As of today, unfortunately I haven't had any luck. I contacted Adobe on two different occasions-- the first time, they had no idea what was going on and couldn't be of any help. The second time, the customer care person pointed to that it was because my NVIDIA card wasn't being detected by my system (it turned out that was because he was looking in the wrong place on my computer for this indication). Because of his judgement I then started contact with NVIDIA-- they determined that the card was working fine. I didn't believe them for a while, but then after conducting one of the diagnosis tests provided on the dell website I have determined that the GTX 1050 is working correctly. Now as I write this however, I notice that when checking my card with GPU Z, it shows that the adapter (Video card) is not CUDA supported, even though it in fact is (it is listed as a CUDA supported GPU on NVIDIA's website). After updating to Adobe Premiere CC 2018 today I have been successfully able to open Premiere without the error message you mentioned about for the first time in months. However, the GPU isn't being utilized for CUDA rendering. The problems I've had with After Effects also were not resolved (I'm not even able to view in real time an animation of moving a simple shape across the screen). I shouldn't even need CUDA rendering to view this simple animation in real time so this makes me doubt if the problem is even CUDA related. So I'm back at square one, not sure what to do next. I'll contact Adobe again probably. Not sure what else NVIDIA can do. If you come up with anything, please post it here.

I have had an identical problem, with a GTX 1050. Adobe customer care said that the problem was that my NVIDIA graphics card was not being read by the system (merely looked at display properties, but GTX 1050 wouldn't be listed under there anyways), but after running additional diagnostics and contacting NVIDIA, the problem is not the graphics card itself. I am currently at the end of the troubleshooting rabbit hole, any more suggestions/solutions would be of great help. Thank you. If you do in fact have dual graphics cards and have tried all of the solutions in Adobe's blog Error "Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules" | Startup but none of them work, I recommend reinstalling your Visual C++ Redistributable files. This solution has worked for me. A detailed description of how to go about this process (on a 64-bit system) is as follows: Under control panel > Programs and Features, uninstall every program that starts with "Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable." To gain access to the Visual Studio C++ Redistributable files from Microsoft (guaranteed to work), create a VisualStudio Account and subscribe to Visual Studio Dev Essentials. It's free, and it'll provide you access to the downloads you need. Go to the "Downloads" tab and search each of the following items. You will need to download and install each of these individually as they have the same file names: Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable (x86) Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable (x64) Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable (x86) Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable (x64) Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable (x86) Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable (x64) Visual C++ 2012 Update 4 Redistributable (x86) Visual C++ 2012 Update 4 Redistributable (x64) Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x86) Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x64) Visual C++ 2017 Redistributable (x86) Visual C++ 2017 Redistributable (x64) If you are operating on a 32-bit system, then only install the x64 versions. 64-bit systems require both the x86 and x64 versions. After double checking that all redistributables are installed (compare those installed in "Programs and Features" to the above list), restart your computer. Open Premiere-- if you receive an error message upon startup, such as "the program can't start because MSVCR130.dll is missing from your computer," this means that you are lacking a redistributable, which in this example are the 2013 ones as indicated by the 13 in the file name. The following websites were the ones I initially obtained guidance from, however the links in the Autodesk site are broken for a few of the downloads (hence the need for a VisualStudio Account): How to remove and reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Libraries | AutoCAD | Autodesk Knowledge Network The Program can't start because MSVCR110.dll is missing from your - Microsoft Community Additional users have reported that using an installer from Majorgeeks is an efficient way to go about this process. I too have had this problem with my switchable graphics cards (NVIDIA GTX 1050 and Intel HD 600). If you have already tried all of the solutions on adobe's thread regarding this issue, it may very well be a problem with your Visual C++ Redistributable files. This means you will have to reinstall your C++ library, which can be simply completed. A detailed description of how to go about this process (on a 64-bit system) is as follows: Under control panel > Programs and Features, uninstall every program that starts with "Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable." If you have already tried every solution proposed by Adobe Error "Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules" | Startup , it has also been suggested to reinstall your Visual C++ redistributable files. This seemed to do the trick for me and some other users who were having a startup problem with their switchable graphics cards. I too have the same problem, and have had it for about a month now. Using NVIDIA GTX 1050 and Intel HD 630 (intergrated). I have tried every single possible solution, including BIOS and a fresh install of both Windows and Adobe. I have had only temporary success after the fresh install, but upon opening Premiere for a third time I was presented with the same dialogue message, and now it won't go away. Here are my two threads on the issue if you would like more detail on my (our) problem and attempted fixes. 1st thread (with pictures): Cannot find capable video play modules, GPU Acceleration disactivated - Dell XPS 15 9560 2nd thread (with attempted solutions): No video play modules detected - switchable graphics card I completely understand your frustration. Best of luck.

