Hello,I'm trying different export scenarios for an HD XDCAM EX 1080i (HQ) 25fps sequence.If I use the default PAL DV AVI or OP1a XDCAM EX 35mbps preset with CUDA accelerated MPE(Mercury playback engine) the CPU usage on export is 80%+ and the export is very fast.If I use the default OP1a SD presets with CUDA accelerated MPE the export speed is very slow and CPU usage is below 10%.If I use any other "custom" SD or HD AVI codec setting CPU usage on exports falls below 10% with CUDA accelerated MPE.CPU usage stays at below 75% with software only rendering. Export with software only MPE is a bit slower than with hardware accelerated MPE with default presets.Is there a particular reason for CPU usage to fall with custom settings?Premiere is 2017.1.2Media Encoder is 2017.1.2The system is Lenovo Thinkpad W520CPU: Intel Core i7 2760QMGPU: Quadro 2000MRAM: 8GB[Moderator note: moved to appropriate forum]

Helloi have premiere 2017 pro , and i try to render movie and i get BSOD screen, i managed to understnad that only when my CPU works on turbo mode i get these screen and only in render in 720P and up, so i disable these turbo mode and everything is works correct (except two times i got the BSOD)my hardware is :i7-4790K8GB ram (checked and found ok in memtest 86+)geforce 970GTX (also tried to work without him)asus maximus vii rangerssdin other laptop the render was okso what is the problem?thank you

I found my gpu performance monitoring software was showing a very little usage (or none) when using Premiere Pro 2017 in tasks where supposedly are accelerated by the graphics card such as warp stabilizer, exporting, etc. I only was able to see certain peaks of activity but inmediatelly go down to 0% and searching the web and this forum I found other people are worried about this.Is the GPU helping?So I made some test.Here is my build:i7 3820 oc at 4,6ghz 4 cores 8 threads (this old boy keeps giving nice performance)32gb ramgtx 1050 tios and apps in SSDproject files, cache, renders and exports in a Samsung 960 evo m.2 disk via pcie adapterI did some test with and without gpu acceleration in project settings with two 17 sec clips 1080 50p and 4k 25p(gigabyte gpu monitoring software and GPU-z is what I use to see activity)*minutes                          &nbs

Hello everybody.Does anybody work with Premiere 2017 on system with 2 CPUs? I've got one CPU and want to boost it a bit and I wonder if the second CPU worth it or it would be better to buy a new CPU to solve the issue. (My system is 1x Xeon 2620v4 + 1x nvidia quadro M4000).

When I start a new project, I cant seem to pick the options under Generel then Renderer. It has Mercury Playback Engine Software Only written in it. Any reason why?

I have a hardware question. I'm running the CS6 suite to edit video. My system specs are: AMD Quad-core CPU running at 4.1 Ghz, 24GB of DDR3 Ram, 250GB SSD as my main drive (O.S. & programs only), 120GB SSD as my working drive for video, and 3TB WD 7,200rpm drive for storage. I am currently using on-baord graphics of the MoBo which is inadequate for 1080p video at higher bitrates. The list of officially supported cards for CS6 is short and not very powerful. I'd like to upgrade to something a little better. I have in mind a GTX 1050 (not on the list) and was told by someone on an other section of this forum that I could amend the cuda_supported_cards.txt file by adding this model and saving it but she referred me to the hardware forum to be sure. Anyone know if this will work? Anyone running CS6 with a newer video card not on the list? Any recommendations or suggestions? Thanks.[Please do not double post, deleted thread in cs6 forum, mod]

Hello! I posted this in the lounge, not realizing this was the best place for subject.....sorry for the duplication.... I have to make a purchase and am having trouble deciding between the Vaio Z Flip and Microsoft Surface Book.  This will pretty much be my everything computer. and the capability of utilizing a desktop screen at times. I require business use as well. which is simple standard MS office software.Please let me know what your experiences are with these choices. I am looking into buying a new laptop and I want to make sure I  get one with the appropriate specs to run these three applications in particular. The specs I want already are a intel core i7 cpu, 16 GB RAM, and at least a 512 GB SSD. I am unsure what kind of graphics are needed to run these three programs. Any help would be appreciated.

