And I appreciatye having to stick to stable release, which is why I was instrumental in Adobe not immediately removing access to previous versions when you update! When pressing I to go to layer Inpoint, (or O to go to Layer outpoint), often, but not always, the vertical line that extends from the Timeline Marker disappears.  Toggling I and O to move to the end and back, makes it visible. This has been a known bug for at eleast ten years, but it never used to come back at all. Thanks. Another little quirk the devs missed. If system specs were relevant, I woould have included them. I work freelance on many different machines, AMD, Intel, Apple, Nvidia etc. Most places keep their Adobe products up to date. I would always update OS, Adobe, Drivers etc. before reaching out. I can try, but as you can see, that is for a Geforce card not a pro card, so it may not have the effect. I doubt it has anything to do with the GPU. I have never had this in 25 years of After Effects so I assume it is something new. Be good to hear about possible things that can crash AE on app toggle.   ... View more

I am getting this error in 25.3.2 I have never had it before. The error only happens when I duplicate a comp and I am able to continue. Also, I do not get the error when I duplicate the duplicate I am guessing it is to do with 3D Instance layers in Advanced 3D but I don't know. I am new to 3d Instances and the Environment light. I am using a movie as the envirnment light source, so possibly that is also an issue. i7 10th gen. Not sure what the minimum spec is now and if a certain AVX capability is required now...     ... Hi I always keep GPU drivers and Apps completely up to date. I think this is a latest AE build stability issue. (This is happening more and more as the App gets pushed out of Beta prematurely to satisfy new feature obsessions.) Ae is able to crash the machine at other times as well. Hi It may just be an error with the HDMI output on the card, or HDMI implementation of the driver. Latest BMD update desktop video14.5 I can report that SDI 2160P is displaying correctly in Premere at 24p and does not crash if timeline is 709 and output is 2020. HDR flag is being sent over SDI. loks like the driver is good. but: I can report that 2160p is not displaying colour correctly at 60p in Premiere, despite the 4kEx12G and Premiere specification supporting it. I can report that Desktop Video 14.5 is allowing HDR output from the After Effects Beta. So the Mercury Transmit plug in is still not performing correctly or fully stable but it is great to see HDR support in After Effects. Hopefully Tangent support for Lumetri will come one day to compensate for removing Color Finesse.  Toggling back and forth to Premiere to grade does not fit a lot of workflows ... View more

Stumbled on this ancient thread and wondered why nobody suggested using output B from the decklink to downsize to hd for the hd monitor.  The only issue is you don't get audio on the down res feed in resolve, which is an undocumented annoyance.  Hope this helps other people who stumble onto this thread.  Having to choose scale up/scale down doesn't seem like a modern solution so we need to make friends with the dev team at BMD.  ... Many thanks and appreciation Kevin and Bruce for clarifying that Adobe teams support the API and BMD support the plug in. That makes more sense and hopefully communication between you can help improve the products' cooperation.  I'm not uploading a project because it's not project specific. It's any clip in a 709 sequence trying to play out as 2020. I'm guessing the after effects API doesn't support the HDR output toggle options that the transmit plug in has in premiere. It may well be my system or hardware that is at fault but thought I'd flag it as there is so much improvement and over hauling going on at present and I wouldn't want anything that got broken to impact too many people of it could easily be rectified.  I also know 14.4.1 addressed some pcie5 issues, so it may be the driver has had unexpected side effects.  I'm also aware there's always a risk of slightly less stability running threadripper.   Thanks for keeping the ship afloat everyone. ... Could be an AMD / Threadripper Pro / PCIe5 /  Windows 11 24H2 problem, or a BMD driver problem but I suspect it is and Adobe issue as After Effects has had poor Decklink support in recent releases as well. I have had this many times over the years. You have to manually delete all adobe caches and restart your machine. purging cache through the app or preferences does not fully clear the cache. I suspect it is something to do woth a bad block on SSD. I call them cache ghosts, and the do soemtimes render. But often they are simply stuck in a previous version of the frame so you can't tell what you are actually working on now. Not sure what the fix is, I think it is just AE hasn't joined the SSD world properly yet ... View more

I don't think this will ever be fixed. Think it is a disk permissions security thing. just have to specify every single cocking time. you can try building custom output templates so it always rendnes locally, but I couldn't get that to work ... View more

I think this is a WORKSPACE issue. I think if you have changed workspaces. or the file had a changed workspce, AE is going set workspace to Default, oh er .. which default .. er.. ZZZZZZZZZZZ. Changing permissions on workspace prefs isn't helping. If I just open files with appleO so the workspace isn't trying to change, it doesn't crash.  I am also on an unsupported external screen and adobe isn't very good at UI scaling because they have only had ten years to work on it.  Quicktime player crashes the whole system and I suspect it is a resolution communication issue as well... Good reminder from Rick about nesting any referenced comps in the main comp, and collecting from selected comp maybe is different to Queued comps.  Discovered today that DeClutter,   That's DECLUTTER   (the script every single after effects user should be forced to use on every single project before going home)   will sort any comps with footage referenced by the Essential Properties Media Confuser into the Main Comps folder to remind you to collect them as well. Not sure if that always works, or if it looks for expression linked comps as well, but it is a good extra stage to catch a few more dangers.  ... View more
