Hello, I'm (AI 27.0.1, OS 12.6) looking for the simplest method to convert an object with a basic pattern fill to a non-clipped, non-pattern object. For example, I'd like this fill to be paths that end at the border of the object: I know some combination of expanding, flattening transparency and pathfinder are involved but I can't seem to get it to work. Any help appreciated (also this seems like it would be a really useful script to include with the default set!).

Hello, using InD 16.4 on Big Sur 11.6. I have a document where I've set the dictionary in Preferences to English USA, and all the paragraph & character styles also have English USA set as the language. However, when I run Check Spelling, it's searching in Arabic. (The text was imported from Word but reformatted with new paragraph styles.) Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Hello, I'm a decades-long Illustrator user and couple-years-long Premiere Pro learner (CC 2020, OS 10.14.6). I'm looking to create a promotional video for an album release (which I did the art for in AI) which would include simple animation (mostly layer visibility- and puppet/asset warp–based manipulation of the cover art assets) plus video footage, type effects, and music (all of which I'd assemble in Premiere). My question is about which animation tool would be best suited for this--Animate or After Effects? Based on my research it seems like they could both do the job, but if one is clearly better suited to bringing into Premiere I'd prefer to shorten my learning curve. FYI the cover art is below--I would mainly be animating the flames, zooming in and out on the detail sections, and having layers appear and disappear. Thanks for your suggestions!

Lets you quickly isolate a layer, sublayer, path, or group of objects, from all other art in your document. ... but a text object IS a layer. (You can see it right there in the panel!) My issue is that it seems like they singled out text to not be isolation-able. Anyway, my question's answered, thanks for the replies and discussion everyone.

Thanks. But I can create a single rectangle, double-click it and go into isolation mode. So it does work in that way, just not for text.

OK thanks. I understand that the "double-clicking switches to text tool" is the expected behavior of course, but I wish there was a more intuitive way to enter isolation mode on text objects (such as the grayed out item on the layers palette menu) than creating an unnecessary group. (I don't understand why it makes sense to be able to group a single object, but that's another topic...)

Hi, AI CC 2019, OS 10.14.5. I'm trying to enter isolation mode on a text object (to edit the text frame), but double-clicking switches to the text editor. When I go to the object in the layer panel and open the flyaway menu, "Enter Isolation Mode" is grayed out. Is there a workaround? I have lots of overlapping text boxes I'm trying to clean up and isolation mode would made it much simpler. Thanks!

Thanks. It wasn't a multitrack session, just editing a Wav in waveform mode--but it does seem to be Full Reverb that causes the issue (doesn't happen with Studio Reverb). And file size doesn't seem to matter--it happens even on a short clip.

Hello, I've noticed an odd problem in the latest version of Audition CC (Mac, High Sierra 10.13.3) where any time I'm working on a file and open any reverb dialog (but usually "Full Reverb"), after I close it there's no playback sound and I have to restart Audition. This even carries over into Premiere--if I'm editing an audio clip from a Premiere project in Audition, use reverb, sound goes out on Audition, I quit Audition, go back to Premiere and there's no sound there either until I quit and restart). Other applications seem unaffected when this happens. So far I've only seen this effect when using the reverb effects. Any suggestions?

Hello smart people, I'm working on a video project of a 3-hour concert including 3 different cameras and 5 audio tracks (all of which are already recorded). I'm a little daunted by all this media as I begin the editing process, and am looking for some advice on efficient ways to deal with it all. A few specific questions: - Do you recommend importing everything into one omnibus Premiere project and then splitting of edits of individual tunes from there? - Am I better off mixing the audio into one file BEFORE importing into Premiere and syncing? Any other general advice or resource suggestions are welcome. Thank you!
