After Effects

I have downloaded a bunch of presets off YouTube videos to use in After Effects, but every single preset that I try to use says: This favorite contains a reference to a missing effect. Please install the following effect to restore this reference."S_DissolveShake"The term in quotation marks changes depending on the preset used and often is similar to the preset name. I don't have this problem with the built-in effects in after-effects. Makes me think that I have imported the presets wrong or something. I dragged and dropped them into the User Presets folder. 

Hello everyone, I am new in after effects I am facing a weird issue in after effect final export. See the attached image the edges of the 3D shape layer are not smooth and have green color kinda stroke edges. I am not using any green screen but when I export this transparent clip it shows this kinda green edges around the shape layer in after effect canvas everything is just perfect. Thank you for your help

Hi!I'm trying to figure out how to solve color issues we encounter during a RED (R3D) workflow through After Effects. I hope someone can shine some light on this. We have interpretted the R3D inside AE 2017 with the RED importer (interpret footage > more options) as follows: - colorspace: Dragoncolor2- gamma: REDgamma4- rest as default, only the ISO as shot. We have left the AE working space to 'none', as we usually use OCIO to manage colors to know what happens. Though we mostly do some removal work on this footage, so we won't need much color changes.  The project is set to 32bit and we render image sequences to 16-bit EXR's with preserveRGB enabled. At our end, everything works as expected. However, the grading facility had trouble getting enough color information from the EXR's. Of course, you lose some dynamic range from the raw file when importing them with these settings. But I find it very strange that they claim the available colorgamut is sRGB, not DragonColor2. So, w

Hey hey guys, Just another issue. I am trying to make 100 frames stretch out to a 30 min video but the time stretch just doesnt work or default to 4 mins. The time warp isnt helping either. When i import the frames i just want AE to populate the entire 30min timeline not just a few seconds.What am i missing here?thanks

I want to fade out the two ends of a saber line. How can I do that? I already tried with playing the start_size and end_size, but if I'm set them to an equal value (e.g. 0), the whole saber line will be equal to the value I set.So I would like to achive some kind of fade from the middle to both ends of the saber line. How can I do that? I attach an image where I found an example of it. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I want to manipulate these sars' position values. but I dnt find their motion path. these little guys moving in a straight way. I want to them move in a curvy way. how can I do it? 

Updated to version 17.1 a while ago (don't dare to update to the newest version due to TO MANY BUGS!)Now when importing images they only show in the first frame instead of the length of the composition...I know how to prolong the frame by using "Freeze frame" but that is so tedious...Does anybody know how to avoid this issue?Thanks!

hi there anyone/everyone. i am just here to ask for some assitance in recreateing the effect in the video below in after effects.Its a frame interpolation from runway but the resolution is too low. It also takes too long to process. any ideas? or this isnt feasible in AE?many thanks

I really have no clue what is going on here. We have a large exterior display we build for. We've done a number of files for it, exported as prores 4444 and all has been fine. We have an outside contractor producing something for us. He exported from AE to prores 4444 and his file didn't run.  After a lot of poking around we saw that it was in YUVA color space, not YUV like the working files. Lots of testing and we're still having that issue, and now, when I export from my AE I'm now exporting into YUVA color space. This makes no sense to me and I can't see anywhere to make a change that will affect that color space. More than that I can't find online references for YUVA anywhere.  The only other difference i can see on inspecting the files is that the new YUVA renders are "Writing Library: Apple" where the working files were "Writing Library: adb0" So I'm assuming that is an Adobe vs Apple thing, but again, for the life of me i can't see anywhere to change thi

I am trying to loop a simple 5-second animation, and after 25 tutorials and 10 hours, nothing has worked.I've precomposed it, brought that into a new comp, and did the whole time-remapping, with the Expression set to loopOut .I've tried 5 different variations of the "cycle" expressionI've tried various Remap techniques. You name it, I've tried it.I export it to Encoder, and final  mp4 - does not loop, it just plays once.What am I doing wrong?I'm very new to AE. Thanks a lot.

After i have finished all the project i found that my laptop is very slow so i saved the aftereffects project to don't lose my work and restarted my laptop so when i tried to open the after effects file to export the project this message has appeared to me , my laptop is dell windows 10 and i have tried importing it in a new project but unfortunately same message appeared , can anyone help me please ? Hello,Please Help Me😓🙏I recently completed a video editing project in After Effects. However, after finishing,the application unexpectedly crashed. When I reopened After Effects, the project file (.aep) wouldn't open,and I received a warning that it is in a "bad format or not readable." Could you please help me with a solution?

I bought my 2023 Apple M2 Pro Macbook in october of last year. I downloaded after effects and installed third party plugins such as MBL, BCC, SAPPHIRE, TWIXTOR.   And After effects would run fine for almost a year, no crashes on exporting or while editing. But this month it keeps crashing due to faulty plugins and I don't understand. Becuase my Macbook was running these third party plugins fine but now it crashes constantly and I don't know how to fix it. 

Documnetation says hold the ctl key and use the scroll wheel to change the rotoscope brush size, but instead it just zooms in and out of the video. What is the fix? 

Hello, I am trying to make a few presets and i need to save the names as a property. Slider's effect nameShape nameText name This is a print of my expressions and the reason i need to save the shape layers and text layers NAMES in my presets.   I have felt the same need in other exemples but i share this one because i think it's a good one.  Can someone please tel me if that is possible to be made and how ?Thank youIsabel

I have a QuickTime video with transparency, but when it's imported into After Effects on my MacBook, the transparency doesn't show. Has anyone come across this? I would appreciate your feedback

Hola! llevo algunos días lidiando con un problema al exportar en after effects un video. Al trabajar en After Effects, observo que la previsualización del video está en los colores correctos, pero a la hora de exportarlo en Media Encoder, los colores no coinciden.  El archivo está diseñado en Ilustrator, el perfil de color del archivo lo tengo en ADOBE RGB (1998). En los ajustes de proyecto de AE lo tengo configurado el espacio de color en ADOBE RGB (1998)Agradezco la ayuda!  

hey.  I'm experimenting with rotoscoping for the first time.  I know there's a little green in it, but my question is - how come i'm only seeing a small portion (square) of the full video size?  I'm sure this is a Newbie display question so thanks in advance 🙂
