Created a pdf document and inserted 300 dpi tiff images, then saved as a pdf. Looked great. When it was uploaded to Amazon's 'Search Inside This Book' feature, the images were blotchy with no smooth gradation in the grayscale. What's happening. From image 1 to image 2.
I use Acrobat Pro XI to highlight important PDF documents. Then I like to extract those highlights to put in Evernote with the PDF below it. I have copy highlighted text into comments highlighted. I then use Tools, Action, Create Comment Summary to export to an Excel file and then move that into Word. The problem is I have these codes that appear, like "\r" and greek characters. I have a macro that does find and replace to change them into the appropriate characters / styles, like bulleted text or quotation marks. However, would love if there was some table that shared what each code was in real characters.
Hi there,I have a problem with auto filling a PDF document using data from PHP/Mysql.The idea is that when a user hits a button on the page, a script will catch the values and fill them into a pre made PDF-document. So far the falpits have been numerous, so before I investigate further I have to clearify a few things with people who know Adobe products a lot better than myself. I use documents produced in LiveCycle Designer, and as I understand it, this can be tricky because of the document type(?) that LiveCycle Designer produces.-What kind of Adobe program should I use to make documents of my need? (fill inputs on screen or auto fill from db source). So far I have tried out a lot of scripts, but the errors I get leads me to believe I am using the wrong type of PDF to accomplish this.(Among this one: FPDF-Merge Error: Fast Web View mode is not supported)Appreciated if someone could share some experience on how they produce pre made PDF's with values from DB.Thanx!Chris
I had to get a new computer and I re installed my Acrobat XI Pro software and when I try to activate it, a message saying the serial number is not valid appears. I have the original disk for installation.
"Serial Number Upgrade""The serial number you provided is valid, but a qualifying product could not be found on your computer"When it asks me to select a product Adobe Acrobat XI Standard is not in the options. Everything else is (versions 8 thru 10).... I downloaded the XI from my account (in order history, order took place in 2013) and its STILL not working. Please advise! Thanks
Hi,I have a pdf document that lists every single zip code in the USA and for each row, it has five columns of information for each zip. Using the built-in Search, when the user keys a zip code, the cursor jumps to that page and highlights only the zip code, making it difficult to read the other five columns. Not sure if this is possible, but it would be the ideal solution:Enter Zip Code: ___________ [Search] <-- User keys a zip code, if found, return all the columns in the same row in the report belowGroup: ___________Group Description: ____________Mkt Area ____________City ____________State&nbs
I am trying to print a PDF file as a booklet. The document is set up correctly in Adobe Acrobat DC and it displays and pages correctly. The booklet pages are 8x8, so the printed size is 8x16. I am running Windows 10 and using an Epson Artisan 1430 printer with the latest drivers from Epson. With this particular printer driver it will not allow the borderless printing option to be chosen with Custom Paper sizes, e.g., 8x16. Some of the things I have tried.Choose A3 @ 11.7"x16.5", paper and then choose borderless printing. With Page Sizing & Handling set to Booklet.Result: Leaves white band down the center of page. Don't know how to force zero margins on inside border of page.Choose Custom page size @ 11.7 (so that it is centered vertically on page and can be flipped over for second side printing) by 16.25, which leaves .125" on each end for margins.Result: Prints first page with 8" width and second page with 7.75" width and no white band down the center
I use windows 7 and when i chose the adobe printer from within microsoft word ( printing a word document created by the OCR software Nuance Omnipage) i get a pdf centered horizontally but not vertically ( the content is scotched to the upper part of the page).I'm missing thus a top margin.I cannot create the top margin from withing Word because it would have to be done manually for each OCR output word file ( i have hundreds of them).I've tried creating a top header from within Adobe acrobat pro X, but it won't work. Redimensionning the page to a higher format within the crop tool in Acrobat results in the same problem. How do i center the content so i get too a top margin ?
Since moving to Windows 10, Acrobat DC Pro UI dialog boxes, menus, etc are very small...too small to read. I've adjusted various settings in Acrobat and Windows 10, but I either end up with everything way to large, or way to small. I've been unable to find anything that specifically addresses my issue, but I'm sure others have bumped into this issue. Thank you in advance for your help!David

