Hey developers,
The team is now revamping the developer assets. The latest docs have a new format, look, and doc-level search. As we update the dev ecosystem, your feedback is appreciated. See https://opensource.adobe.com/acrobat-sign/developer_guide/.

I knew there were forum changes pending, but I had no idea the switch would be this radical. Found this text on another forum that's not dead yet:
"Between August 22nd through the launch date of September 11th, we will be transitioning our Creative Cloud, Document Cloud, eLearning Suite, and Technical Communication Suite community experience. During this time, we wanted you to be aware that all new threads posted and replies to existing posts in these forums will, unfortunately, be lost."
Anyway, I guess your config is still not working. This should be both simple and easy. I'll go bug some engineers. . .

Multitasking is apparently hurting my batting average here: I should have been specific and stated that the Wizard can only customize Acrobat, not Reader--that's in the docs (and I thought the Wizard UI but perhaps not). Anyway, the APTEE tool works for Reader. See: doc: Pre-deployment configuration (Basic) — Acrobat Administration Guide for Macintosh APTEE: Creative Suite Enterprise Deployment cmd line examples: Use --eulasuppress. MSI and Cmd-line examples — DC Deployment Planning and Configuration

I see: this is an enterprise deployment forum for admins who control machine configs across their organization, so the answer was an "admin/machine config" answer. Security should belong to the organizations who own the product, network, and data: it's their job to protect themselves as needed. Still, I'd prefer to give you an answer you'd that would help, and while there may not be any, here's more info: If the problem is that other people in your workflow see the yellow message bar (YMB), then that's admin-controlled and there's nothing you can do. Admins have several options on their end (link above). If the problem is you see the YMB, you may have several options: 1. You can disable Protected View IF your admin has not locked the feature so that you can't. In many organizations, end users can not change such app security settings (for good reason). 2. You can trust files, folders, and hosts so you don't see the YMB for files in those locations: Enhanced security setting for PDFs, Adobe Acrobat 3. Contact your admin and have them configure security settings.

Hi Laura, My answer above is likely the right one for you. Read David's response above as well. Protected Mode does not ask anyone to "Enable All Features". PM is transparent to users, there is no UI, dialog, etc. associated with that feature (unless there's been a new behavior change I'm unaware of). However, Protected View does show the yellow message bar. As David pointed above, there's a registry pref to turn that off. See Sandbox Protections — Acrobat Application Security Guide

I'm not familiar with the page you reference, but all updates are available via the release notes or ftp site. DC Release Notes — Release Notes for Acrobat DC Products There was a brief issue with FTP, and perhaps some links were changed. I'll ping the team and ask. Meanwhile, get updates from the link above.

The FTP site does not appear to be down, and I am not aware that it's ever been down. The issue above had to do with links. Try accessing from outside your network to verify it's not a network issue (for example, from your phone). As a wild guess, there are many tens of thousands of enterprise users that access the ftp site. It contains most of Adobe's products for all versions since the beginning of Adobe-time. If it was down, the forum would be flooded with posts.

New details: Due to the age of these files as well as the fact that the vast majority of users have already migrated to products which have been live for 2+ years, engineering has deprecated the transition catalogs. It is my understanding the files may see some string updates relatively soon, but new certs are likely a few months off (if ever).

Some options: Trust Methods — Acrobat Application Security Guide Use a supported server id method (see docs above) Leverage Windows OS security zone trust if it supports UNC paths Use doc certification trust if you're dealing with a small amount of PDFs. Otherwise, carry on as you have planned. I'll have engineering investigate.

Let me start with the usual "be careful" answer: Disabling protected mode is not recommended. It is designed to transparently protect networks in the background. Users rarely encounter issues or dialogs, and it does not provide per-document warnings. There are also multiple ways to trust files, folders, and hosts as needed. The yellow message bar is part of Protected View, so if you're looking to avoid those, configure that instead. For protected mode config, go here: Sandbox Protections — Acrobat Application Security Guide I believe you can set the HKLM machine level pref. There's a link to the Preference Reference there is you want to view the full range of options.

Links work on my end. This is typically an issue with your network (firewall, perms, etc.). Try it on your phone or outside of work and you'll see the ftp links are live.

As mentioned above, you have multiple options. You can get a single installer or a base + msp. DC Continuous track is the preferred and Adobe recommended version. However, keep in mind that disabling updates with that track is possible but not recommended. If you are using services, you shouldn't. If you are not using services, disable both the product updater and services plugin updater. The doc explains it.

I can see why it could be confusing. You need a full exe (which are all MUI) and the latest update. If you get Reader from Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Install for all versions you'll get a version "19" installer, but you can also get the latest exe (which is "17") and install the latest update. The easiest way to get what you want is from the website which will give you jp + en as the latest installer. It's all packaged together (last I checked) Enterprise also often gets installers from the ftp site. See link here: Acrobat-Reader Enterprise Toolkit Home. Or you can get an installer from other Adobe locations and update through the GUI and then deploy. Enterprise also often downloads the Wizard and configures the installer as needed (including languages) and then deploys. Some language config detail: Language Configuration — DC Deployment Planning and Configuration

You can disable updates in any product. The main thing to watch out for: If you use any services, service updates happen in tandem with desktop updates. See Basic Configuration — DC Deployment Planning and Configuration I'm not aware of any change to the privileged locations feature. Check this: Trust Methods — Acrobat Application Security Guide

Let's get the easy item out of the way: The Wiz knows nothing about 3rd party products. The settings you mention above are relevant when both Acrobat and Reader are installed and one or the other should be the preferred viewer. =============== I don't have IE installed, so I can't test it, but it appears this pref should do the trick: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ext\Settings\{CA8A9780-280D-11CF-A24D-444553540000} Create a DWORD pref named Flags and set the value to 1.

Hi Matthew, You seem to be using "Adobe", "Reader", and "Acrobat" as synonyms here. It seems like you don't have Acrobat, so I'm not sure what "push out an Acrobat install" means. "it" (an Acrobat or any Adobe product) cannot repair a non-Adobe product. If you only have Acrobat Reader (formerly Adobe Reader) and you don't want a Reader update to result in changing the default PDF viewer when there's a 3rd party product installed (in this case Nitro). You should be able to do that via one of the methods described here: . Setting the Default PDF Viewer — DC Deployment Planning and Configuration. Flash has nothing to do with Acrobat or Reader at this point. They were decoupled a long time ago. While there was an update pushed Tuesday, you say you're managing updates via SCCM, so the first question is: Does the add in behavior change immediately after you push?
