Hi All!Looking to build my first pc and am struggling with where to allocate money on the main components, and finding microATX compatible parts for Ryzens new 7 2700x and (if that CPU truly is the right fit for my needs). I tried to be as thorough as possible, any help is appreciated, thanks so much in advance!Budget: would like to keep it around $1,800, but would go up $2,300 if necessary (no peripherals)Location: home office, but would like to keep it smaller if possible because i travel often and would love to throw a handle on a microATXUse: Video editing mainly (premiere pro) with gaming as an afterthought (battlefield, titanfall2, pubg)Premiere Pro is used 3-6 hrs/day for editing wedding video (rendering, playback) . I am very new to video editing and have just started running Premiere on my Mac for some simple 1080p video editing.I am finding Premiere is running slow to the point colour grading is almost impossible and making it clear my machine needs an upgrade. The trouble I am having is knowing how best to upgrade, or if an upgrade will be a complete waste of money and I need a new computer.I am running on a mid 2011 iMac, 2.7 GHz i5, 12GB RAM, AMD Radeon 512 MB GPU and I still have a spinning disk.As far as I can work out upgrading to a SSD may help but my GPU may be the deal breaker as it is non-upgradable.Anyone out there any thoughts? Hi!I know, Mac Mini is good for offices tasks, print server, stuffs like that. But i edited videos, some a lot of them, in true. Its been so painfull! If i take a GPU with CUDAS and plug in my thunderbolt, my performance will improve?

I understand that in order to take advantage of the new Hardware Encoding during Export (Encoding Settings/Performance/Hardware Accelerated), you need a processor that features Intel's Quick Sync Video. My Intel i7 6950X does not. Is there any other way to enable the hardware setting (mine is grayed out)? I have an nVIDIA Titan X Pascal video card, which of course enables Hardware decoding w/Mercury Transit, but is there a way to use my video card for Harware Encoding in AME or is there any other way to get Hardware Accelerated encoding w/o an Intel processor that supports it?

Hey! I work a s a professional photographer and filmmaker. Most of the time i use Lightroom and Photoshop (60%), Premiere Pro (30%) and After Effects + other Applications like Illustrator and Indesign (10%). For the last six years i was on a macbook pro. Since Lightroom 7.2 update it run's ok, but premiere pro is a mess to edit in. I hate final cut so that's no option.... Recently i found out that premiere pro is not making really usage of my gpu acceleration. I have a macbook pro mid 2012 with 2,6ghz, 16gb ram and a geforce gt650m with 1gb VRAM. When using Open CL and Metal my Premiere pro often crashes! When switching to software only it runs smooth, but i always have to render and that takes really long sometime, but the playback is much better as with gpu support!? I will go for a new machine for my usage. First Idea was an imac pro with 8cores, 8gb Vega 56 graphics and 64gb ram + 1TB SSD. Reviews and Videos on Youtube say that building Lightroom Previews is much faster than an old

I just purchased a new 9560 and was super excited to start using Premiere to edit my 4k footage. Unfortunately, Premiere & Photoshop only use the integrated Intel card even though I set the Nvidia profile for the Adobe apps. This makes both programs barely usable and just far too laggy to work in. Is this a known issue and has anyone solved it? Thanks in advance.

Hey all,I've been using PrPro and Ae for more than 10 years, most recently recently on Win7 and Mac OS. I recently bought a super cheap ($650!!) Win10 tower at CostCo, and WOW, I am super impressed with the performance!This is the one:HP Performance Pavilion 580-137c Desktop - AMD Ryzen 7 - 4GB Graphics I haven't pushed any boundaries with the 3D rendering from Ae yet, just 2D Ae Dynamic Linked comps, multicam event video, and Lumetri Color, no pre-renders, just going straight to export "match sequence settings" (original capture media is Canon XF MPEG from model XF300).The thing is currently rendering circles around machines that cost 4X as much $$$ a few years ago. Also, I think PrPro may just be happier running on Win10 than on the other operating systems I have tried.I am pleased with this situation.Thanks!Eric D - CoralVision