Issue number 1: my rendering/exporting is very slow with or without cuda enabled. I just bulit a powerful pc (i7 770k, liquid cooling, gtx 1060 6gb, 16 gig ram ddr4) yet it takes me 40mins to an hour to render a less than 2 minute video I edited. I used a lot of effects but surely it wouldn't take that long right? Also when I was render a preview it said it would take an hour and 30 minutes with cuda enabled but 9 minutes without. Issue 2 is that the video I want to render won't render in 1920x1080 resolution. I'd assume one of the clips I have is messing with the resolution but my settings are set to 1920 and that's what it says the source is when I goto export. When I try to force the resolution the black borders I put over get distored. Are the black borders causing the issue. I will provide more info tomorrow if anyone needs it. Thank you all

I am working on a 1.5 hr video using HD footage from multiple cameras and stabilizer effects as well as Magic Bullet plugins for color and lighting. Normally every thing works smoothly, I have a high-performance desktop I built specifically for this kind of work. Generally I haven't had any problems because projects I work on are much smaller then this one. As the timeline gets more busy the slow response is becoming unbearable. As far as I can see from various hardware monitors none of my hardware is being maxed out, besides when rendering, which is normal. When idle Ram is at 45% capacity, my media drive shows at most 50% of transfer bandwidth being used. Specs are below, any ideas on what might be causing the lag? I currently use InDesign and Photoshop CC for my work, using a 2014 Mac Mini OSx. I will be traveling extensively over the next 6 months, and need to get a laptop to continue my work while on the road. While I would like to get a MacBook Pro, or at least stick with Mac products, I cannot afford the expenditure at the time, and am looking at used PC-based laptops.  Can anyone tell me if either of these two computers would be sufficient to run InDesign and Photoshop (CC)? I have installed a brand new GTX1080ti on my Windows 10 system, with CC2017 suiteWhen I start rendering (of course with Mercury GPU acceleration selected) or exporting i see all may CPU cores (Intel cores i mean) go up to 100%, and al the case FANs increase airflow; but the GTX temperature, fan speed and GPU usage remains very low (I can see this with the ASUS GTX monitor utility).Have I to think that rendering is not working with my card? How could I check this? Have I to set something special as I have done in the past with a GTX670?Thanks all for any idea.

Yibada website is rumoring that the new AMD flagship Ryzen CPU will feature a fully unlocked 8core/16 thread CPU which will maybe equal,or, even surpass the Intel 6900K CPU at a price of between $400 and $499. This price would be HALF of intels current $1,000 for the 6900K !! Considering that tests by Puget systems and others show that an 8 core / 16 thread CPU is a "sweet spot" for most performance tasks with PPro, if true, this news would be welcome to budget system builders. The great question is if the Ryzen CPU will actually perform well with PPro. In the past, the lack of certain " instructions" on AMD CPUs caused them not to be able to compete with the performance of intel CPUs with PPro. Will the same happen this time ?      I believe the "cache" sizes on the new Ryzen CPU may be smaller along with less Gen.3 PCI lanes. However, at this low price, the PPro performance may be only a little affected....someone will have to test it !!   &nbs

Hello again,After my relocation to another residence, I have been using only my older generation i7-4790K/GTX 970 tower system, and have my mini ITX newer generation (i7-7700/GTX 1060) system now in storage. I now intend to keep the mini system in storage for parts or a spare lower-spec system, and decide to just upgrade parts in my tower PC instead.I do not want to spend a lot of money with this upgrade/update (I had spent too much money for component upgrades earlier this year).Here are my current choices:1) Simply retire my tower system's current GTX 970 and move the GTX 1060 from my mini breadbox PC to my tower PC.2) Move the GTX 1060 from my breadbox to my tower, buy a new motherboard (most likely an H270 or Z270 chipset model) for my tower PC, and move my i7-7700 and 16GB of DDR4-2400 RAM from the breadbox to the tower.3) Move the GTX 1060 from the breadbox to the tower, buy a whole new platform (more than likely an AMD Ryzen) for my tower, and buy new RAM for it.Of those three c
