After Effects

Hey guys, as you can see in the title I have a problem with the frame-rendering time:  When I apply a bit more complicated effects (e.g. Pixel Motion Blur) in my project, the time for the frame-rendering gets extremely high (up to 1s per frame), even when I set the workspace bar very low, like 1-2 seconds. I already activated Mercury-GPU-Acceleration (CUDA) and Multi-Frame-Rendering, set the Disk Cache up to several hundred GBs (I know it doesn't have to be that high but just in case), of course updated my graphic drivers and gave After Effects 11 GB of my RAM.The thing that's weird is, the Task Manager shows only a pretty low utilization when actively rendering complicated effects: around 40% CPU, 70% Memory, 30% GPU and 0% Disk. My specs are the following:Windows 10 HomeNvidia Geforce RTX 2070 SuperIntel i7-8700k16 GB RAM200 GB SSD on which I installed After Effects 1.8 TB SSD on which I put the Disk Cache I hope you can help me with this problem, thanks

How can I change which way the text is wrapped around the cylinder, without changing the orientation of the actual cylinder?In other words, the effect wraps my footage around a cylinder that is standing up and down (portrait), but I need it to wrap it around a cylinder that is lying on it’s side(Landscape) I am fairly new to after effects but I’ve adjusted just about every paramter of the CC Cylinder effect I can think of and can’t seem to come up with an answer for this… The top image is how mine is wrapping around and the bottom image is how I want it to wrap around.

Hi, I dnt understand something. I was wodering what this 270 x270 mean. I took a 2d shape it says 270 x 270. I took a 3d shape it still says 270 x 270. I change position, scale, path, but it dsnt change. no matter how many shapes I draw it still shows 270x270. I am becoming mad for not figuring it out. Please help me to be sane again. what is it. what its telling me? 😮 Thank you. 😥😥😥😥

Hi,I downloaded this preset from Motion Array. 12 Free Modern Titles - After Effects Templates | Motion Array I copied the folder into my Adobe After Effect CC 2018 user presets folder. Then I went to After Effects and tried to look for it under Effects & Presets. But it won't show. I tried "Refresh List" but the downloaded preset still won't show. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!DeAnne

Hello, If I have an item selected in the project panel in AE. Is ther a way to get the filepath of the selcted item and use that path as a variable. Ultimately I'd like to pass that variable (the filepath) as a string into the system.callSystem(); object as a way to quicklook the selected item.  Is this possible? and if so what is the method to read the filepath attribute from whatever item is selected.   Thank you in advance for your help on this.  

I'm trying something called a hyperlapse, I will post the tutorial at the end of the post in case that will help fix my problem. I have precomped my footage and added 'Warp Stabilizer VFX' in the 'Track and Stabilize' extension window when you right click the footage, I have been trying to fix this issue for a while now and have updated my AE to the very latest update. When I apply the effect and choose my smoothness % it says 'Initializing..' Computer has been running all adobe apps no problems for 6 months. Windows 11, all apps are up to date. No changes were made but now every time I try and save my work after effects crashes. If I run as an administrator I can save my work but I can not drag and drop a file from windows explorer into the porject panel (not allowed). Also happening in Photoshop, what is going on and how can I fix it?

Hello AE Community, For years I have used the Mister Horse presets. Recently, I changed to a new computer and need to add the presets again. Unfortunately, our IT blocked Mister Horse’s company’s servers. They said that someone from Adobe needs to confirm that it is safe. For credibility purposes, I’m hoping that this post catches someone’s eyes from the Adobe team, and that person can reply confirming that Mister Horse is safe. Appreciate any help.

Hello Adobe Community,I am experiencing a recurring issue with Adobe After Effects related to memory allocation during frame rendering, especially when working on projects with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 at 8 bpc. The error message I receive is: "Unable to allocate enough memory to render the current frame (1920 x 1080 @ 8 bpc). Either decrease the memory requirements for the rendering of this frame, or install more RAM. (12805)." This problem seems to be unique to After Effects, as I do not encounter similar issues with other software.My system specifications are as follows:Processor: Intel Core i5, 8th GenerationRAM: 32GBStorage: 500GB SSDGraphics Card: NVIDIA MX110 with 2GB VRAMDespite these specifications, After Effects struggles to allocate the necessary memory for rendering, which impacts my workflow and project productivity.I have attempted several solutions to reduce memory usage, such as lowering the project resolution, reducing color depth, minimizing the use of complex effe

