Hi! I have a bunch of files digitized from PAL Anamorphic digibeta tapes so the picture is squooshed. I need to unsquoosh it. I found helpful directions online BUT when I use Media Encoder to convert the files to progressive and expand them, for some reason it keeps setting the display ratio to 1.85 instead of 1.78 and I do not have enough technical understanding to know why or how to fix that. I tried setting it to "custom" and entering in 16:9 manually but then I wind up with a file that displays as 2.23 (super stretched). These are the settings I'm using:Format = quicktimeVideo Codec = Apple ProRes 422 (HQ)Field Order = ProgressiveAspect = PAL widescreen720x576 Thanks!
I've done research here about ways to export WMV. It appears that bootcamp is the best option - I don't want to deal with that. Also, most posts are outdated so I figured maybe there was a new solution. Does anyone have a workaround for exporting .WMV files? To your knowledge, is this more popular in Japan?! Is there a file format that will accomplish the same thing as .WMV that I can export (I know this is maybe a situational question)? Thanks, Rob
Hello, I have a problem with the render. The preview is always a black screen after the render too. What to do?
Hello! I'm rendering a project from After Effects using Media Encoder and whenever I try to export it, it replaces one clip with broadcast colors. The audio is also cut off during this. I used Export > Add to Adobe Media Encoder queue and am rendering on H.264, 720p.
Hey everyone, I've gone over every single setting i can find and can't figure out the issue here.Every time I try to export my project built in aftereffects as a prores file the levels get blown out, highlights are much brighter. I've included a screenshot of two seperate exports, one as a mp4 and one as a prores .mov so you can see the difference. There are no additional LUT or color settings clicked on as far as I can tell. Im pulling my hair out over here.
I reinstalled, restarted my computer, cleaned out my computer, tried everything but keep getting this message. I can use the application on my colleges computers but not my mac. I need to use this for my media art assignments.
I'm on the 2020 version and can use my RTX 2070 just fine in after effects, but am locked to software encoding in adobe media encoder. I have added my card to the raytracer list in after effects and created a cuda_supported_cards.txt file in premiere, am I supposed to do something in Media encoder? The project setting has GPU enabled, but no matter what media encoder stick to software encoding and is so much slower than rendering straight out of after effects. Hey, can someone tell me which hardwre encoder I can but to speed up the media encoder? It does not use the GPU, so I was wondering if there is some hardware that the app is responding to. nice to hear from someone even if there is no answere to the question. And by the way: If not, can we open the app for a feature? It would get us all some more sleep and peace for our families. 😉 thanxsPeter
Adobe Media Encoder CC 2014 on MacPro "mid-2012" (MacPro5,1) running OSX 10.9.3 and getting this error when trying to launch Adobe Media Encoder CC 2014:Adobe Media Encoder ErrorAdobe Media Encoder has encountered an unexpected error and cannot continue.Have uninstalled, reinstalled. Checked and fixed permissions numerous times. Tried removing all plugins and that didn't fix. Also tried editing the text listings within the .app for OpenGL and CUDA to remove all cards listed - that didn't fix anything either. At this point it's uninstalled and "hopefully" everything will point to CC (non-2014 version). Adobe Media Encoder CC works fine. Adobe Media Encoder CS6 works fine.Cannot find any other reports of this issue.
Hi Everyone, I was wondering if it was easy to edit a .epr settings file to change the bitrate of a preset. I have a delivery of what is essentialy XDCAM 25fps 1920x1080 but with a 80Mbit bitrate instead of 35/50Mbits. I was hoping to duplicate the settings file and just change to bitrate from 50 to 80 but when I open the file via text edit I can't find an obvious place to make the edit. Am I trying to to do someting that is not possible or does anyone know if this can be acheived by editing the text file or by another method? I have been delivering the masters by encodcing via AmberFin iCR so far and all the programmes have been QC'd and accepted so far. That method invloves me remoting to a different office, transfering my masters by FTP and performing the transcode via Amberfin then transfering the transcoded file back again. So as you can imagine some of these files are big and it is a very time consuming process. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
I have an image sequence of 150 TIFF files. If I drag them into media encoder (stand alone not premiere) and to the "drop here to stitch together" tab, when I export the image sequence as 1080 video it outputs a 13 minute video instead of the 5 second clip. Same thing happens across all video formats (H.264 / quick time / NotchLC). The FPS is set to 24 in both output settings and media encoder prefs. Images are also 1080 just like my output so no scaling or anything going on. It seems to be stitching at some insanely low fps. Issue does not happen if I stitch in premiere but I do not want to create a premiere file for simple conversion like this. It used to work great. Just drag in an image sequence and hit go and I'd have a lovely quick video.
