I'm hoping someone has had a solution to this. I've recently moved my credit card from Visa to Amex and have discovered that for some reason Adobe doesn't accept Amex, which I find baffling as it's a globally recognised card like Visa. I can't use Gpay as I'm an iphone user and I keep clear of Paypal due to issues I've had with them in the past. That leaves me with no way of paying for my subscription. Creative Cloud is a nice to have for me these days, and not so essential, so I'd like to have it if I can, however, if I can't pay for it, then it's gone I guess. Anyone have a solution to this as it seems kind of nuts?

@Stan Jones @Kerstin Ebert Thanks for your responses. Apologies, when I said I mute the audio, I meant I mute the music and anything other than the dialogue. I just want to transcribe a sequence so using your recommendation I tried it with two different projects. One shot with a Sony FX6 and the 'Generate static transcript' worked perfectly. Then I tried it with the project that I've been having trouble with, which was shot with a Sony A7iii and the screenshots are the result. The first screen shot shows what I get in the transcription box and then the second when it gets turned into captions. So basically the transcription tool seems to pick up random words from the dialogue but doesn't transcribe everything. And, as I mentioned previously, sometimes if I pan the track audio all the way to one side I can get it to transcribe properly. In fact it worked on this particular example, but that doesnt seem to work everytime. The audio input into the A73 is the same in each channel so its strange that it sometimes work when I pan it either way. Thanks

Hi all, I can't seem to find the issue I'm having in any threads but this feels the most appropriate. Transcription used to work brilliantly but since one of the updates I am having nothing but problems. It simply won't translate full edits. If I try to have it translate a 3 minute video with clean sound (I mute the audio) it only transcribes half a dozen words and adds them as captions along the video. I've managed strange work around which sometimes work but sometimes don't whereby I pan the audio all the way to one channel left or right. It is so random and so very frustrating. Has anyone else had the same problem? And then the dumb thing in PP (unless someone can enlighten me) is that once you've transcribed a sequence, that's it. You can't do it again. You have to create a new sequence and the attempt to transcribe it all again, which it usually fails in. Thoughts?

The audio has just stopped working on the timeline forward of where I'm cutting. If I undo edit or delete the previous edit, the audio comes back. When I add another edit the audio stops working again. This is nuts! The work around is that I have to create two timelines. A first half and a second half. When I delete the first half that I've already edited, the audio comes back. Seriously Adobe need to look at this. Just another bug to add to the many I guess.

Thanks. Yes I have been using proxies. That has it's own weird issues where sometimes when you open up the project you have to relocate the proxies again. Not sure how that works. Apparently a number of sites recommend updating the bios as there was a number of Ryzen updates in it's first year, which required a bios update. That sort of thing makes me a little nervous. Has anyone else had results with that?

Hi Jeff, The problem isn't on exporting or any specific filters or plugins. It's overall performance. If I lay 4K slog footage in the timeline and just play it before adding and effects, it's laggy, the audio will drop frequently, and the other thing that is strange and annoying is that if I'm fastforwarding through the timeline (hitting L twice) it will move along at a pace and then suddenly jump back a second or two, then continue on. Very frustrating.

Hi there, Did you ever get your Ryzen to rise to the occasion? I've been nothing but disappointed with my PC set up, after moving from mac. I'm an editor using Adoble products and mostly Premiere Pro and I can't seem to get it to not stutter and drop out audio, when using 4K and I expected a lot more from this machine. I've had it two years and am very keen to go back to Mac but they're just way too expensive now. I'm running Processor AMD Ryzen 7 1800X Eight-Core Processor, 3600 Mhz, 8 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s) 32 gb of ram Any tips on making this thing work efficiently would be greatly appreciated. I have had nothing but problems with this latest version, including the problem you describe. I opened up a project I was using last night and in my editing window is nothing. Just blackness. I move from one workspace tab to another and everything changes. Sequences I haven't used for weeks suddenly reappear in the timeline window. I've mentioned it a few times Multiple Projects Open Bug? but have had no joy. I've actually started looking at videos of people making the move back to FCPx and even Resolve. I hope I don't have to move again but I did it when FCP died so you never know. I just hope they can resolve these problems because it's adding a lot of time to my day now.

