Acrobat Reader

Employee has a manual that is a series of PDFs linked together to navigate around it. I open the Index PDF which has a few buttons to go to other PDFs in the same folder. I click one of the links, the PDF it is pointing to will then open and error out: "This PDF cannot be viewed in Acrobat or Reader, and the application will now exit."  With protection enabled it tells me which PDF it is pointing at, and I try manually opening it and it has no issues opening that PDF. I took the files and attempted it on my computer as well using Acrobat instead and get the exact same error.   

Since I updated Adobe, when I open a self-filling PDF and click it closes, the only way I found to keep it from closing is by hitting the tab key first. Does this happen to anyone too or do you have a solution? Thank you

I suddenly have a problem where Adobe Reader will not print. It has printed fine for years (various MACs and OSs), but with no change to the current system, it now fails with an error message (and the printer spits out a blank page). I ran through Adobe's troubleshooting list - no solution. I verified print capability on an identical MAC on the same system and printer - worked fine. I reinstalled Adobe Reader - Nope. I went ahead and upgraded to the current MAC OS - Nope. I re-reinstalled Adobe Reader - NopeAll along and still, my computer will print fine via other apps.Adobe Reader v2024.001.20615 (up to date)MACMini M1 16GB Sonoma 14.4 (up to date)Epson ET-4760 (driver up to date)Adobe Reader is useless to me unless I can print my PDFs.

I am running Reader version 2020.006.20034 (latest version). Running windows 10 home. I cannot type text in any of the text edit functions. I can create a text box. The cursor shows up but when I type, the cursor only blinks, doesn't move and no text shows up. Same with "add text comment" or "insert text at cursor" commands. In each of those, the cursor shows up but when I start typing but nothing happens. Other edit functions work such as "draw" or "highlight". All of the permissions for commenting are set to allow comments. No protections. I have tried unintalling and reinstalling several times. Doesn't help. I have searched Google on this topic. Many have the issue. Haven't found a fix. Again, settings are set to allow comments and no, I am not typing white text on a white background. The text functions worked up until a few months ago.

Ever since the previous update (likely 23.008.20533), I can't update Acrobat Reader. When I try to perform updates, I get this error that says "An error occurred; Please check for updates again later. Error: 130200" This is after I completely uninstalled Acrobat Reader and even turned off my antivirus.  I note that I appear to currently have the latest version. The solutions in the below threads are not sustainable. Hallo, Ich habe ein Problem beim Speichern von PDFs auf mac. . Alle pdfs, die ich abspeichere, egal ob über "sichern" oder "exportieren", werden mir nach späterem öffnen leer angezeigt, obwohl die Dateien die originale Größe haben? Weiß jemand Abhilfe?

Hallo,zum wiederholten Mal habe ich zwei PDF Dateien nach dem Bearbeiten über den Adobe Reader in meinen ES Speicher kopiert, um so außerhalb der "zuletzt verwendet"-Kategorie des Readers Zugriff darauf zu haben. Leider ist es nun schon das zweite Mal passiert, dass ich die Dateien nicht mehr öffnen kann, weil sie plötzlich leer sind.. es waren PowerPoint-Folien als PDFs, die ich kommentiert habe und ich kann sie weder per Reader, noch über des ES Speicher öffnen, überall, wo ich sie finden kann, sind sie leer. Kennt jemand dieses Problem und hat vielleicht eine Idee, wie man sie wiederherstellen könnte? Ich wäre riesig dankbar, denn ich hatte echt viel Zeit in diese Dateien investiert..LG

How do I remove my Acrobat Reader as the default reader? I want to go back to my Previewer in my Mac system as the default.

What a headache—especially for designers working with PDFs all day! Scroll bar appears for a second when the PDF is re-sized, then disappear immediately, never to return. This is a major issue. None of the suggestions in other threads solve the problem—scrolling is enable, touch mode is on never, not hiding menu, toolbars etc.  Issue is on a desktop computer MacOS.

Hi, I have Qualified Electronic Signature provided by Cencert.pl placed in USB card reader.My system is Windows 10 pro 64 bit, fully updated.Problem started 28th of march (yesterday) about 9.20 pm, during signing documents (via Certificatins tool)  Adobe Reader DC it stops showing to me window with filename to save. To reproduce my issue: 1. Open any pdf document2. Choose certificates tool box3. Choose and draw siganture box using pen tool4. Choose Identifier form the list, and press blue Continue5. Choose signature and press blue "Sign"6. Enter my PIN code7. Nothing happened - still window from point no. 5 with blue "sign" button. ("Sign as ..."). I only can close this windows pressing "back" button" I am 3-years-experienced user using QES and had no issue till yesterday. What I already did and not helped:- Disabled and then uninstalled firewall (Eset Security) and reinstalled.- Tried to connect to different network/- Upgraded Adobre Reader to newest version.-

Hi,I am currently trying to create a button link from one PDF document to another. I create this via "All Tools" then "Add rich media" or "Prepare a form" then click on "Button".  In the action tab, "Open a file" is selected for "Select Action" and then I chose the PDF document I want to open up. After the button has been created, I test it by clicking on it but I recive the error in the screenshot below.Is anyone able to suggest any ideas.Thanks.

