After Effects

Hello, I have HDR footage shot on an iPhone 16. The footage is rec. 2100 HLG. I managed to get it to display accurately in my PR sequence and export accurately, but I need to dynamic link a few clips to AE and that's where I'm facing issues. The footage is darker and washed out in the midtones and blown out in the highlights. It looks *similar* to if I interpret the footage as rec. 709 but not quite. When I right click on the footage in the project pane and go to Interpret footage > Color, it confirms that the footage is rec. 2100 HLG. I've already gone to Project settings > Color > Working color space, and changed the color space to rec. 2100 HLG W203. While there are a bunch of rec. 2100 HLG options, this is the setting I use to export out of Premiere, and in testing the others, this one is the least blown out. So the first issue is being unable to get the footage to display properly in AE. From there, the dynamic linked clip doesn't display correctly in PR, but at

I have a screen recording where I need to hide/mask some text.  Easy enough, but during the recording, the screen scrolls up, as well as the text on the screen.   I've addressed this in the past by using a mask in Premiere Pro (also in After Effects), and keyframing/adjusting position at each frame.  But I'm assuming this is something that could be handled much easier with either Motion Tracking or Content-Aware Fill in After Effects.  However, neither of these methods have worked for me.   Motion Tracking seems to get lost and quickly loses anything on the screen I'm trying to track (note: this is mainly a screen of text/labels, so no large objects...but the contrast is good, with black text on white background).   Content-Aware Fill gave some very odd results since other text scrolls through the same area in subsequent frames.   I'm hoping it's just my lack of experience with Tracking/Content-Aware Fill.  Anyone have any pointers on how best to

I'm having an issue with the pen tool I don't seem to be able to resolve.Let's say I make an object move from point A to point B in a straight line, but I want this path to be a little curved, so I use the pen tool to make the path more "roundish". Then I want it to stay still for a few moments and then move again to point C. So I place a new keyframe for it to stay still. But when I place this keyframe the bended path I made with the pen tool makes the object keep moving while I want it to keep still. What did I miss?Why is that? I guess I'm missing something here, but don't know exacly what. 

I'm relatively new to After Effects, but I've searched quite a bit and can't figure this out. I have two solids right next to each other.  At certain points in the timeline, I'll increase the scale of one or the other for emphasis - making it pop out for a second and then return to normal size. This works just fine for the solid layer on top, but the lower layer gets partially blocked.  I thought it would be trivial to move the lower layer up when needed via expressions, but I can't find a way to do that.

Good afternoon Adobe Community, So basically ever since I installed the latest version of After Effects which is 20.1 it has been laggy and slow whenever I use the toolbar to move something, type something, or even use the pen tool this is annoying because I checked my laptop, OneDrive and my Disk storage and they're all good so I have no idea as to why this is happening and I would love it if someone could tell me how to fix this immediately because like I said its annoying and frustrating so if anyone knows a solution PLEASE reply back to me ASAP. hi guysi want chnage my fonts in after effects but when i type "a" to select font witch started with letter "a", after effects showin me the wierd error. i have this problem since i use 2023 version until now witch i use 2025 version. can someone hep me?

I Place my footage in and it consistently repeats the first couple of frames. Im using 4k 60fps, the footage is 15 Seconds long.im on AE 2025. I haven't got any Plugins.  Any Settings that might help this issue???Thanks in Advance.

I went to export an image as a Photoshop file from After Effects (something I've done for decades)  so that I could modify them in PS and bring them back. Each export was taking for-e-ver.It took me a while to figure out what was going on.The export was (is) waiting for the RAM preview buffer (green progress line) of the entire clip to finish.In many cases my clip was quite long in the comp so it could take quite a while.So long that at first I thought it was hanging (crashing).And the only way to abort was force-quite the app and the cancel button does not respond. I'm pretty sure PSD export are in no way related to RAM buffer loading.So I can't help but think....bug?

I’m having an issue with the preview in After Effects. The screen is completely black, and I can’t see anything. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I have a problem when I activate 3D and when I move the camera, the elements move with the camera movement and do not stay in place   (As you can see in the video, I want this thing to remain stationary and not move when the camera is moving)

Hi, I dnt understand something, If I apply minus front using Pathfinder from Illustrator and Import that in AE it doesnot remain same. how come I never noticed it? Was it always like this or I am missing something.Please I need help.  

Hi! I'm developing an extension and I'm running into a bug when testing my ZXP on Mac. Able to repro on a fresh project (video attached), and on a friend's system as well. Here's the steps to reproduce:1. Main Panel: Button that runs CS Interface's requestOpenExtension to open a Settings Panel.  2. Settings Panel: Button that runs CS Interface's closeExtension. 3. I was trying the building split effect and  to create a 3D look. I created a mask underneath using a shape layer and wanted it to follow using track matte, but it's not following even when I use track matte. How can I fix this?

Hello everyone.I have a problem with the composition size of an LED screen that I have to make, the size is 46,848px 256px, and as you know the maximum size that After gives you is 30,000 in height and width. This may be really simple but I'm having a hard time finding where in AE menu to achieve this.Is there any way to add more frames in between two keyframes?  For example, in the image below.. If I want to add say 15 frames in between my "Scene 1 - Outro" and the 4s mark for all layers.  Is there a shortcut anywhere that will let me position the blue timeline marker in between the two time-code and add more frames to stretch out all the layers below?Thank you for all the help.

Currently in 24.6.1 on Windows 10 text justification in drawn text boxes is displaying incorrectly. I can kind of finagle with kerning each line. The font nor size seems to matter. Currently I'm laying type in Photoshop and saving out a PNG to get the text I want correctly. 

One of the things I was most looking forward to in the latest version of After Effects (CC 2018) was the ability to reassign keys. For example, I'd like to reassign "Show/Hide Opacity" from the "T" key to the "O" key and reassign "in" and "out" to other keys. But AE CC 2018 won't let me do that. What am I doing wrong?Thank you in advance for any help.

hello,i'm kinda new here,but i really hope someone read this and help me..i use After Effects cc 2018basically,i can't move my keyframes,nor highlight them (clicking),nor Easy Ease them,i'm also having problems with the graph,whevenever the error happened,i would highlight the keyframes (click and drag my mouse around the keyframes),go to the graph and drag the edges of the graph,because then the keyframes would also move,but now i can't move any of them..when i try to click on the graph an error text appears saying "after effects attempt to get an item address from a position outside of list length,error code 27:15"someone please help me

Hello, the Photo-JPEG codec is not in After Effects.Many other codecs are also missing.I need the Photo-JPEG codec.This codec has always been in the QUICKTIME section.I'm installing codec packages and it does not change anything at all.How can I reinstall it and show it?How can I install new codecs?

Ever since the update, AE 23 cannot import or read PNG files. Is this a new "feature"??? I get an error when importing PNGs. I'm on Mac OS 12.6 

Hey, So, thanks to After Effects not being so good with variable type. I'm trying to import my logo into AE which I then go to 'create shapes from vector layer' While AE does this, It seems I can't add a stroke to the shapes. instead there is a question mark (see screenshot) in the stroke window. No matter now many times I try to change this, It wan't let me apply a stroke. Any ideas?

Why Adobe Ae do It restrict for processor power of my desktop, when the information in the word is very light before new technology until 3-4 years ago is usefull for every coputer and device?
