Acrobat Reader

The error message reads:  "The Acrobat PDF browser plug-in is missing.  Please reinstall Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Acrobat Reader to fix this problem".   I have had our IT company, the CCH software company, and Adobe technical support ALL remote in my computer and ALL of them have uninstalled, reinstalled, updated and downloaded current Acrobat Reader.  None of them have been able to fix the issue causing the error message.  I cannot view current or past invoices of our clients.  PLEASE HELP ASAP.  This error message started yesterday 2/10/21 and still continues.     

The new version downloaded yesterday and will not print 11 x 17 pdf correctly. We use this with our main software to auto print docs and now that feature is useless. Is there a fix for this? 

It is displayed that the update failed. The content of the dialog is "This is a probrem with this Windows Installer package. A Program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contace your support personal or package vendor. We observed Adobe Acrobat Reader 21.001.20135 version is perventing users from connecting to global protect. If the users login in Global protect and the screen freezes and there is a background error message which says 'The Acrobat PDF browser plug -in is missing Please reinstall Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Acrobat Reader to fix this problem. Please reinstall Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Acrobat Reader to fix this problem" After uninstalling the Reader users are able to login to Global Protect. We see IE Addons of Adobe Enabled still we see the issue. Tried disabling the add on but no luck? Any one facing similar issue? Any thoughts on how to fix this issue?  

Hi,  When I download my document on Adobe Acrobat Reader DC it says for the title, "Omar Sarwar," but I do not know why that got there.  I go to "document properties" to try to switch the title and it's locked and does not allow me to change this.  How do I change this so that this does not show up at the top of the document.  Thanks!  Sincerely, Ken 

I have a MacBook Air with macOS Majave v. 10.14.2 and Adobe Reader DC v. 2019.010.20064.  While I am able to open Adobe, I cannot view, see, or use any of the Adobe pdf files.  This applies when I open Adobe first and search for a file and when I click directly on the file to open from my desktop.  I have un-installed and re-installed twice now.  Need assistance.

Everytime I try to open a PDF it ask for a verification code when signing in to Adobe.  I have to put in my email address, wait for a verification code on my phone then sign in with a password - this is everytime I open a PDF!! How can this be prevent, our own IT say they do not have access to Adobe servers so I need to raise it with Adobe themseves? Any ideas

Bonjour à tous,  Je travail sur un formulair interactif qui fonctionne avec des boutons et des calques. J'aimerai tout simplement qu'un calque s'affiche si on clique sur un bouton et qu'il soit masqué si on clique sur l'autre bouton.  Je n'ai aucun problème pour configurer cela dans Acrobat, ça fonctionne bien. Seulement, lorsque je souhaite ouvrir le PDF avec un autre lecteur (notamment via Chrome ou IE) rien ne se passe... Est ce que j'ai oublié de configurer quelque chose ? Est ce qu'il est impossible de travailler avec des boutons dans d'autres lecteurs qu'Adobre reader ?  Merci pour votra aide ! 🙂 Bastien

I am trying to disable Adobe Reader DC Internet Explorer plugin on about 100 computers. I need Adobe Reader to run inderpendantly. I can do this with other apps via Group Policy but not with Adobe Reader.If I disable the ActiveX pluging manally like so (as per Acrobat Help | Display PDF in browser | Acrobat DC, Acrobat Reader DC😞...PDF documents still open from within the browser. It seems it is dependent on Visual C++ Redistributable 2015, which is not on my computer.  The latest one I have is 2012.      In my day, program installation packages were responsible for bringing along everything it needed to the party.  Guess that's not the case anymore, or at least for Adobe. I get an error that my PC is missing api-ms-win-crt-string-i1-1-0.dll, which I learned is in VC++ 2015.   Yes, I know its 2021 now but so what?    I really don't want to de-stabilize my old but trusty PC just for a PDF viewer.  You know the domino effect...a single VC++ dll installation can cause all kinds of unexpected surprises and side affects. My current Reader 9 (circa 2011) is not behaving quite right on some new PDF files so I thought it was time for an upgrade, but maybe not worth the trouble.  Boy, time flies!!!! Is it possible to get an older version of Reader DC that perhaps doesn't have this dependency?&nbsp

How do I make it go away forever? It's not helpful. It blocks text at the bottom of the page that I want to read, highlight, comment on, copy, etc.

My Acrobat writer crashes regularly. Especially when opening files that have been created by CAD programmes.  What can I do about this?

I am unable to change my name, which is shown when for example i leave a comment. It is in a grey field, which i can't change. I made an account, i was in the settings (identity), but i am not able to change this name. I uninstalled it, i rebooted, but nothing helped to solve the problem. Es ist nicht möglich den Anmeldenamen zu ändern, den Namen den man sieht, wenn ich zum Beispiel ein Kommentar einfüge.. Dieser bleibt in einem grauen Feld, dass ich nicht verändern kann. Ich habe einen Account gemacht. Ja ich war in den Einstellungen bei Identität, aber das Feld mit "Anmeldename" bleibt grau unterlegt und nicht veränderbar. Ich habe es schon deinstalliert, neugestartet, aber nichts hilft.

Does anyone know how to change the parameters on Adobe to have the slide bar on the left side of the screen alongside the options bar (comment, sign, etc....). Indeed, I am left-handed and like to use Adobe PDF reader in the tablet mode of my computer and take not with a pencil, unfortunately, I cannot move the bar to the left side and, it would facilitate the usability of the application if such change were possible. If it's not possible to do so, how could we recommend for future versions? Thank you for your help!

Hi.  I recently purchased an M1 MacBook Pro. Earlier the 'Comment' tab (in tools section) used to show all features like Text Underline, Strikethrough, Annotation, shape insertion etc. Recently when I opened the app all these things are not coming. I thought that this is an issue of the Apple Silicon SoC, (M1 Chipset), but my friend having the same MacBook (with M1 chip) is getting all the options. I am stuck. How to install the correct version with all features. I am attaching two screenshots, one of my Mac and one of my friend's Mac. I don't know if anyone else has this issue, I use a Windows 10 laptop and I have been trying to attach video files in my PDFs. When I browse through my files and attach the video, in the corner it would say 'click to activate' and when I do, it automatically force closes Acrobat DC every single time. For some reason I can't add video files? I have the latest version - version 21.0The video files I'm trying to add are .mp4

I've tried everything to get them back to being PDFs but no posted solutions work.  People can read them.  When I select "Output to PDF" in Word Perfect it works as always has, but what is saved is the Firefox HTML files.  This would not matter IF I had not needed to export back to WP because something got lost and all I had was the PDF.  1500 words or so too long to want to retype. I should be able to open the PDF in WP no problem and it will convert it back.  It can't because it doesn't recognize it!  And to forestall the inevitable question, I do not WANT to switch to MS Word.  Subject closed.  Moving on.  One suggestion was to go into Adobe Acrobat reader and make it the default PDF handler.  Worked for that person, not for me.  There are several options to output PDFs back to their original but only seem to be Microsoft options.  Any help would be appreciated!  Waiting on answer from Firefox community but have no hop