My system is as follows: Dell XPS 15 9560 i7-7700HQ Quad Core Processor 16GB RAM 512GB Solid State Drive NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1050 with 4GB GDDR5 Windows 10 Home OS with latest Creators update For the past month or so, I have experienced a mysterious issue that seems to have no resolve-- unpredictably, on startup, premiere 99.9% of the time presents the dialogue "Adobe Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules. Please update your display drivers and try again." Prior to this past month or so, I was able to run Premiere and After Effects with CUDA flawlessly, and now I can't even open Premiere, or use GPU acceleration with AE. Here are all of the proposed solutions I have completed and their outcomes: 1) In the NVIDIA control panel, under "Manage 3D settings" ensure that the Program Settings for Premiere and AE have "High-performance NVIDIA processor" selected as the preferred graphics processor. Outcome: Before and after laptop was rebooted after selecting these settings, the error dialogue persisted to display. Fail. 2) In the NVIDIA control panel, under "Manage 3D settings" select the preferred global graphics card to be "High-performance NVIDIA processor". Outcome: Error dialogue persisted regardless of selection. Fail. 3) Make sure all of your graphics drivers are updated, in my case, Intel 630HD (integrated) and NVIDIA GTX 1050 (dedicated) cards. I have the latest drivers installed from their respective sites as of June 5th, 2017. Outcome: No change-- after installing the latest drivers, the problem resumed as before. 4) "It's a problem with your switchable graphics cards, which can be set from switchable to fixed in your computer's BIOS." Outcome: I accessed my laptop's BIOS (Dell), and within the menus there was no option to select a graphics card. I thoroughly exhausted all of the BIOS menus. Fail. 5) "The latest Adobe update may have crashed your system-- perform a clean installation of Windows 10 with the creators update and reinstall Adobe products" Outcome: This was the solution with minimal success. I successfully installed a fresh version of the latest Windows and my Adobe programs. I received the error dialogue upon first startup of Premiere, but then realized that I forgot to select the preferred graphics to be the GTX 1050 in the NVIDIA control panel (I never had to do this before this problem came up though, premiere would automatically resort to the GTX 1050 without it being selected in the NVIDIA control panel...). So that was the first warning sign. However, after I selected the GTX 1050 as Premiere's preferred card and restarted the computer, Premiere started up flawlessly, without any video module error dialogue. So I thought I finally caught a break. The next day when I began to work (today), Premiere once again booted up without problem. However, I realized that I had disabled an audio driver on startup that would be necessary for me to use my headphones. So I enabled the audio program in task manager, then restarted the laptop because I needed to edit with headphones. So after rebooting my computer, and opening up premiere, I am once again presented with the error dialogue about video modules. It was only five minutes before that it was working! I tried disabling the audio program on startup again in case that something to do with it (but I'm almost completely sure the two aren't related in any way) and restarted the computer, but no success. I then reset the preferred settings in the NVIDIA control panel hoping that would trigger some response, but nothing. Fail. So here am I now, out of ideas and unable to perform my work. It seems like this problem randomly affects my system, and it was working perfectly fine up until a little over a month ago. I would greatly appreciate any tips or solutions--I am extremely in need of answers. The issue was temporarily fixed after I reinstalled the NVIDIA driver, put the premiere failed startup dialogue shortly appeared after a few weeks. I looked more into the switchable graphics issue, and even tried adjusting the settings in BIOS. Firstly, I ensured that the correct preferences were selected in the NVIDIA control panel, as pictured: Global Settings: Program-specific settings: I then accessed BIOS upon startup, but did not find any parameters that could be modified for switchable graphics. The image below displays the BIOS menu (perhaps there is something I missed?): Lastly, I disabled "fast startup" in the Windows control panel as that too may be related to some graphics issues. I obtained that tip from the following address: https://www.drivereasy.com/knowledge/amd-intel-switchable-graphics-card-error-solved-windows-10/ If you could provide any direction as to what solution to approach next, I would greatly appreciate it.

My system is as follows: Dell XPS 15 9560 i7-7700HQ Quad Core Processor 16GB RAM 512GB Solid State Drive NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1050 with 4GB GDDR5 With recent updates from both Dell and Adobe, I have repeatedly experienced problems with Premiere Pro and After Effects not recognizing the graphics cards in my laptop. I have updated the graphics drivers to the latest versions available. Attached are pictures of the dialogue boxes from Adobe, the driver versions of my cards, and the driver versions available to install (I've already updated to these though). My anti-virus software does not prevent me from running Premiere-- I've already attempted to run the program as an administrator-- no difference. What can be done to overcome this driver recognition problem? Premiere Pro Start-Up Fail: After Effects GPU Acceleration Fail: My system's display driver details as of 05/20/17: Available driver updates for my system as of 05/20/17 I updated Premiere Pro and After Effects CC on May 18th. Thank you in advance, Nicole