Hi all, When encoding, the system just turns itseld off! I'm using Encoder 2020, on a Mac and have upgraded to Catalina. Anyone out there had the same issue on a Mac? I saw one post for Windows but couldn't translate the issue to Mac.
Here's a shot of a recent AME render queue. As you can see, only the 480 SD presets will successfully render, although it's the same file in all cases. The failed renders all give the infamous -1609629695 error code. The imported AE file is a 4-minute 1280x960 animation which rendered just fine until recently. After import into AME, I trimmed the 4-minute composition down to several three-second chunks for these tests. The screen shot shows the results from one of those chunks. I rendered using both Software Encoding and Hardware Encoding in the Encoding Settings, as well as the Renderer set to Software Only and GPU Acceleration (Metal). Also unchecked Enable Parallel Encoding in Preferences. I tried all these variations on the different three-second work areas. I also tried these tests from both an external drive and my hard drive. Just in case it matters, the composition contains numerous precomps, and uses the Video Copilot Sure Target camera from beginning to end.&nb
Does AMEEncodingLog.txt keep a certain amount of encodes in the log or does it delete after a certain amount of time. I have noticed mine go back 10 days, but I am unsure if its by date or a certain amount of encodes. Thanks, I am not sure this actually makes sense but I hope so.
Hi, I wish to migrate to Windows 10 PC and want to use ‘Adobe Media Encoder 2020’ as my primary transcoding app. I am aware Adobe CC works fine with Red & DSLR workflows. But I am having difficulty with open gate ARRI RAW & Camera Audio to create proxy. Feature Request:Secondly, can we have Tape ID/Reel Name data burn in (overlay) option like Da Vinci Resolve Studio/Lite or Pomfort Silverstack Lab.
Hi rookie question here.I have footage from a unknown camera (might be panasonic). I want to transcode all media to ProRes 422 and have that worked out, but the camera media is buried in folder structures and I want an easy way for Encoder to see it so I can queue it. I don't want to have to go to each folder and find one media file, want to see all media files in encoder. Also want to make sure I have all the metadata I need. The media is a .MXF file structure below. Thanks everyone.
All, I recently updated to v. 14.0.1 and when converting a ProRes HQ .mov out of FCPX to an .mp4 using AME I am seeing a 15 IRE drop in level. Not 100% sure if this not a gamma shift - I don't think it is. The encode was done using a user preset that encodes properly in v. 14.0. I also tried using the stock YouTube .mp4 encoder and I'm seeing the same level drop. I also tried both hardware (GPU) and software only rendering. I'm on a 2013 Mac Pro, running OSX 10.14.6. Any ideas? Maybe a new bug? Thanks! Bill

Hello, I am a high school video and animation teacher working with animate, after effects, and AME to make animation and motion graphics. Previously we had no difficulty brining gifs or other image sequences into after affects and rendering the compositions. However, more often than not, when we try to export the videos (via adobe media encoder) we just get a black screen. When rendering the video in AME the preview/animation is visible and it seems as though it will render normally. However, the screen is often black. We have tried rendering in PRO res instead of h.264 but this does not seem to work. I have worked with AE and AME for years and this has never been an issue before...it seems like others have been having the same problem. We recently uninstalled and reinstalled the newest versions and we are encountering the same problem. Thanks in advance for any advice/tips.
Hello I had been waiting for AME 14.0.2 because I could not use 14.0.1 due to the Markers issue causing exports to never start and was excited to see 14.0.2 available. But today I was ready to upgrade but now only 14.0.1 is showing as available. Could someone tell me if I was just dreaming about 14.0.2 or was it rolled back for some issue and will be coming back out again soon?
I'm trying to transcode a HEVC H.265 MP4 file to H.264 format. When I drop the file into the queue, it shows an "audio" icon (conversly when I drop in another video type, it shows the little reel/audio icon) I can dictate the export format as H.264 HD 1080 which is what I wantWhen I click Play/Export, the preview screen is completely black. I can also confirm the exported H.264 file also is an entirely black screen with the audio from the file. Also note I can open and play this file perfectly in VLC Media Player. Thanks for your help
Trying to convert an AVI to H.264 file and it shows remaining 00:00:00 but its not finishing. Media Encoder just sits there telling me nothing. I can see the Adobe Media Encoder.exe is using 25% CPU, but no sign that anything is actually being done. Is this a bug with Adobe Media Encoder? Thanks!
My media encoder, out of the blue, has stopped working, it will not open at all, and has to be FORCED QUIT. I have UNISTALLED and REINSTALLED and tried going backwards two versions. As usual, no help from Adobe. So sick of their lack of service and forking over $50 a month.
