After Effects

Im on after effects 2023 and windows 10, basically i am trying to zoom in a video but i cant click on my keyframes to select them, but i can select both at once by clicking scale. When i do this, it opens the graph but im unable to edit it because there are no yellow boxes for me to drag, how can i fix this?

Hi, I'm sure this has been covered before somewhere, but couldn't find an open ticket.When exporting projects to render from After Effects to Media Encoder, an error message is produced:  This happens when using the Extensis Connect Fonts client. I've reached out to them about the bug, and received this response:This is because Adobe introduced a new 'feature' in version 23.6 onwards of Media Encoder which made it load all After Effects plugins in the background, however our plugin is designed specifically for After Effects only and is not designed for Media Encoder hence you will either need to roll back to version 23.5 or just click on OK to ignore the warning.

Hi!The tutorials to After Effects are missing at https://helpx.adobe.com/se/after-effects/tutorials.html# but I am able to see the headlines to the different sections of tutorials. Does anybody else not see the tutorials?

Hello! Previously when I applied Vegas to any precomp it would apply the stroke. But in the 2024.2.1 version, it shows nothing. I don't know what happened and what can be the solution. Can anyone please suggest me regarding this issue? Sincerely,Nazmul

I am working on a project. I used text and applied an effect to this text. I continued working, but then I needed another text with the same effect. However, I don't remember the name of that effect. When I go to the effect control panel to find out, I don't see the effect. Maybe it is not a preset, but I don't remember the name of the effect I applied to the previous text.

Hi guys,Anyone has this strange and annoying text bug?I have a composition which has: 1 text layerNow when I paste in another element (a .psd, a .mov, whatever) the appearance of the text moves upwards to the screen (to the top of the added layer?)Check:I already experience this bug for 1 year now and wonder what it is, why it is, ...?Lots of crashes also when changing properties of an already existing text layer. Mac Mini M2 32GB Ventura 13.3.1AE 23.3.0I stabilize a lot of timelapse drone images with Warp Stabilizer, but often it will freeze during the Analysis pass. If I restart AE and start Analysis again is will usually complete but sometimes I have to remove the effect, restart AE and then run Warp Stabilizer again to complete the Analysis step. I am currently running on AE 23.3.0 but this has been happening for awhile, on intel and silicon Macs and with previous versions of AE.

With the latest version (23.4) and the new sorting logic, things are becoming messy.While it is nice to have elements like 1 and 1.1 placed close to each other, many other aspects have changed.Now, compositions that begin with symbols like - or _ are placed below elements that start with numbers. Previously, it was the opposite.Additionally, if you have two compositions with the same name, but one starts with a single _ and the other starts with double __, the one with the double underscore will be positioned below the single underscore.This behavior is opposite even to what is used to in Windows Explorer.These changes significantly impact the naming workflow. It is beneficial for 1 and 1.1, but problematic for everything else.

It used to be the case that underscore sorted before alphanumeric characters and other symbols.  We have many projects where we have named items in the project panel with a starting underscore character (_) so that those items sort to the top of their folder.  However, with the change in sort order of recent AE 23 updates, including AE 23.6, the sorting order appears broken, and these items end up in the middle of their folder, after items that begin with other symbols or a number, but before items that begin with a letter.  Can Adobe fix this to restore the old sort order, which would also be consistent with the sort order in the OS? 

i'm using font manager with animated fonts, but it doesn't have the option to offset on the timeline per word ...so i get a giant list of idividual characters as layers. i'm asking if there is something i could put a sentance into and then have it offset the layer groups that contain each word?i wouldn't be asking if i didn't have a metric ton of these to handle.

ok so before I begin I'm completely new to After Effects and I just got it yesterday so it's a bit overwhelming. Also I apologize if my terminology is wrong. So currently, I'm trying to put a scale transition between clips and I was following multiple tutorials to do so. I set my keyframes and scales and selected both keyframes and easy eased them with f9. The tutorial had me then go into the graph. However, my graph has two lines, a red one and a green one that represent the X and Y scale. In all the tutorials I have seen, there is just one line on the graph and it's red. When I try to move one line, they move together. I have no idea what to do and it's getting really overwhelming. What do I need to do in order to make my graph one line?

I have seen people have similar problems on this forum but mine is the other way around. Whenever I press spacebar to pause, it either just goes on, or replays the pre-rendered part over and over. All the while not pausing until I have hit the spacebar about 5 to 10 times. 

My goal is to spread the design below in 3d space. Importing it as an ai composition causes after effects to freeze as it's way too many layers.I am willing to recreate it as seperate shape layers in after effects but I don't want it to crash when I'm almost done...Before I start, is there a limit to haw many 3d layer after effects can handle, or is there some other wayhow I can accomplish this?Thanks!

As you can also see it makes the panel very long to scroll down, I've restarted AE numerous times and closed the panel.

Hi. Trying to create some text templates using essential graphics. I've added properties for everything I need, but can not get the leading to work. Yes, I know it's not yet supported.Was able to ALMOST find a solution by adding an expression (temp = thisComp.layer("Leading").effect("Slider Control")("Slider");[temp, temp]) to my line spacing under the text animators. Created a null. Added a slider to it. Pick whipped the expression to the null's slider. It shows up and functions within my essential graphics, but is using both the x+y axis, so my text spacing is now being adjusted diagonally versus just moving up and down the Y axis like I need it ton (aka the text line spacing is moving both up and down, but also left to right simultaneously depending on slider input.)Anyone have a workaround to this? Plz send help.

I recently made a composition on After Effects, and my friend needs to edit it slightly (because of the limits of my machine). I have no clue how I can get it to him so he can edit it - I have tried sending the .aep file, but when he opens this the footage is glitched out. The file path of this footage is on my laptop and not his, so I think this is the issue. I do not know how to resolve this though.  I have also tried creating an adobe after effects team project, and then import the .aep file into that and invite him as a collaborator, but this doesn't work and he doesn't even end up seeing any files in the left hand side panel.  Any help is appreciated. 

when I open an extension, it turns out to be just a gray or strange screenI tried changing registry files, reinstalling, changing xml files, nothing helped. I did not find this error on the Internet 

Hello, I have noticed that PF_InData num_params is always zero and all examples are using hard-coded value of parameters count. It looks like a bug. I have a workaround I can use global_data, but it looks not so pretty and I would avoid it.

Hi !I got a question about the "Set Matte" effectsI want to use it on a ".png" files, to make appear a YT Logo on my animation, but it don't works while it does on a text, so IDK what to do. Anyone got an idea please?Thanks 🙂
