It turns out the company has both files on their server - no idea why. Some browers pick up the old verion. Others pick up the new. It turns out none of this the QR Code generator. Thanks for all of your input. Sorry this turned out to be a lemon post.

How odd. Mine still points to the older version from 2025-05. I'm beginning to think this is a server redirect issue and not the QR code generator. I've made other QR codes and never had issues. There are other QR codes in this manaul that work correctly.

I'm still getting the same wonky behavior across multiple mobile devices. The PDF files look very similar but they're not the same file. Please check the bottom right date in the footer of the 1st page. Copying and pasting the URL will show a date of 2025-07. Scanning the QR code will show a date of 2025-05. I'm including a screenshot of the 07 PDF which is what the QR code should be loading.

I'm on InDesign 20.5 mac Sequoia 15.5. I'm having difficult time with the QR Code generator. When I create this, I'm entering a URL that points to a PDF file. However, when I scan this code, it points to a different PDF file. I can't make heads or tails of this. Below is the link I'm putting into the QR Code generator: https://s3.amazonaws.com/s3.pilates.com/Instructions/19027%20Bravo%20Reformer_CE_CompleteManual%20web%204-29-25%20Eng.pdf If you click on this, it loads a PDF. In the right side of the footer there is a date 2025-07. If you scan the code below, it's supposed to load the same file with the same date. However, scanning this loads a different PDF with the date 2025-05. The only thing I can think of is when scanning, it's getting redirected to this other file. Any thoughts on this?

The document has over 30 P styles. Most of the copy is in Chinese and at one point had a different typeface applied to the p styles. However, the old typeface was still displaying for most of the document. When I drop the cursor in a paragraph, the style would display a + sign. I'd right click on the style and choose Clear Overrides and that would load the correct typeface for the style. With this being such a long document I didn't want to do this manually. So, no it wasn't a character style override, yet the trick Anne-Marie showed me with Find | Change works.

I didn't know about the button at the bottom of the P style panel. thanks for that! The method I posted was given to me by Ann-Marie Concepcion over 10 years ago. I just went back and tried it again, but this time, rather than click Change, I clicked Change All and it worked for the entired document for the loaded P style. The script didn't work for completely. I ran it and it said overrides cleared, but as i went through the doc, there were still lots of ovverides still in place.

I have a 100+ page InDesign file that has tons of overrides for the 20+ paragraph styles. How can I use Grep to clear these overrides? I tried doing the following but it's not working: Find / Change > Grep Find what and Change to blank Find Format > Style Options: Character Style - Any; Paragraph Style set to specific style Change Format > Style Options: Character Style - [None]; Paragraphy Style set to style specified in Find Format.

That means I'd have to reassign the styles to the text all over again. That will take too much time. I think what I'll do is go to the page that needs to be moved and do a select all and copy it. Then move the page. Switch over to the doc where the page was moved to. Do a select all and delete the contents and do a paste in place. What do you think of this idea?

I have an InDesign file that has many master pages. Some of them have to get moved to another InDesign doc. The master pages have many parapgrah, character and object styles. Right now when I move a page, the styles don't move with it. Is there a way to get the styles to move with the pages or do I have to manually load them from the orignal and assign them?

I'm using a aragraph style with the Paragraph Rule Above setting. Notice on the 2nd line in the screenshot, it wraps around to a 3rd line, yet the yellow background color doesn't follow it. What do I need to do to get the yellow to wrap around?

Good call! I tried this out with two files. One had guides and the other did not. Then I converted my layers in both files to smart objects. When I double clicked, the S.O. that had the guides it displayed them. The one without, didn't. Thank you for the insight!

I have a short mp4 video clip that runs a little over 5 seconds. It was made in PowerPoint and it displays 10 lines of type that appear sequentially line by line. It plays back fine on QuikTime, WIndows Media Player and the Premier Rush > Project Assets previewer. However, when I place it in the Rush timeline, it cuts off before the last line displays. Rush won't let me drag the end handle. I've never had this problem before. any ideas why this is happening?

iMac Sonoma OS When I open Acrobat, it shows the list of files that were previously opened. A little while back it stopped populating this list. Any idea why this would happen?

