Thanks for sharing your feedback about disconnecting a path, I am assuming you are referring to Scissor or knife tool. A similar request has been raised here: -Scissor tool/slice vector path – Adobe XD Feedback : Feature Requests & Bugs. Please upvote this request and share your comments as well.

As a workaround, you may export the figure as .svg and take it to Adobe Illustrator as mentioned here: - Learn how to export production-ready assets from Adobe XD to PNG, SVG, JPG, and PDF files and do the required changes or you can create the path or shape in Adobe Illustrator and import it in XD as well: - Bring assets from other applications into Adobe XD.
