After Effects

hello, I am trying to export for web. My final product needs an alpha channel because it is used as a border for live feed. Every time I export I get file sizes anywhere from 200mb+. My intention is to get 50mb and below. I know it can be done because I have files that are less than 20mb and have the same animations. The person I got the files from will not share their wisdom. I am using Adobe After Effects, usually with the saber plugin. What can be done to achieve the goal of 50mb or less with alpha channel?

When I import TIF into AE, the content shown in the picture below does not appear. My image is imported into AE as a whole (the second picture is the state I opened). I am sure that there are three layers when I open it in PS. What is the reason? 

Hi I am new to After Effects (Great experience so far) but have an issue dont know where I did wrong and unable to find solutionWhen I worked on the compostion everything was fine but now when I reopen the project, I am facing 2 problems (observed so far)1: The file names changed be itself.12w → w (composition)12w.png → [12-12]w.png (source file) 2: the original duration of the file/composition geos 0:00:00:01 and that length does not work for me. Max stretch is 9900 which makes it 0:00:03:09. That length also dont work for me plus that huge stretch doesn't make sense. I am basically creating whiteboard animation and when I copy mask path to another file (human hand), everything goes wrong. (Needed to mention that I already created some similar animations successfully)

Hi all, I'm trying to super-impose something into the river in this clip and make it look like its "behind" the railings. I've tried rotoscoping everything that isn't water and putting that on top but the results have been quite poor. Any other ideas?

Hello, it seems i can't change colour of text after i have added a mask and changed/animated the text position. Before this it does change. I want to add the option to change the colour of the text when adding to a template. Any ideas? It might be something simple i haven't turned off or on. It's the SNE2 Composition. Thank you.

Hi, We have a problem with Adobe After Effects. It randomly logs out of the account and closes the program, asking us if we want to save before it does.  Can someone help us? Thanks.

I've been having issues with After Effect (version 15.0.1), on my newly purchased computer. When I open a project, and move around on the timeline, it causes my computer to crash within seconds, in a way I have not experienced before. - My 2nd screen goes black, and the computer freezes. Most of the time the computer restarts on its own. Sometimes it just freezes, and there is no response when moving the mouse, or pressing the keyboard. I have tried letting it be like that for 15 min, and with no sign of unfreezing I have to shut it down manually.I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but no changes. I have not been able to replicate the error in the 2017 version of After Effect.I cannot replicate the error in the 15.0.1 version on my laptop. Hi, When I finised rendering AME I can see some of the comps are blurry and some are not. flowers I have drawn in AI. later converted in shape layer in AE. But the comp 'Bee' I drew in AE., its not blurry at all,  all the comps are 1920x1080. I dnt understand why its happening. Please help me.  

Hey all,I am trying to animate a character walking through a webpage. I have a video of the webpage movements and clicks etc and want to animate a peacock over this video. What is the best approach, animate the character in Animate or in AE? The video is 11min long. I have tried to do this in Animate, however ran into issues with saving an opening. I would lose my work every time I closed the app and layers would be invisable when opening. The communiy suggested this could be due to the warp tool or even the camera tool I used. So, I took the animation into AE which is new for me and although I have managed to rig a character, I can't figure out how to animate it, scale, move, etc without the rig messing it up. I'm new to animation and not even sure if AE is the right software to get the job done. I wanted to reach out and see what suggestions people have before I commit more time to possible mistakes. Many thanks!

My audio is not working correctly in AF.  It plays normally in the clip, but in the final comp and preview, it has an echo, like it's playing from the clip and final comp at the same time.  I've checked the settings and can't figure it out. 

When I try to render my video from After Effects the audio is not synced. I have visuals that go with music and the final render is always not lined up properly. I also have tried using Media Encoder, and while the music is synced, I still have a couple of problems. When I use Media Encoder, some frames end up not in the final video either, and some clips freeze and hold longer than they are supposed to be. Anyone run into this and is there a solution?

Hallo zusammen, seit einiger Zeit habe ich ein Problem mit einer  Pfadzuweisung. Immer wenn ich Strg + M zum "auf die Renderliste" anfügen verwende, wird der Ausgabepfad auf eine Verzeichnis geleitet, das ich so nicht gebrauchen kann und deshalb gerne dauerhaft ändern würde. Ich bekomme das einfach nicht hin. Es springt immer zu diesem Ordner, wie kann man das ändern? Ich habe mir ein Template mit einer Ordnerstruktur angelegt, was AE bei jedem Starten öffnet, so brauche ich nicht jedes Mal die gleichen Ordner neu anlegen, nur dieser Speichpfad will nicht, was ich gern will :-). Vielen Dank für eure Tipps.Bea

My after effects has been lagging so much for the past few days and I am suspecting that it's because of the recent 24.5 update since I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with my laptop. Just want to make sure if anyone else is having the same problem?

