Hi!So I downloaded Premier Pro in order to use it for smaller projects, nothing too fancy. Actually, I don't use it very often. The thing is, Media Encoder is downladed too, but I've never used it. I don't really know what it is for. Do I need it? I'm trying to free storage space, and I was wondering if I could uninstall it.
hi there, I know this might have been hashed out a year or two ago, so forgive if this is an old question. I'm trying to batch convert some old motion graphics elements into a usable format as After Effects doesn't like their original codec any more (we don't support MooV or something) In AME I select quicktime as the container but the only available options are Prores and MXF and I just want a QT PNG w/Alpha (RGBA). Why isn't this working? Can I get PNG back? Should I use a different container format? In the end I just made PRORES 4444 XQ files, which is dumb as they're now bloated larger than the originals, but they're working and I can build this spot, but taking advice for upgrading my workflow here.
I keep getting this message when trying to add .AVI files into Adobe Media Encoder to transcode them to ProRes 4444. Is this message popping up because they are files proprietary to Microsoft (I am using a Mac) or does it have something to do with the drive permissions? This harddrive was given to me by a VFX artist who probably has the drive formatted for Windows. Does anybody know how to solve this issue? Thanks
In the secondt ME Panel top left of program, it lists other files and folders I have previously encoded. How do I get rid of these files now??? Really stupid that you can't just click on the file and hit delete, or select the file or edit, or any other of the selections to find a delete or remove command. If anyone has figured this out, please let me know. If no one has figured this out--then Adobe PLEASE FIX THIS GLARING SCREW UP11111
I have video loops that are perfectly seamless, but on export from Premiere Pro via Adobe Media encoder, they fail to loop seamlessly when played back with Quicktime. The videos are ProRes 30p 4k, exported to H.264 30p 4k .mp4 files. This question was discussed in this previous thread: https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro/video-not-looping-seamlessly-after-export-from-premiere/td-p/9520197?page=1 Info from that thread was helpful to zero in on the problem but I find I get inconsistent results. When the movie is open in Quicktime, using the trim edit I can see that the end of the clip has either one or more black frames at the end, or extra frames (which are identical to frame 1). Once I trim them out I get a better loop. 1 out of 4 tries on different clips gets me a seamless result. On others I still get a slight timing glitch or brief "light flash" at the loop point. For a start, a 30p movie reads out as 100 frames per second or something in QT (WTF is
After updating to 14.7 I noticed that a significant number of the export settings were gone and all of the publish options (except for ftp) were gone as well. Running Mac OS 10.14.6. I've looked in /Contents/MediaIO/systempresets and I see lots of export settings folders with non-intuitive folder names, but something is clearly wrong. Any ideas why I'm not seeing the correct options?

I'm trying to set up a watch folder with 3 Presets for batch rendering. I produce commercials and the final product has :02 seconds of black, :05 seconds of slate, :02 seconds of black, then the spot. I need to set up a preset that will start the encoding at :09 seconds in so that the transcoded video is just the spot itself, no black or slate. Does Media Encoder have the ability to do this? I've been using Telestream's Episode for ever, and it's been great, but they discontinued it and I can't update the OS on the computer it runs on or Episode will no longer work. We create about 80 commercials a week, and it's really important to have this feature. Can someone help?
2 layers and only a levels effect, a 2 minute comp is taking 50min. This is not new, as has been the case in most previous iteration of media encoder. not one componant is getting more than 3% usage. What am I doing wrong, how can I get this sorted? I don't see answers on this community or elsewhere so I thought I'd ask myself, before resorting to the common answer which is to bag media encoder completely for something else. specs:AMD 3900xNvidia 309032g ramm.2 SSDlatest drivers, version of windows, and versions of adobe products.
I am on a PC, Windows 10, 64 bit. When I select a Composition in After Effects 2020 in the Project Panel, and go to Composition > Add To Media Encoder Queue (or use the shortcut keys Ctrl + Alt + M), Media Encoder opens, but the Composition does not load into the queue. It's not a matter of time either, it just never loads. I have restarted the computer, updated my OS, updated both the apps, and tried dragging the clip into Media Encoder from After Effects. I use Media Encoder to render H.264s which are essential to my work flow. Can anybody help? I appreciate it.
Adobe Media Encoder and After Effects will not completely shut down. User has to go in and end task in Task Manager. Windows 10 Pro, running the latest Creative apps.
The Encoder (14.7 and 14.8) will crash my entire system went transcoding from Canon H.265 8K to ProRes. This is a major bug which results in a complete machine shutdown without saving. If you have corrective information please share. Adobe, this is easily reproduced - please advise.
whats the differnce between Match - source medium bitrate render and youtube 1080p renderis there any differnce in video quality or any losses because i find "Match - source medium bitrate"render lesser in size but no co,promise in quality
AME is exporting my footage as a test pattern. The footage is perfectly fine in after effects, but when I go to export, it shows as a test pattern. Please help, thanks
Hello,I am attempting to export an animation from Adobe Animate to video. I have tried the mpeg4, avi, h.264 and even quicktime. It goes to the Media Encoder and I click the start button and the start button turns into a stop button and then nothing happens after that. I let it set for over an hour and no progress. If I click stop, it doesn't actually stop and then Media Encoder stops responding and the only way to close it is with task manager. I noticed in Adobe Animate in the export media settings, the output file does not have a file type and when I click the browse button for the output file, the file type box is blank. I don't know if it is supposed to show the .avi, .mp4, etc.. at the end or not but it doesn't. I am not sure if this has anything to do with the issue but I figured it would be worth sharing that information. Any help wwould be greatly appreciated. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing media encoder and that did not help.
