Adobe Media Encoder

I think I would find value in a feature that would allow me to expand the preview window in media encoder to an undocked resizable window and/or second display.  Mainly because Id like to see some ore detail while its processing so that while it works in the background, and I am doign something else, I can maybe catch something that doesnt look right. As an example, I am exporting a 50 min video right now, with some heavy effects,  media encoder is running for an estimated 7 hours to process this.  I would love to be able to see the preview window expandable incase soemthing happens I was not expecting. Currently undocking doesnt seem to allow you to make the preview of the video resizable.

It would be nice to have the Log be a window we can attach.  It would make troubleshooting easier to watch the flow.

Requesting Elapsed Encode Time column for each render, not just live encoding time or digging in the log.

Hi - I need to know if the Adobe Media Encoder supports WebM files, and if it can convert a WebM file (of at least 250mb) to a standard video file, such as mp4 or Quicktime.Thank you!

So I recently stumbled into a bit of a rabbit hole around the moov atom in .mp4 files, basically a piece of metadata at the container level that tells the browser how to play the video.I export all my videos using Adobe Media Encoder (not sure which version but i believe 2025 non beta), then upload them to BunnyCDN to use as direct .mp4 links for autoplaying videos on my Framer site. But I noticed that some videos, especially longer ones, just wouldn’t autoplay properly in Safari, while working fine in Chrome and Firefox.After digging into it (and talking to Bunny), it turns out the moov atom needs to be at the start of the file for proper streaming and playback. Safari especially doesn’t like it when it's placed at the end, which, apparently, Media Encoder sometimes does without any way of changing it.This is especially important for, as I understand it:Autoplaying background/autoplaying videos on websites (like I’m building in Framer). Please add support in Adobe Media Encoder (AME) for generating audio peak files (.pek) and transcripts in a dedicated preprocessing phase. This would allow AME to operate as a headless preparation tool, ensuring assets are ready for immediate use in Premiere Pro without needing to open the project manually.

I would like to be abe to add fade in/out on Video and Audio tracks.  It's something I used regularly in Sorenson Squeeze and I would find it very useful in Media Encoder.

It seems like an oversight that Medai Encoder cannot ingest DNG photos to batch convert to either JPG or PNG. Please allow compatibility to do this. I hope it's not too complicated to add.Also, I know there is a workaround using Photoshop.  File > Scripts > Image processing. But you have to select an entire folder, rather than dropping in specific photos to convert. Maybe others will agree this addition seems like a given?

I have a render queue all set up in AME, and during the first one, the drive failed.  All the files in the queue went to "failed" status, and now I want to lasso the whole bunch and click "duplicate" to restart with a new drive. But I can't. I have to duplicate each job individually. How about enabling "bulk duplicate"??? Thanks.

Multiple times in the last month I have accidentally clicked Stop in while encoding in Media Encoder when I meant to click Pause. It would be great if these buttons were made bigger and possibly farther apart. Maybe in addition to the pause/play/stop icon the actual word could be written out within the button? This would make them bigger and thus easier to click on without accidentally stopping, and having to restart, a big export job. Please upvote if you agree!

If we are rendering new version of the sequence Media Encoder automatically ads "_1"  to the filename. But it should be "_2" becouse it's the second version.

Hi,I think Media Encoder is missing a simple but integral feature that Premiere Pro already has - dynamic scaling ingest/encode.Considering how many more settings and options are available in this software, I am shocked to see this one wasn't integrated.Let's say a client sends a folder with footage from 3 different cameras and a drone that shot in a different resolution. If I threw that folder into a Watch Folder, I'd like Media Encoder to automatically create proxies at 1/4 resolution so the aspect ratio is preserved. Premiere already allows users to do this, so I don't understand why Media Encoder doesn't offer it.While we're on this subject, maybe Media Encoder could also respect/preserve the same audio channel settings as the inbound media (vs. us having to choose). As we all know, Premiere doesn't like proxies that have mismatching audio channels. This entire headache could be avoided if Media Encoder just matched the source audio channels by default. I can't think of a scenario

It would be nice if there were a way to set the resolution limit for videos in Media Encoder, specifically the vertical dimension, and create a preset to handle this automatically.For example, I have footage that is either 3840 x 2160 or 4096 x 2160 (or maybe another horizontal resolution x 2160). It would be nice to set the resolution limit for the vertical dimension to 1080, and the horizontal dimension would automatically adjust to maintain the original aspect ratio.For this example, the result would be 1920 x 1080 and 2048 x 1080. Handbrake has this capability, but queueing a bunch of videos isn't the easiest.

I would like to see the folder structure that you can create in the Preset Browser window to translate to your local drive as well.Because everytime you re-install AME you lose the folders and groups you create in the Preset Browser window.It would be more efficient to have your presets setup in folders the way you like at a local level, so when you open AME the Preset Browser window looks the same/has the same folder structure as on your local machine.What Im asking for is currently how the User Presets panel work in AE. Hope this is a helpful feature request.

Why doesn't Media Encoder have more export settings for GIFs? Adobe Express has great presets for different quality exports. Can those Express settings be added to ME as a preset?

Hello everyone,I've been running into an issue with Adobe [Premiere Pro/Media Encoder/etc.] where rendering fails partway through, and instead of resuming from the point of failure, it forces me to start the rendering process from the beginning. Can the "Match Property to Source Video" function be added to the AVI Export panel options?Yes, yes. I get it. For what possible reason would one need to export any video in the AVI format? Go ahead, crack a few jokes. With that out of the way... I happen to work at a broadcast studio. We are required to output video content in a wide range of formats and resolutions for a number of different screen types with non-standard aspect ratios. I help build AME presets for artist, producers, technical director's to standardize and streamline our output. Some of our systems require certain formats, such as AVI, with certain proprietary codecs, to operate.When it comes to AVI exporting specifically, the export panel for this format does not include the "Match Property to Source" function. This function is very helpful with other formats because it allows us to streamline the number of presets we'd need across our varied content.Can this function be added to the AVI export panel?Thank

Please add an aspect ratio corrector to the Media Encoder, similar to PotPlayer and MPC-HC. This will help correct videos that have the wrong aspect ratio, such as incorrectly displayed 16:9 videos, into the correct 4:3 aspect ratio.

Implement next generation (royalty free) encoder from AV1 within Adobe Media Encoder. Several implementations are out, however it would be great if CC 2020 would make it more user-friendly in their AME GUI. Moreover, an adoption of the AVIF format for digital picture media across their other solutions would be welcomed as well.