After Effects will only import a single dng sequence.I shoot a lot of video as Adobe Cinema DNG and in the past I've imported hundreds of such video clips. Normally, upon import of the dng image sequence, After Effects automatically launches Adobe Camera Raw which allows me to grade the image. I click OK and After Effects brings in the dng image sequence. I can create a composition and export as an .mxf file through Adobe Media Encoder. This workflow I've used for years, hundreds of times, without a problem.Now, however, After Effects freezes while importing a dng image sequence.With a new project, I can import one dng image sequence without issue. When I try to import a second dng image sequence, After Effects freezes or hangs on import. It freezes trying to launch Adobe Camera Raw, which never opens. Hi, I am experimenting expressions. so I have done bar animation  with digits.  Suddenly I feel like why not making the digits start animating from invisible to visible.  I mean when the bar animation will start the digits will come into existance. then I link the opacity of the digits with trim path 'end'. But the opacity is not producing what I imagined. Then I realized opacity is taking trim path's movement exactly on same increment. I mean when trim path end value is 10 the digit's last opacity percentage will mimic that. because both range from 0-100.then I multiply the opacity expression  *10.  beacuse I knwo I can apply basic math on expression. Am I  thinking right? or totally miscalculate it?    or there is some other way I can pull what i imagined. Please guide me. I want the opacity of digits to start from 0 - 100 as the trim bar progresses, both (opacity speed and trim path's speed need to be same). 

Hi all BIt of a novice on expressionsI have a lot of text I need to animate, what i'd like is an expression which uses the inPoint and endPoint of the layer to play the text Animator and animate the words in and out. Mainly so that I dont have to adjust the distance between keyframes depending how many words are in that text layer, meaning the speed of the animations are consistent/standardised. e.g A text layer with 1 word will take 0.1 seconds to transition, 5 words will take 0.5 seconds, and a layer with 10 words take 1 second.I'm currently using this bounce expression on an Expression Selector in the Animator-delay = .00; myDelay = delay*textIndex; t = (time - inPoint) - myDelay; if (t >= 0) { freq =0.0; amplitude = 250; decay = 10; s = amplitude*Math.cos(freq*t*2*Math.PI)/Math.exp(decay*t); [s,s] } else { value }this basically does what I'm after (though has unnecessary bounce code in there as dont know how to remove), but I'm struggling to

Hello everyone,I've recently started working with the team project functionality for After Effects. One thing I cannot find support on is managing version control for After Effects teams projects. There are materials for PremierePro but does that exists for After Effects? Is there a way to manage versions, revert to previous versions of a team project in After Effects? Help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there, I'm writing an expression that connects an objects scale to it's Trace Path progress value, so that as the object travels down a path, it scales up. But I don't want the scale to be linear, I want it to ease up in value as it completes the path. I wrote this expression for the scale property of the travelling object:a = effect("Trace Path")("Progress"); x = easeOut(a, 0, 100, 0.3, 100); [x[0],x[0]] But I keep getting the error: "Undefined value used in expression (could be an out of range array subscript?)" The error confuses me as I thought I had defined all variables needed for the expression. Any thoughts on what I'm missing?

Hi all,i have to modify a setup, which allows the user to highlight one or multiple words by adding “**” before and after. The original setup works by adding “=” ( For example: This is a =Highlight=). On a separate Text Layer, everything outside those two “=” characters is then faded out by an expression selector and a specific font is chosen to generate a colored box behind the marked text (in this example only behing the word “Highlight”). This setup works pretty good so far, but i can not find a way to mark the words to be highlighted with "**" (two characters) instead of one ("="). Anyone any idea how to modify the following code to make this work? I have already tried to add && txt[i+1] == "*" to the if-statement, but that doesn`t seem to work as expected. It kind worked / find`s the right In-Point / Start of the highlighted word, but messes up the letters / doesn`t find the correct Out-Point of the marked word.Many thanks in advance! const txt = thisComp.layer(“Maste

Hi, I'm working in AE 24.5.0 Build 52 on a macbook pro 2019 (latest software updates).  I have some markers popping up on the map when I've zoomed in on Florida and I parented them to the map there. However, when the map zooms out, the markers seem to stay the same size and position and don't adjust at all. Am I doing something wrong? I tried changing things so they were parented to a null layer but it didn't seem to work any better. Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi, Layers with 3D effects, whether it be built-in or third-party effects, stop reacting to any changes to camera movement I apply after adding the 3D effect.I'm having this issue with both the built-in CC Environment effect as well as the entire Trapcode Suite, Element 3D and FreeForm Pro. Freshly adding any of these effects to a layer makes it react & transform accordingly, but any camera values changed retrospectively just won't apply. I have tried purging the Media & Disk Cache & turning on/off GPU acceleration, all to no avail. I'm quite frustrated with this. Appreciate any help!

Hi, does anyone knows how to fix this problem it's not letting me to do my projects properly and it's so annoying and I can't even save file I had to force stop it from task manager to even close my AE program.
