Hi,I have a PDF file which is displaying garbage characters in Acrobat Reader 24.002.20687. I have no problem reading in with Edge, Firefox, Brave and another windows 10/11 PCs. The fonts are just Arial which are preinstalled into the PC. I have uninstall and re-install reader for a couple of times and still unable to read it properly. Any idea?
I only want to view and save PDFs. I do not want to upgrade. Currently I cannot view PDFs because Adobe keeps asking me to upgrade. How do I disable the upgrade requests?
In Prefs, I have the "Show Home Screen when all documents are closed" un-checked Home screen won't go away Version 2024.002.20687 c'mon Adobe. We pay a lot for this software
I open a PDF and try to share it by email and all I get is a damn circle rotating. What am I missing?
I am extremely frustrated with how many hoops and difficulties I have had every step of the way to download, read, and edit this file. I finally have it filled out, but I have no option to validate or sign it in any way. I am at my wits end trying to find updated or recent fixes to the issues I am having. I would appreciate any insight, as I am losing my mind over this. My adobe is 2024.001.20643 PDF Version 1.7. Adobe Extension Level 8 (Acobat X) -Thank you
I have created a document in Microsoft 365 (Word). It uses bookmarks and links extensively. The bookmarks and links work properly in Word.I save it as a PDF. But then the problems start.I view the PDF document in Adobe Reader (no updates are available or so it reports). The bookmarks appear (and work) in the body of the document. When I click the Bookmarks icon a pane appears, headed Bookmarks, but there are no bookmarks listed!Much of the online help refers to the old interface for Reader but when I switch to that, the Bookmarks icon is missing.Sorry, but I can't attach the file; it's proprietary. What am I doing wrong? Or, what is Reader doing wrong? Or is it the save in Word that is causing problems?
I have an Amazon Fire HD8+ tablet; and when I try to download the Adobe Acrobat Reader Edit PDF app, it finishes the download's progress bar, but it will not install. I receive an error message: "Install failed!" According to the Amazon Appstore and also on Amazon's website (https://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Acrobat-Reader-Edit-PDF/dp/B0C9QWV9K2/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8)the app is compatible with my device. An Amazon Help tech spent 45 minutes with me on the phone trying to find a solution, even consulting with a senior specialist, to no avail. I was told to contact Adobe. I sent an email requesting help, but I thought perhaps other Fire-tablet owners may have had this failed installation and found a work-around. I'm hoping that an Adobe specialist may see this question and provide a downloading method that works.
Can someone help me understand what I should do when the same text boxes appear in multiple pages and causing the duplicate text boxes to appear in inappropriate places on the other pages of the document? When I delete those text boxes, all the other duplicates, including the original, disappears. I asked before, and the answer was "if the fields have the same name/label, this will happen. Please make sure that the fields on different pages have different names/labels." I don't exactly know how to do that. I want to put a stop to that somehow, but couldn't figure it out. Thank you for your assistance.
Hello all,I am trying to type in my adobe document and this e-sign tool keeps popping up in every field and does not allow me to type. The tool is not allowing me to edit the PDF either. It is basically blocking everything. How do I disable it? I just want to type. It's pictured with a red circle above
Hi guys, Does anyone know how to turn off or remove this? It displays whenever I click a dropdown field.Thank you
I have several PDF forms that I fill in and save as my job jackets. The original was created in 2019 and has worked great until last Thursday. Now, When I go to fill in my information, the Fill In Form is greyed out and I have to click on Request E-Signatures and then cancel out of all pop up menus. HOW DO I TURN THIS OFF??
So, I have an issye where reading black writing on a white background gives me massive headache, and tends to cause more visual disturbances on the page (i.e. shadows of words floating around on the page is not fun). As a student who has to read a lot of journal articles this is....less than ideal. My question is this: does the PDF reader have any ways i can add a coloured overlay over existing PDF's to make reading them easier?
I have created a form, everytime i click in a box to fill it in, this happens (see image). It wont let me fill it and displays like a signature icon. How do i remove this?
Hello all. Hope someone can help me with this.We use fillable forms at work for proposal sheets.Since yesterday, when I go to select a form to enter text (as I have done for 5+ years without issue on these very same forms) this happens: The whole field is highlighted and this little e-sign context menu pops up. I can't get rid of it and I can't enter any text in the fields at all while it's doing this. Please help!
All of a sudden, Adobe Acrobat does not allow me to enter text into a fillable form text field. When I click on the form field, the field populates with a darkened box and this popup menu shows up. I have unistalled and reinstalled the latest version. What is causing this problem? The only way it allows me to enter text is if I press "TAB" on the keyboard and the cursor jumps to the next box.
I have a fillable PDF with text already typed in the "fillable" boxes. I am trying to edit this text and a box is popping up with my only option being to send for e-signatures. In the example I attached, "Occupational Therapy" is typed in the fillable box and I am trying to edit the text there but another box keeps popping up over it. Please help
As of today 4/17/24 our companies report is in PDF format and will NOT allow any of us to fill in the required fields of our reports. Anyone have any idea as to what or why this is happening?
I just installed Windows 10 today, and now I can't print PDFs. I can select my printer as an option, but when I hit print, nothing happens - no printer icon, no printer queue. I can print other documents, just not PDFs.
Hello,I am using a Macbook with a fresh installation of MacOS Mojave. Sometimes I'll get PDFs that when trying to open them in Preview or in a web browser, they only display a warning like so:When this happens, I always open the file in Adobe Reader and I'm able to get in. However, recently, there have been a number of PDFs that show this error even when opening them in Adobe Reader. Just now, a co-worker needed to fill out a form. So I found the blank form and verified that I could open it in Reader and then sent it to him. He filled it out (again, using Reader on his laptop), and then sent me back the file. But when I try to open it to make sure he filled out all the right information, I just get that error message. Please advise - how can I get Adobe Reader to properly open these PDFs?Thanks,Doug

Hello,I'm trying to use the Adobe Customization Tool to build a transforms file to deploy Reader to Windows Server 2016 Std for remote desktop server session hosts. Whenever I deploy the basic application using the transform file, it installs okay, but when the local administrator runs the application, it crashes (application event log below). Now if I download the generic Adobe Reader application as a regular home user would, and install that on the server, it works fine. Would anyone have any tips on what I may be missing when creating my deployment package for Windows Server? I'm not doing anything fancy, just removing the desktop icon, accepting defaults. I downloaded the recomended EXE installer file, extracted the contents, and loaded the MSI into the customization tool to build a new transform file. To install, I used the recommended MSI installer command with the transform switch pointing to my custom MST file (msiexec /i "AcroRead.msi" /q TRAN
No matter how I change the default pdf viewer over to Adobe I still get it reverted to Microsoft Edge. It may take 5 minutes and it may take a week, but it will revert to Edge. What needs done to stop this from happening?

We're having the problem at one customer, if they open a PDF file directly and close it shortly afterwards, so that the upsell message has no time to pop up, then the app crashes. If you start the app first and choose a PDF file to open and close it before the upsell message apears, then the app doesn't crash. I tried to disable the upsell message with the registry key HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Policies\Adobe\(product name)\(version)\FeatureLockDown bAcroSuppressUpsell from here:https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/PrefRef/Windows/index.html but it won't work and the message still appears. Am I using the wrong registry key? Is this issue known? The system is a terminal server environment with a Windows Server 2016 and Acrobat Reader Any help is appreciated.Best regards,Joël Schöni
