OK, so I made a Composition in After Effects. To keep life simple, 32 bits/channel, No Color Management, No Linearize Working Space, No Blend Colors Using 1.0 Gamma, No Compensate for Scene-Referred Files, just a bog simple as I can make it.I made a ramp using the built in tools, rendered it out using a preset for UHD 10 bit. So far so good:Nice and clean ramps, all good. Now I'll use the exact same setting, just turning on Rec2020 color primaries:Note the upper ramp's blacks - from zero to about 8%, all values have been crushed to black, and then jump to about 23%. And yes, they play back this way too (checked on a Samsung KS8000, a UHD HDR UltraHD Premium Certified set, playing back via USB stick). So, in summary:- you CAN render 10 bit Rec709 files OK - so that's good. -you CAN'T render 10 bit Rec2020 files and have them look right (unless everything is above 23% - BAD.-if you look here https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2238092...you'll see that you can't render proper HDR files as well
Hi there, I recently shot some footage on Sony FS7. The camera records 10-bit, and we shot in 4K. Now I need to transcode all the footage to ProRes 4444 on AME and I'm going to leave the size 4K. The transcoded footage will also be used on After Effects and DaVinci after the edit. My only issue is that I'm a bit confused about choosing the right bit-depth. I understand that 24 bit equals 8bpc x 3 RGB Channels and 48 bit equals 16bpc x 3 RGC channels. Would 24, 32, or 48 bit be ideal for VFX and color grading work? Thank you for your feedback. - Eren
I can't find why interpreting a media in 24 or 23,976 do not change media duration?Hope someone can help!
I am running the current version of AME CS6 on an 21.5-inch iMac, Mid 2011 (ver. 10.11.6). I am recording media with a BlackMagic HyperDeck SSD 4K on to OWC Pro 6G Mercury Extreme SSDs (both 480g and 1tb drives). I am connecting the drives to the iMac using the BlackMagic Multi Dock 2 (connected via Thunderbolt). I am having an issue where I set up an encoding queue (anywhere from 2-20 files) and start encoding. The first file encodes well but upon reaching 100% the program freezes and does not move on to the next file. After about 5-10 minutes one of two things happens. Either AME moves to the next file and begins the encoding process as it should, or the program stays frozen and the iMac sends the error "Disk Not Ejected Properly". I have tried using a different external drive dock (A single drive dock made by Rosewill, connected via USB 3.0) but the same problem has occurred making me think that the problem is with AME. This problem can occur when encoding only 1 file, although the
am i missing something, I can't see any way to make a preset that encodes at half resolution regardless of source resolution.I have a massive number of clips that I need at half and at quarter res and they're all different sizes.doing it manually will be insane. It'll be quicker to do in after effects because at least I can script teh setup there.any ideas ?
I have been struggling with Adobe support to make Media Encoder successfully open HEVC H.265 HDR 10-bit videos. This is actually the only reason I got a CC plan.Public examples of videos with this problem:Demo Ultra-HD - LG Chess - HDR Demo Ultra-HD - LG Colors of Journey - HDR Can somebody please try to open these in Media Encoder? My setup: Windows 10 64 bit, GTX 1070The error I see is: The file Filename.mp4 could not be imported. The source file appears to be corrupted. Please check that it is a valid file.I confirmed with support that I have the HEVC codec installed correctly, as I can successfully export HEVC.
Recently I've been unable to render anyfile. I started worrying when animate said that I would need quicktime installed in order to render some files, which is incorrect since I already have quicktime installed. Now whenever I try to render out a H.264 or Mov file it fails immediately with the quicktime setting even unable to match the orignal source of the video when customising the settings saying it dosent support it. Anyone have a potential fix?
Hello guys,Using Media encoder to export projects on another PC, and one watch folder is working perfectly, after some time we had a need for another one, after creating it it exports one projects and stops working. After saving project in folder wirst one shows in queue and after first it stops working. Tried changing location and names of folder and it just won't work. Anyone got any suggestions?