Hello, I’m have a few pseudo-spheres using CC Sphere, that I am moving around. To simulate a common lighting (from the top left), I have some expressions in the Light Height and Light Direction of all the spheres. It kinda works, but it’s glitchy: the lighting jumps from one condition to another at seemingly random moments, and not for every sphere at the same time. See the attached reduced debug file, with only one sphere. Watch the animation in full. Instead of being smooth, the lighting jumps, for instance at 0:00:01:12, at 0:00:03:05, at 0:00:04:18, at 0:00:10:19, etc.I’m using these expressions:Light Height:100 - Math.sqrt(transform.xPosition^2 * transform.yPosition^2)*2(Pythagoras to get the distance from the top left corner and scale it to the property) Light Direction:-radiansToDegrees(Math.atan(transform.xPosition/transform.yPosition))(Trygonometry to get the angle from the top left corner) Could someone help me find out what’s actually happening? I am having issues with Cinema 4D Comp Renderer and Advanced 3D Comp Renderer, and finally got contacted by Adobe's agent, who told me that there somewhere is Upcoming Features section - is anyone aware of such one? I was unable to find one, however it would be essential to at least approximately know on what features devs are working on, to be able to plan the R&D for the ongoing and future projects. E.g. they are implementing the Advanced 3D renderer, which has many good things the Cinema 4D renderer has, except you can't Accept/Ignore lights - even there is no lights at all, the layers are shaded. Where can I find IF they plan to implement that feature? Are they going to abandon/assimilate C4D?Then, the agent said, the only way to get in contact with the devs (and apparently find out about the planned features) is to sign up for beta-testing, post in Community forums that you are willing. Hello, I have been experiencing crashes ion all my Adobe software (AE, Premiere, Media Encoder...) when cliking on the "open Project" menu.I don't even reach the selection of a project since the "open project" menu freezes and AE then crashes.I have cleared the cache, rest preferences, unistall/re install AE, even the Creative Cloud app, updated my gpu drivers... Hello! Before I begin, I just want to disclaim that I am relatively new to after effects–especially on the graphic end of things. Previously, I was building the lower third in premiere for each edit, but I can't afford to spend my time so tediously. I'm trying to create a .mogrt that I can import into premiere as an easy customizable lower third to save time. However, is there an expression to just make the width of the line adaptable to the text? The only YouTube videos I can find deal with "sourceRectAtTime();", however I do not want the height of the line to expand, and I've tried to use it with just width and not height but get the error code: expression result must be of dimension 2 not 1. Am I using the wrong expression? Is there a better way to achieve what I need with the layout of this lower third? Open to any and all tips, I am strugglingggg 

I have Sonoma 14.6. As After Effects version 24.5 launches, I' getting warning notices like, After Effects warning: there are multiple copies of plug-in "Photoshop Layer Import" on your hard drive. I'm a long time Adobe subscriber and need, step-by- step help finding and deleting multiple copies of plug ins in After Effects. Thanks 

i was trying to save my video's progress so i don't lose it and it comes up with this message saying after effects warning: error with file (user name and file name). but after the file name it comes up with these numbers -> 332.4367050176.aep ?? i never named the file with these number either.Anyways i tried to save it to different locations such as my desktop, another folder, documents folder. and it still wouldnt work. heres the message

image buffers of size 25000 x 25000 @ 8 bpc (2.3 GB ) exceed internal limits.When I want to import photos into the after effects ,I get a limiting error while opening multiple times this size in Photoshop ( 86000 px 43000 px )  I am grateful for the efforts of the makers of this software and I hope it gets better every day. But why do you design your software like this with these unnecessary restrictions? I have 64 gigs of RAM, a simple software opens a 25000 pixel photo, but the professional after effect software says I can't! What logic does this make? Your manager (Kevin-Monahan) says to solve your problem by calling us! You remove the limit. If the photo is big, I will wait until the process is finished or anything . why you stop us to use big file ? i need big file for more details.I emphasize again, I am grateful to all of you 

Hello,I want to try out Adobe after effects but I have problems with rendering speed.I cannot change the GPU since it is installed in a laptop.I have an Intel i9 and 32 GB of memory, my system is also full SSD enabled.For what I have been trying now the rendering is very slow.I have been looking to optimize the settings for the NVidia board and therefore I found this video.https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=g4NltnUcScI But when I apply these setting I start getting memory errors.In the comments on the video I could read that many people noticed speed decrease instead on increase.So does somebody know sttings that could work for this board?