Hello. I'll try to make it as simple as possible. I have some data from excel (saved as tab-delimited) that I need to import into a 5 page PDF. I am using the script below to import, and it works very well. All the fields import and saves individual PDF's (one for each record). However, I need to expand that functionality by deleting certain pages before it saves the document by looking at different checkboxes. Code below is what I use to import the records.// specify the filename of the data filevar fileName = "/Users/MacMike/Desktop/Test.txt"; // the tab delimited text file containing the datavar outputDir = "/Users/MacMike/Desktop/Dump/"; // make sure this ends with a '/'var err = 0;var idx = 0;while (err == 0) { err = this.importTextData(fileName, idx); // imports the next record if (err == -1) app.alert("Error: Cannot Open File"); else if (err =

Hi thereI would like to hear you about how reliable are PDF security passwords. You can google dozens of methods to unlock files. The simplest one is printing the file from google chrome built-in PDF reader and saving it as an unlocked file...Can you indicate me a method to avoid that?Thank you in advance
Hi folks - First time user of Acrobat DC and wonder if / how I can do the following?A client comes to us for a medical. They may have to complete more than one form depending on what the medical is. If the client completes one form, is there a way that when the second form is opened, their basic details (name, address, DOB, etc) can automatically populate the same fields on the second form so the client doesn't have to type the details in twice? Is this possible? Or instead would I have to create both forms as one form, and hide the second part of the form if not needed?
Hi, I'm trying to create a PDF that will show the date the document was opened and allow printing only.So I create a text field and through Javascript show the date. The problems is that when I use security to lock the document and enable printing only it also "locks" the date on the text button and it doesn't change. The same behaviour happens when I add a date field to the header. This happens in Acrobat X and also in DC. Many thank for any help David
I have folders full of pdfs in which I need to merge every two pdfs. The contents are tabs and book chapters. The tabs are the odd numbered files ex 1,3,5 and the chapters are the even numbered files ex 2, 4, 6. When I run the script pdf 1 would insert into 2. Pdf 3 would insert into 4. Pdf 5 would insert into 6….etc. Is there any way to do something like this?
someone sent me a secured pdf document, when I click on it, I get a window asking for my email and password to open it, but then get an error message (error 503). It is imperative that I open the document..but I don't know how!Debbie
Version: Adobe Acrobat DC 15.017.20053Winver: 1511 (10586.545)Recently I noticed that all my PDFs including externally received PDFs are viewed overly sharp (with default fonts like Arial). It looks extremely ugly at div. magnification levels, better at 100% but still spacing looks weird.Happend on two different devices (PC and Laptop). In my memory, the PDFs always looked better. Word documents and other texts (like here) look way better. What could be the cause? Did not make any relevant system changes lately.Examples:75 %100 %
I own Adobe CS6 Master Collection. The Adobe PDF Toolbar use to work in Firefox but now it's missing completely and not even listed in the Add-ons, Extensions or Plugins areas. This has nothing to do with the Adobe PDF Reader or DC Reader or whatever you call it.No, I don't want to install a Reader. It's a toolbar that get's installed with the full version of Adobe Acrobat X Pro in IE and Firefox for creating PDFs of web pages.Where did it go in Firefox? Why isn't it being displayed? How do I get it back?I paid for a product, I expect it to be there.Simple.If it's some security issue with my version of Acrobat being old, I expect Adobe to fix it.I'm not buying the whole suite just to get the toolbar back, you've got to be kidding.
could not find the docx type while creating a new PDF,and it;s unaviable to change the additional settings in the crea
We have one user who is on a MAC. He is running Outlook (exchange) version 14.6.7. He needs to be able to create PDF portfolios from his email. Is that possible using Acrobat? Also, we are licensed for Acrobat XI for windows. Will our serial number work for the Macintosh or do we need to buy a whole new license? Is Acrobat XI compatible with his version of Outlook? He is running the most recent MACOS.

I'm exploring options for gathering responses to a PDF form. User-entered fields are created, the user saves the completed form as a PDF, and emails the form back. Can the user-entered data entered into the fields be extracted into an electronic format? I hate the very idea of retying the user-entered data to get it into electronic form. For now, the question is "can this be done - extract the user-entered data into an electronic format?" If possible, then I can start exploring format, etc.
