Acrobat Reader

I have struggled with using Acrobat for years. It is such a burden to try to use it, even to simply read a pdf file. The interface is at least five times slower than any other Adobe product I have used. Re-sizing the window without a pdf open is ABSURDLY slow. Many pdfs are slower than dirt to view. It is absolutely insane to me that Adobe—with its reputation—continues to produce a product as awful as this. I would expect this from a Microsoft product, not from Adobe. And, as I said, this has been going on for YEARS NOW. I have a Mac Mini M1 now, and its still slower than a two-legged horse. I just saw that it has M1 support—who could tell? I have used Acrobat across numerous machines. There is no excuse for this.

Is there a way to print a rack card size pdf 3-up in Acrobat Reader? I'm able to do it on one of my computers but when I send the same document to someone else who doesn't have Acrobat Pro, they aren't able to specify printing on multiples of 3 to a page.

Our Adobe clients appear to have autoupdated recently to 22.002.20191We are currently running Server 2012 R2 for some legacy business applications which are not compatible with the near OS version.  The servers are in a Citrix terminal environement and we are seeing frequent pop-ups for RdrCEF.exe - Application Error      The exception unknown software exception (0x06d007e) occuring in the application at location 0x749e4128.  The error  does not show up immediatly in all situations, but may show up a few minutes later.  As this is a Citrix Terminal Server environment, when Adobe is opened for any user, multiple users receive the pop-up.   With only 1 user on the server,  the pop-up will show up sometimes multiple times over itself.    Going to Help > About in Adobe Reader will cause the pop-up to display immediately.  Previously we were able to mitigate these issues by using a series of registry / settings tw

Hello, Is anyone having issues with Adobe Reader installing 32bit instead of the 64bit version. After the recent update with Adobe Reader one of our applications that uses Adobe Reader creashes now. When we install Acrobat Pro DC 64 bit, the application works correctly. Can anyone point me in the right direction for the 64 bit offline installer? This has been frustrating because the users that are using reader do not need Acrobat Pro DC.

Where can I disable this horrible pop up screen of "recent" documents that appears when I print a document without opening ( so called fast print) ?Or how can I set it to stay in minimized status like I had in the adobe version before the update?  because when I do now, it shows up again in full size when I hit the print button 😞 not wanted when printing a lot of documents out of emails and maps per day and then have to minimize it after each print.thanks in advance

Hi need help to get the red number 1 off my app I checked everything notifications nothing is there I like to keep the numbers off my apps like emails it shows you how many emails you have the same thing on Acrobat Reader does anyone know how to get the number 1 in red off my app. That's Steve

I have a set of 7 PDF files which contain genealogy reference information that I use almost daily. Over the years, I have discovered errors or omissions in these documents, so I have been using the 'Add sticky note' function of Reader. Now I notice that on some of these documents, the first page (a title page) is missing information and reformatted. I saved original unmodified versions of each of these files. Is there a way to copy the first page of the original PDF and overwrite the first page of the corrupted file? I do not want to lose the sticky notes I have applied, nor do I want to mess up the original documents.  Suggestions? Thanks in advance, Rick.

I want to use the signature pad for pdf files opened with Acrobat Reader. At the moment I use the signPro app from Wacom and this works. But the preview is very small so I would like to know whether there is a way to sign direcctly in Adobe Reader using the Wacom tablet. 

Hello,I have Adobe Acrobat Reader DC running in a Server 2022 RDS environment. I don't believe we've had this issue before, but it seems now we cannot open certain embedded attachment types that might be embedded in a PDF. For instance, a PDF will have a JPG attachment that has been embedded into the PDF via the Comment > "add a new attachment" option. Upon trying to open said embedded attachment, it'll pop up an error saying "This file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action. Please install an app or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Apps Settings page". Well, there is an app associated for JPG files, so this message is wrong.  As a workaround, I can right-click the embedded file and choose "Save Embedded File to Disk...". After saving the file somewhere, I can double-click it and it'll open in the app that is associated with that file extension, as you'd expect. So, there's something up with Adobe Acrobat R

Give me the bad news.  I have Acrobat DC and have for sometime.  Whenever I try to combine two open PDF's it sends me to the "Subscribe here for $14,99 / Month"   I'm screwed out of the feature right?  OR help me find it please.  If its gone im leaving ADOBE.  Walt in Oregon   

Can the digital pen be used to make notes and sketches in the pdf file?

hi Guys - I have a index.pdf which has hyperlinks to other PDF files ( A.pdf  B.pdf C.pdf etc) in the same folder.. when i click the link for A.pdf - both Adobe Reader and Adobe Pro close the index.pdf and open A.pdf in its place. I want a.pdf to open as a new instance or in a new tab.I have used a create custom linsk from text Java toolplease help

I am saving a fill form.  The spaces that I completed in the form, will not save closed.  My saved document would allow me to go in and change them.  How do I get those fillable areas to close?  I've never had this before and I used this program for years 

I have an 8-page word document. After page 5, none of the hyperlinks work when the document is exported to pdf, using "export to pdf".There are no corresponding section breaks.  I can't imagine it is a settings issue, since most of them work fine unless it's on the last couple of pages.

Query: Im using acrobat reader DC on the company by downloading on adobe.com.then im using the fill&sign for the the documents to sign & fill the form or add text for the form like SSS or any documents that related to company. it's that be okay to use for free? or need to buy license? if there is any violation?  

Hi Adobe Team, I signed a pdf with a self-signed certificate. My question in this regard is, what the validation process is all about.What does "Signature is valid" really mean and under what conditions the signature becomes invalid?Is there any calculation of a delta in the doc revisions? Do you have any good references (technical article at best) for me? Kind regards, Daniel

Hallo liebe Community,wir haben auf einem Terminalserver sowohl den Adobe Reader als auch Adobe Acrobat installiert.Nur ausgewählte User haben Adobe Acrobat mit einem Adobe-Konto angemeldet, die allermeisten nicht. Wir haben eine Excel-Datei, die Hyperlinks zu PDF-Dateien im Dateisystem enthält. Wenn diese Hyperlinks angeklickt werden, wird grundsätzlich die PDF mit Adobe Acrobat geöffnet, obwohl der Reader als Standardprogramm eingestellt ist.Bei allen, die nicht mit einem Konto im Adobe Acrobat angemeldet sind, schließt sich die Datei sofort wieder, weil das Programm eben in dem Moment nicht lizenziert ist.Gibt es eine Möglichkeit Windows 10 bzw. Office 2019 zu zwingen, die PDF aus dem Hyperlink mit Adobe Reader zu öffnen? Egal was wir tun, der Adobe Acrobat drängelt sich an dieser Stelle immer vor. Ich hoffe, jemand hat hierzu eine Idee? Hello there, I got my 14" Macbook Pro with M1 Pro chip recently. When I tried to open any PDF file in my Google Drive with Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, it won't respond. I have checked these files on my Google Drive are good, since I can open them with Books app, Chrome or Zotero on my Mac. If I add my Google Drive as a file storage in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, I can open these PDFs from choosing them in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC/Google Drive/. However, when I back to my Finder/Google Drive/ and double click the same files or right click -> open with -> Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (default), the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC cannot open the file. Any suggestion for fixing this problem will be helpful. Best,Tianyi

Have been completing a PDF fillable form fine all day, have been able to use the enter/return key to start new paragraphs. Suddenly am unable to. Nothing happens when I press enter/return. Also when I type the text just runs on and on right through the text box wall so you can't read it. It doesn't automatically create a new line once it reaches the text box perimeter like it should. Any ideas?