Hi James, I got asked this question by another designer. My response to her was do this when exporting to print PDF and choose single pages, versus spreads. Afterwards it got me thinking if this was possbile in InDesign itself. What you said about setting up odd and even page layouts was what I first considered, but you're right about it being a lot of hoops to jump through. There isn't any compelling reason to work this way other than to setup a visual workflow that matches the final PDF.

This is more of a curiosity question. I have a document set to Facing Pages for print. My Master Page has left and right margins that are set to the inverse of each other: Left page is set with a left margin: 0.75" and right is 1". Right page is set with a left margin: 1" and right is 0.75". If I were to uncheck Facing Pages to convert to single page, is it possible to do this where the layout converts, but the odd and even pages maintain the different margins (when it was a spread) like this: Pages 1, 3, 5, etc keep the left margins from the master page and 2, 4, 6, etc keep the right margins.

I have a PDF with an embedded video. The first time I played it on my Mac, I got a notification asking whethere to allow it to play one time or always. I choose Always. I copied the same PDF to my Samsung tablet and opened it on Acrobat. I don't get the notification asking whether to play the embedded video. I try tapping on the page with the video but nothing happens. i did a search on the Acrobat help file for Samsung within the app and nothing comes up when I search "embedded video".

I've been using the PS Beta and 2024. Today when I started working in 2024, the Hand tool wouldn't spring load when I held down the spacebar. The same thing occurred in the Beta version. Anyone else having this issue?

I use Thorium and Apple Books. Sometimes I'll use Google PlayBooks too. What's odd is I can't find anything on this. I just searched the InDesign User Guide for the Object Export Options and nothing comes up. It's a feature in the app so why is it omitted in the help file? I can't even find a youTube video on the OEO, let alone the epub:type feature.

I need of some clarification on how to use the epub:type field in the Object Export Options window. I read that this is to add additional navigation for an ePub and it's supposed to show up along with the Nav menu in the eReader app. What I'm not understanding is when I designate for example, the copyright page (epub:type copy-right-page), I never see "copy-right" show up in the menu when the ePUb is opened in Books or any other eReader. The same thing happens if I assign my cover page (page 1) to Landmarks. I never see Landmarks in the nav menu for the ereader. Yet I've opened up ePubs that I've purchased online and I'll see Landmarks in the nav menu. I'll tap on it and it will load the cover page. How do I get my epub:type to actually show up in the eReader app?

I made a presentation in PowerPoint. Two of the slides were linked to mp4 videos on my hard drive. I exported this to PDF, but the slides with videos just have the poster frame images. How can I relink these to the video files?

Hey Kevin, I'm using Prem Rush 2.10.0 Build 30. It's running on an imac 2019 with Ventura 13.6.1. When I have the Popping Square Transition on my timeline, I clicked on it to make it active. I go up to the Graphics panel and choose Save as; I name it Pop Square Tran. When I click on Install template, Finder shows two files that are named AdobeStock_xxxxxxxxx.mogrt - the x are numbers. I did a search in Finder for the file name I gave it and it finds nothing.

I'm using the Popping Square transition graphics. I changed the default colors for the Shape (Rectangle) and Shape (Rectangle 3). There is a menu to the right of Graphics panel that has an option to Save as, which I clicked on and gave it a name. Moving onto another project, I want to use the same transition graphic with the color values I entered. This time I went to the same menu and chose Install template, thinking I'm going to see the t.g. I saved. I just see a file named AdobeStock_423049493.mogrt. I clicked on it thinking this was the t.g. renamed with an Adobe filing naming convention, but nothing loads. Does this mean I can't save my t.g. with the colors I want?

I have a PS document with 3 artboards. These are 3" x 3" labels intended for a local print shop. When I launch the Export > Artboards to PDF, the Artboards to PDF window doesn't have the same settings like when I choose Save As > Photoshop PDF > Save Adobe PDF dialog window. What if I want to export my artboards to High Quality Print or Smallest File size? There's no settings for either in the A-boards to PDF option.