Hey Brandon, Has it got any better for you? I'm still getting lots of crashes and just plain weird stuff. Today I opened a music track which I've been using on a project and for some reason Premiere is only seeing half the track. Bit hard to explain but when I open it in source panel there is only half of the waveform showing in the panel, and it will only play half of it, then it's dead air, yet when I open the track there is no issues with the raw file. It's bloomin frustrating.

Today is another day of bugs. I have been in the edit workspace all morning, i move to Colour and then when I go back to the Edit workspace there is nothing there. No panels, nothing. Just a big empty border of nothingness. This amongst a heap of crashes this morning, and the inability to Save As one of my projects, is driving me bananas.

I am also having major problems with my PC system crashing. I had no issues until I updated to 2018, and since then it's crashing numerous times a day. I've even had Media Encoder crash which has never happened to me before.....Just looking at media encoder now and it looks like it's crashed again. This sux.

Yes I'm finding this new version is incredibly buggy. I've been using PP for many years now and I've never had so many issues. It's very frustrating. And doesn't seem to be any particular thing that I can see that makes it crash.

I've changed all my bin preferences to Open in Place and the same thing happens. In fact this time I had two projects open. When I clicked on a different workspace and then back to the Editing Workspace, one of my projects had disappeared altogether, including the timeline and the other opened up two tabs in the Project panel. I really hope this is a bug and not the way it's supposed to be because it's very frustrating. I don't want to change to another workspace because I have to reset all my panels when I go back to the Editing Workspace.

Unfortunately trashing preferences has not worked. I have noticed that this version 2018 is quite buggy. I've had my media encoder crash a number of times since the update, and I don't recall ever having problems with media encoder and PP has also crashed a number of times more than I'm used to.

OK so this morning I opened up my first project, and then when I opened up my second project it has some how launched 7 of the same project into the Project Panel, so there is 8 project panels open (including the first project). I'll try dumping the preferences and see what happens.

Hi there, I was quite excited about the new feature to have multiple projects open, like FCP, as it's long overdue, however, I'm having a bunch of issues which makes me wonder if it's a bug or just a badly thought out feature. Firstly when I open a new project it opens in a pop out box which sucks because I then have to drag it into the Project panel along with the other project. And sometimes it opens and the project timeline can be seen but the project window will be missing. When I open a project it will randomly open up some of the enclosed bins (i.e. sequence bin) along the top of the Project window with the open projects. If I open another work space, like Audio, I will lose a project from the project panel, and then when I go back to the Editing workspace the project is still missing from the Project Panel, even though the missing project’s timelines will be open. The only way I can get the project back is to right click on the relevant project in the timeline to Reveal Sequence in Project and it will appear back into the Project Panel. However, when the project does appear back in the Project Panel the sequence bin from that project has opened as a separate panel and attached itself as a new tab along the top. Thoughts anyone?

Thanks Mr.K8, does does this mean that ALL external hard drives end up being allocated M for mobile or is it a specific external drive you have that you've managed to lock the letter to? In other words does this mean I can lock in a different letter for each of my external drives?

Yes I can do this and now that I have a PC I can fill it up with drives, but I also edit externally on my laptop then want to bring that footage back to my main suite and this is when I run into this issue. Of course I can transfer the footage, etc, etc, but at the end of the day it's clunky.......and simply not the way I work. Thanks though.

Thanks for the response Rob, but the problem is not that it doesn't remember the path. It does. The problem is it remembers the path to the letter of the drive, not the name of the drive. A new letter is allocated by Windows everytime you plug it in, so the letters change. That means that even though PP will remember the letter it is useless if the letter of the drive keeps changing. Why can't PP remember the name of the drive, not the letter, and is there a workaround? Make sense?
