi,I'm hoping this is a simple answer for someone who is more knowledgeable of hardware specs and capabilities. I've been having trouble with editing 4K footage in Premier Pro CC 2019: With one clip playing and no effects the playback is lagging.I've gone down a bit of rabbit hole trying to figure this out, GPU problems, CPU bottlenecks, enabling the correct render selection with CUDA, etc:I've had the suspicion it is a GPU problem as my Nvidia card does nothing when monitoring, my intel GPU is at about 20% while my CPU is maxed out. I've gone through every forum I can find and it seems to have everything correctly setup, however the GPU still remains unresponsive. I've updated drivers, Installed CUDA, I've chosen the correct render, I've applied accelerated effects, nothing. I am missing something here?I'm now thinking that perhaps the issue isn't the GPU but a bottleneck with my CPU however I have doubts given they were both stock options from Lenovo when purchasing the computer. Hello,I have a main timeline for a project that has sound files that were recorded at 48000 Hz.  If I set my timeline setting to that number, there are random pops and clicks all over the place.  It will also export with these pops. If I set the timeline at 96000 Hz, it plays fine.  The timelines that I synch my footage in are set st 48000 Hz, and they play okay too. It's only when I load up on effects and fades that it struggles. It was suggested to me that my windows sound setting might be wrong, but I checked and it is also set at 48000 Hz.  Should I just keep the timeline setting (and export setting)at 96000 Hz?  I don't know why that would he what works if the sound files themselves are 48000 Hz.Any information would be appreciated. Wanted a quick opinion on the final decision I am making around my new build platform for AME/Premiere/After Effects etc.Currently have an GTX Nvidia 1070 in my old  i7 6700K machine - and was planning to just swap that into my new  i9 9900k based machine.New machine all SSD drives, with NVMe drive for project files/Previews/Cache as it is so fast. New machine also has 64GB DDR4 3200 memory. Z390 Motherboard.I assume, ..... as I don't produce ultra complex Premiere projects with loads of layers/effects, the current GTX 1070 will be OK versus buying a new say .... GTX 2070. (GTX 2080 a bit expensive !)You opinion/experience would be valued.Maybe upgrade to a GTX 2080 - one day .... when my wallet has cooled down.Thanks