I need help I've have been trying everything to export my audio. I have been transferring cassette tapes and fixing them. It sounds perfect in the timeline but every time I export it and I've tried everything like playing with the Hz and bitrate but all I get is a crackling, pitched metallic audio.Does anyone know what export settings or anyway to export the same audio as in timeline?I've tried MP3, WAV, AAC (that sounded a little better)48 bitrate 48000 Hz
Hello. This might a stupid question but how can I preserve the folder structure of a mags that I have ingested when I want to transcode with media encoder?I have, on my storage, ( so already ingested)CAMERA/ROLL/TAKEIf I drag&drop this folder into AME and set a transcode preset, the transcode goes directly in the relative input file sub-folder or in a destination folder specified by me in the preferences. In the second case I can't see an option for duplicating the folder structure and having the transcodes mirroring the original source.Does this happens only if I ingest directly with AME?
Hi,I have been using premiere and encoder for a few years without a problem. However, in the last week, after encoder finishes a job it disappears from the queue. The exported file is fine and where it should be but the item disappears from the list, along with the accompanying green tick that would be beside it (or more importantly the yellow or red warning message if there is a problem).Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Hi I have exported my file from Premiere Pro cc 2017 into AME 2017.After settings the project started and after one minute in the out put video is showing off line.Any solution?
In previous versions of AME and AE CC, I was able to set the preview resolution in AE to quarter for faster preview and when I add it to the AME encoding queue, it will still render at full resolution. However, after the most current update, If the preview resolution is set at a quarter, then the resolution of the encoded file will also be downgraded unless i set the preview resolution in AE to full before adding it to the AME queue. Is this an intended feature or am I doing something wrong?
I would like to be able to chop the first 9 seconds off a ProRes file without having to recompress it. Is it possible to do that using AME?
Just updated all my adobe apps to the new CC2017 and I've noticed an odd issue. When I send footage to AME from Premiere, that I've applied a LUT to in Lumetri Color, it outputs as B&W. However if I export using Premiere's export window the footage comes out fine. This really hamstrings my ability to multitask my edit schedule. Has anyone encountered this issue?
I'm encoding some videos in VP9 format with AME.For a 6 minute video AME takes about three hours for VP9 format ... but for H264 only some minute.Do it's normaly ?Do it is possible to accelerate de encoding for vp9 ?Thank you
Hello,I just couldn't find an Info about this.Is the Media Encoder only availabe if you purchase the whole CC suite,or can you download it also if you just purchase one Progamm e.g. Premiere Pro.Apprechiate infos!thx
Hello,it is possible to put the "run fast" (moov atom) in the VP9 files?I want use these file for web streaming ...Thank you
I have several Adobe Fuse 3D characters that i've brought into Photoshop and animated.Instead of tying up Photoshop whilst rendering, Can i push/import them into AME and render the video in there, as a queue?
I have been exporting product videos here at work through Premiere until recently. I started using AME to get a better workflow going and everything was OK for the first few days. Now when I export videos out of AME, they seem to be missing the music I put in. A1 and A2 are the tracks I use for "talking" and I'll use either A3-A4 or A5-A6 for my background music which is always a WAV file. Run the project through AME (as a H264 MP4) and the final output will be missing the music. The talking is all there, just not the music. Not sure why this is happening. Nothing has changed since I first started using it 2 weeks ago. Everything was fine at first and now it's not working right. Sadly, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't so I can't narrow down the issue cause it's not consistent. I've manually deleted both "cache" folders and it still doesn't work right. Any ideas??
Hi!For so many years waiting for this feature before start using. After completion of the encoding queue the opportunity to turn off the computer or initiate Sleep or Hibernation.Others have long been used by coders! How long can you wait?
Hi there,I have a 43GB DNxHD .mov file that I need to compress to an MPEG-2 DVD format. When I drag into or open it with Adobe Media Encoder (2015.4) I get an error that "Adobe Media Encoder CC 2015.4 has stopped working. I get a similar error with 2017. Watching my system monitor I don't get any RAM, CPU, or Disk spikes (Ram sits at about 10% with 64GB installed, and CPU is under 10%. Any ideas on what my best options would be?Thanks,Stephen
Hi,I recently started using AME for converting clips to the .mov dxv3 format for use in resolume. All went well untill now, for some clips i get a screen like this (Imgur: screenshot). Most clips work fine however. They are all mp4 files.
I have just upgraded to Media Encoder 2017 and got a bad problem with .mov(ProRes) to .mp4 (h.264) export while using a double-pass encoding. It stops in the middle of the process and won't proceed. I didn't have problem with the previous version. Who knows the solution?
