Thanks. I tested out the solutions you linked to no avail. The problem definitely lies in Red footage. I tested against older projects that contain Red footage (that exported fine previously) and the failure happens there, too. I suppose that the latest version of the Nvidia Studio driver (546.01) may be to blame. Would love to hear from someone running that (and the latest PP) to see if they are seeing the issue. Thanks, Lance Window 10 Latest Nvidia Studio Driver 546.01 Premier 24.0.3 AMD Threadripper 3960X/256GB RAM/3xNvidia 3090

I have just started seeing this error while attempting to Export. My sequence contains material from various cameras and some h264 stuff. The sequence plays back fine in timeline with high responsiveness. The error occurs if exporting to h264 or ProRes. I have confirmed that, if I remove all the RED footage, the sequence outputs as expected. If I render using only software engine, the export is successful (if insanely slow). So this RED footage is the problem but why? Window 10 Latest Nvidia Studio Driver 546.01 Premier 24.0.3 AMD Threadripper 3960X/256GB RAM/3xNvidia 3090

Is there a list of what doesn't work with multiframe? This is the vital and crucial isssue related to the succcess of this endeavor. Plug-ins not working (particularly Adobe's own plugins) is a showstopper. Thanks!

Updating AE downgrades full up to date versions of C4D R21 to an earlier verison of R21. It did the same in the last update. And the one before.

Have now secondary confirmation. New version of AE loses PNG sequences when Automatic Footage Reloading is set to All Footage Types. Is reproducible. Happens after AE loses focus (for instance after rendering or going to another app and back again).

I am seeing behavior in the new version in which projects that contain PNG sequences seem to lose those sequences, giving this dialog for every g..d... piece of media. I can cause the error by simply tabbing to another app and then back into AE. Note that projects open fine with all media and if you dismiss these multiple warning dialogs, everything works fine (of course for some projects, that can be hundreds of dialogs). The error seems to disappear if you turn off Auto Footage Reload (hey, who needs features anyway?). Windows 10 Fall Creators Up to date 256GB Ram All SSD or m.2 Nvida 2 Titan X Pascals 2 1080's.

Rikk doesn't deserve to get all our frustration. I didn't find his reply offensive. After trying every suggestion here, on phone support, etc. it is offensive for someone to come on and suggest user error, Bob. It is odd for engineers to not be able to get a handle on an easily reproducible problem (unlike an intermittent one or a user error). My machine likewise is brand new and likewise I have used LR for years. Intel; 6950X 10Core 256 GB Ram Samsung m.2 main drive Samsung 850 Pro 2TB (several of these) 2 Nvidia Titan X and 2 Nvdiai 1080's You would have difficulty building a more powerful or faster machine. There is something up because many folks are reporting the same symptoms: a slowdown over time--works well when first started and then get slower and slower with use.

Again, I have offered to help document this issue and am available to talk with Adobe. Have received no contact from Adobe (of course, I don't have 280 licenses). Many many people reporting same easily reproducible error but Adobe can't get a handle on it. I called tech support and their troubleshooting consisted of doing things I have already tried, laughable misinformation (the GPU is only needed if you are viewing 3D files of high quality!) and ZERO interest in getting the issue solved. I am testing this now and will report back here and at the referenced thread above. Edit: Ah yes, no real improvement to report. I confirmed that the LUA was in place in working. There MIGHT be a small increase in the time until the app slows down so much that it is torture but I may be imagining that. But again the app works fine when first started up--responsive and quick but after working with images I begin to notice a slowdown that increases over time. For instance, flagging a reject, waiting for it to disappear and the new image to be displayed is very quick immediately after opening the app then the time for this to happen becomes longer and longer 1 second 2 seconds 5 seconds etc. This is completely reproducible. And I have offered to help the Adobe team identify the issue. Thanks, Lance

Yeah, still the same terrible behavior in new version: fast performance degrades during session until LR becomes almost unusable. I filed the report a while ago. Offered to make a video demonstrating behavior, etc. Have not heard anything from Adobe. Nowhere to turn to with these guys. And no help on the horizon. Lance

Don't worry NAB is marketing opportunity for Adobe and marketing opportunities are the only time we seem to even see bug fixes (this one, they may label a feature!).

Alright, I'll copy my post above which hopefully includes the info you need over to the other site. Lance Here's what I posted there: There is simply no question that LR 2015.9 (and earlier) slows down with continued use during a session. This is easy to replicate and demonstrate. Lightroom starts up responsive and quick and, after a short while of working with images, begins to bog down: screen redraws, edits, crops etc all start to take longer and longer to accomplish. Ultimately, previously instant tasks start taking 5 seconds or longer. If you quit the app and restart the behavior resets to good response but then repeats as above. Thanks Rikk, Unfortunately, this procedure doesn't seem to separate issues seen and/or squashed in various versions so it's highly inferior to the current issues pages that are available for After Effects and Premiere. To add insult to injury, it doesn't appear that this slow down issue has been acknowledged at all, making this 6 months old thread and the offers I and others have made to more fully help document the bug, etc a complete waste of time. If you ever get interested in knowing more about this bug, feel free to PM me. Lance

Yes, but you are forcing the 4 cores, right? I don't call that running "fine". I call that an embarrassing work-around forced by poor software and software testing by Adobe. This problem is rather new, maybe creeping in a few releases ago. Thanks, Lance

Hey Bob, Thanks, I did test this with no improvement. I tried running with GPU acceleration on and off. Many of us are using multiple graphics cards now to improve render speeds (in modern applications--Adobe is lagging behind here) in 3D and video apps. And, of course I have a 4K monitor! Lance

Hi Bob, I tried this idea and confirm that this method does NOT seem to improve my situation. With testing I still see, even after setting affinity to 4 cores, the same behavior of performance degradation over time during a session. Thanks, Lance

I see several folks now reporting that this slowdown issue is related to having multiple cores/CPUs. According to them, the more cores you have the more likely you will see the slowdown. Ugh. Some testers are limiting LR to 4 cores (in Windows) and reporting success. Needless to say, this should be a priority fix. Lance See: At wits end with Lightroom's slowness...

I posted to a new thread. Slows down over time during session The problem continues in 2015.9. on the highest-end equipment and all the latest software. Is easily replicated. For me the slowness creeps in over time: after editing 20 or so photos it becomes noticeable and progressively gets worse. If I let it continue, I start seeing the screen go black on every function. Quitting and restarting LR resets and starts this all over again.