peepsWe got the BM intensity shuttle last week and its been nothing but trouble--we have windows 10 pro (updated weekly) pc with i7 6800k proc 32 GB ram  512GB ssd 1 4 TB hdd. we are capturing to the ssd drive---and then cutting and pasting to the 4 tb hdd (if the capture works which we've only gotten a couple tapes to capture over a week)I can't get it to consistently connect--If I reinstall the drivers on a daily basis it seems to work for a bit and recognize the device. But even then---it will disconnect in the MIDDLE of capturing and stop capture.Anybody had any issues like this with this thing..possible solutions....I need to be able to set this up so other coworkers with little knowledge of the device can capture from it. I know it has an Intel Iris Pro Plus Graphics card which means it shares RAM with the CPU. I only need to edit occasionally with this machine, I have a fully outfitted iMac on my desk. I need to replace my older 15" MBP but that one has a dedicated graphics card. I would buy the MBP 13" easily if it had a dedicated card in it, but it doesn't I don't want the 15" weight anymore.  Thoughts? On the same topic, if I bought a HP Spectrum can I use my Adobe license on the iMac and the Spectrum? Last I checked Adobe would only allow the license to be on one platform at a time, though you could use it on multiple machines in the same household/business on the same platform (the current license I have allows me to have one on my MBP and one on my iMac). I'm currently using a 2010 MacBook Pro 13 inch and it's time for an upgrade! I've started to work on virtual reality editing in premiere pro and need to use the 3d options in Photoshop (currently greyed out because I don't have enough VRAM).Work on Premiere Pro and After Effects is way to slow and while this machine served me well as a student, I can't work on this anymore professionally.I'm thinking about getting the 2017 MacBook Pro 13 inch or the iMac 21.5 inch. I mostly work from home so I don't mind so portability is less of an issue than efficiency and capability to handle multiple programs. I was thinking about the MacBook Pro 15 inch, but it's a tad beyond my budget at this point.Any advice? :S

Hello!I working on finalizing a custom computer build for using Adobe software, primarily Premiere Pro and After Effects. I'm hoping to get some advice on an ideal choice for a motherboard.I will be running an i7 8700K processor and have a few options for motherboards, but I've more or less narrowed it down to the ASUS ROG Strix Z370-E Gaming motherboard and the ASUS TUF Z370-PRO Gaming motherboard. I'm drawn to the Strix board since it has built in Wi-Fi, superior audio quality, and perhaps a nicer build quality overall, but I'm also trying not to overspend and suspect that either motherboard would perform just fine for my needs.Does anyone here have experience with these motherboards, or general thoughts on a good motherboard choice for an i7 8700K build? Hi guys,I am right about to buy video editing laptop and I am not sure what to search for. For most I need laptop because of portability, since I am gonna play music (DJ) at clubs with it too, otherwise I would go for desktop PC. As I did some research, I figured that most usable laptop in 2017 for video editing was DELL 9560, 15" 4k laptop with GTX 1050 (4GB). But here is this new laptop from DELL 15" 2-in-1 with Radeon RX Vega M GL (4GB). There are not much (nothing at all actually) information about this Radeon to how it works with Adobe applications (Premiere, After effects), thats why I wanted to ask you experts, what you think it would be better to buy? Or if there are any other Brands/model of laptop, that goes up to 2500€/$? I am afraid that I would not be able to get decent desktop PC for around 1500-1700, so I could buy separate laptop for music only..Cheers,Denis

Hi all thanks for your help, I'm trying to understand and learn.I just purchased a new laptop for editing and AE (not able to consider a desktop) and it came with a lightning fast PCIe SSD with 512gb that hold the OS.  It also came with a D:\ drive 1TB HDD (5200rpm).   I'll replace to HDD with an MX500 SSD and I think I can move the OS to the D:\ drive and tell the BIOS to boot always from D- yes? Is that right? Then I would run the OS, PP and AE from the slower SSD and hold the media files on the faster SSD.  Where should previews, cache, scratch files and pagefile be?  I have another SSD that I can run via USB 3.0   I understand that USB 3.0 can handle all the throughput of a SSD up to 500mbps, so I would like to take advantage of that third SSD.   Should I use it as a cache or should I output my renders to it?  I can render outputs to the HDD via USB 3.0 (I have 3 USB 3.0 ports).   Is this optimal?  I want to be sure b

Hi,I'm editing a music video on a Macbook Pro 2017 (15 inches).Specs:Processor: 2,8 GHz Intel Core i7Memory: 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3Graphics: Radeon Pro 555 2 GBIntel HD Graphics 630 1536 MBThe project consists of a both 1080 and 4k footage (h.254). As I've been editing my laptop's performance have been getting progressively worse. After adding LUTS, transitions and the whole works it's gotten to the point where I have to wait for 10-15 seconds for each clip to load while moving along my timeline. Playback is not even possible, even at 1/4. I now have to export the entire project to see how it looks while playing back.I'm already using proxies for editing, but this has had absolutely no effect on the performance of my laptop. All Premiere-files are saved locally on the laptop, while all the footage is stored on a external harddrive (Toshiba DTB305). I've shut down everything but PP in order to feed it as much CPU power as I can.Upgrading my laptop is no-go. But I'm considering moving the