In the current release 2023,008,20555 - x64 i got some issues with saving a modified file. When i save the file with a different name everything is fine.When saving the file with the same name and overwriting it the file loses every inherited file rights.Inheritance is simply deactivated for the file after Acrobat Reader has overwritten it.  Someone else expecting this behavior?Any advice? (Tested on two different Clients - One Server, one Workstation)

We've noticed error message 'Adobe RdrCEF has stopped working' on our company's older Windows 10 desktop computers. It is popping up upon opening .pdf files. Fixes we have tried, but did not help:1. Delete or rename RdrCEF.exe and RdrServicesUpdater.exe,2. Complete reinstall by using the cleaner tool,3. Update to newest version of Adobe Reader by using bash script Adobe Reader only works when downloading online installer and installing it manually, but we are distributing Adobe Reader to 100's of computers and this solution is not optimal.

Can anyone in Adobe fix this issue that a lot of people are having after they've updated to the latest MacOS 14?! Why are we paying for a service that ignores the customers problems?! We need answers now. If anyone has an alternative please let me know, thank you.

hello The option of Edit>prefrence>replace document colors. doesn't work on scanned pdf, but in the android app the night mode works even eith scanned pdf. so is there a way to turn the background of a scanned pdf to black with Adobe reader desktop version?

I have at least three computers in my network that scan frequently and heavily. They rely upon the preview function to identify files and move them accordingly and it slows them down to open the files. For some reason, the preview function has stopped working in Windows 10 File Explorer. It will work on my machine and several others just not these heavy scanners/users. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, updated the version, checked the permission to allow preview in the app, and even mirrored their settings to my own. I also cleared the temp files No matter what I do I cannot get this preview to work. Any suggestions are appreciated. I am at a loss at this point.

I have a PDF form I've been filling out for some time. It consists of the editable fields overlaid on top of a non-printing background--it's printed onto a readymade form with the same page elements, so the background doesn't get printed.It worked fine under OS X up to Big Sur, which was the most recent version my old iMac could go to. When I bought a Mac Mini with Sonoma installed, it wouldn't work. The problem was that numbers would get cut off within a field--they would be visible when that field is active, e.g.,123but when that field wasn't being edited at least one character would become hidden:12This happened in Preview and third-party apps like PDF Professional.So I downloaded and installed the latest Reader, and now those fields function but I have two different problems:1) it only properly places all the fields if Print>Page Sizing and Handling is set to "Actual Size," but the very bottom of the bottommost field is cut off, i.e., the bottom 10-15% of numbers like 12345

Hello everybody, I've been trying for a couple of days to edit pdf (with the signature tool) in Arabic, with the letters I don't have any kind of problem but when I enter the numbers I don't get them in arabic, it's curious because if instead of a signature I create a note, in that case I get the numbers in arabic and if I copy and paste them to the signature in that case if they stay in arabic format.If we do a search for applications within adobe I also get the numbers in arabic.That is to say, it seems that with all the tools the numbers come out in arabic except with the signature.Could someone help me in this case? Adobe Acrobat Reader 2023.008.20533 In the end, all we want is to be able to write over a pdf with text and arabic numbers.Thank you very much in advance.

Good morning, I have a problem with viewing some PDF files downloaded from the newspaper "Il sole 24 ore". Unfortunately the files read very blurry with Adobe Reader, we have all versions, from the oldest to the latest updates. Other pdf files are read correctly. I thank anyone who can help me. Christian

When i press fill & sign and write in Hebrew the letters are disappear

When a Windows application opens off-screen, mousing over the open window in the toolbar, right-clicking and choosing Move should allow you to relocate the window using the arrow keys. Normally touching an arrow key and then moving your cursor shows the window now attached to the cursor and you can drop it on your active screen. Adobe Reader does not follow this behavior, instead passing the arrow key presses into the open document. Of all my Windows programs, only Adobe Reader fails to follow this Windows standard and it forces me to reconnect the monitor in order to interact with the open window. This is a Windows standard function. Can Adobe Reader be fixed to follow this standard procedure?

Hi !Since a couple of days, i am not able to write a text block comment onto a pdf file. When I click somewhere on the pdf sheet the message appears as following : " Operation Failed  : Adobe Acrobat had an unknown error".This tool was operating well and since a couple of days, unable to use it anymore. Any hint about wass is going on ?

Hello Team,  i am facing issue which is generated from SAP , while opening the pdf file in webpage , Hebrew characters are ok but when opened same PDF in ADOBE the HE characters are box type ( i man miscelleanous) , do any one has a solution on this , version is 2023.008.20533. Thanks & best regards,Vijay