I used to be able to leave Media Encoder running in the background whilst continuing working in After Effects or Premiere Pro. Now media encoder takes over the entire CPU and I can't even use a browser or edit a document if it is encoding. I am presuming this is something to do with CPU priority. I have tried using the 'renice' command in terminal but it has no impact. I have a feeling it is a fault in Mac OS rather than Media Encoder as the whole ecosystem has changed with Catalina. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Thank you. Tim
I am rendering small GIFs with ME from Premiere Pro files.Since the latest ME update it seems these are needing forever to render.Specifically when they are et the end of the render process it needs 10min or longer for just one format to be finished. The blue bar stays forever there.Does anybody know if this is a bug?The files themselves do not really have big animations in them:First animation: A small gif with 8 frames inserted - afterwards just 3 words of text appearing without any fading or something...Second animation: A picture which is not animated and a bubble which is zooming in and out a bit.Frames are set to 10 per sec.I do not understand why these animations would take so long to render. It seems like in the finishing process of the render there is something wrong.I am working on Windows 10.I hope that the problem will be solved with the next ME Update, but just wanted to ask if someone is experiencing the same issue.Thanks.
The Adobe Media encode has a BUG when i render a vfx footage, the tracked datas, i replaced a screen footage doesn't render properly !the screen i replaced does not match the tracked footage, i use the latest version of Mocha, my tracking is clean, but when i render with Adobe Media Encoder, the tracked footage is not rendered properly !if i render without using media encoder, only with after effects, it works properly so thats a HUGE PROBLEM !!!!If i render to frames, everything is clean my tracking work & screen replacement is completely clean, watch my video you can see HOW bad the rendering is when using adobe media encoder !!!i tried everything but this bug is horrible, the only way i have at the moment is to render to frame & re-render with media encoder that's not how i work !!!!See the bad result with adobe media encoder latest version:bad result adobe media encoder See the result to frames & re-rendered with adobe media encoder:Render to frames &am
When I send my sequences to the Queue in AME from Premiere, it appears to export fine except it does not keep any of my audio settings from my sequence. My audio levels go back to their orginal settings from the raw footage, and my compressors, and anything I added from Essential Sound is gone. When I export directly out of Premiere it's fine. I just can't export through AME.I am using the most current vesions of AME (14. 8 Build 31) and Premiere at this point on a Mac with 10.15.7.Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.
Hello Forum! Hoping someone has encountered this issue and knows a tweak. I have attached video-stills showing examples of the problem. I have recently acquired a 2020 iMac with the 8-Core 3.8ghz i7 "10th Generation" chip and the Radeon 5500XT 8GB Graphics Card. And I have also tested a 2020 iMac with i9 Chip and Radeon 5700XT 16GB Graphics Card and it had the same issue. In fact I downgraded to the i7 because of this issue that I was having with the i9 thinking maybe the i9 was somehow the cause. The computer that has been my main workhorse for a couple years is a 2017 iMac with the 4.2Ghz i7 processor and Radeon Pro 580 8GB Graphics Card. I call it "JP2" and it does NOT have this problem. Only the 2020 iMacs I have tested have this problem and I have tried many different things to attempt to make the problem go away. By the way both 2020 iMacs encoded footage WAY faster than my maxxed out 2017 iMac. h264 1080p
Hi there, I feel like this question is a bit unorthodox, so I'll try to explain what I'm after the best I can. In the same way that an Adobe Premiere project can be set up to automatically encode proxies using Media Encoder (on ingest, I mean), and similar to the way that you can have another PC encode proxies using a watch folder, I'm wondering if there is a way to have ONE pc's instance of Premiere Pro queue up the encoding on another machine - I have 10Gb links between these machines, so I am not concerned about network congestion - is there a way to have another computer (Computer B) automatically generate proxies for a project being worked on in Computer A? If this isn't possible, I suppose the next best thing would be to just use a watch folder - but that requires a bit of planning (and you cannot edit within premiere pro until this encode is complete, unlike with the proxies where you can edit while the encode happens in the background). If I'm not being clear, please
Hello. I have a very simple hour plus video that is a speaker talking over slides. I had to edit out the ID of the speaker so I went in and did a little masking. When I exported my video, I ended up with a 727mb file. I decided that was too big (as people will be downloading these files). I've now made about 6 exports each time following advice I find online and tried:Changing the bitrate to Medium adaptiveChanging to Medium (not adaptive)Changing the VBR, 2 pass Target 4.5 - Maxium 6Using YouTube settingsEach time, my file size has gone up, instead of down. My latest attempt gave me a file of over a gig. I MUST be doing something wrong. Also, are there best settings for exporting still images? That info might help. There used to be an optimize stills checkbox but I haven't seen it lately. Thanks for any advice you can offer
Hi everyone!I'm trying to burn a DVD. The video file I have is MP4. The program I need to use can only work with MPG files. Is there a way to convert an MP4 to an MPG from Media Encoder? The only format I found close was MPG2, but it spirts out a .m2v and .wav file. I need it to be a single .mpg file. Thank you for your help in advance!
Hi there, Media Encoder on my Windows 10 PC is not working anymore. Every time I try to encode H 2.64 it get's stuck at 'reading xmp' and then eventually crashes without a specific error message. When I try to encode the same file on my Macbook Pro there's no problem with ot at all. My windows PC is much more powerful however, so I need it to work there again - as it used before! This problem suddenly occured out of nowhere. Any help is apprechieated...
