I was working on a linked AE project from Premier. Spent a few hours making changes to the AE project. Saved. Popped back over to premier, and the link was broken. I saved my premier and AE projects and closed. Once I reopened premier, the AE file was no longer in the folder, and the only auto save versions were from yesterday. I'm on a Macbook Pro. Please Help.

When using a dedicated monitor for live preview before rendering, the text always looks fuzzy as compared to the original. Hello, I am having trouble exporting a transparent video from AE. I have made the background transparent on my video as well as the fill (only a short animation of the stroke), Everything shows up correct on the AE preview with the right transperincies the problem is the export. When I add it to the render queue I make sure to change the settings to: QuickTime, RGB + Alpha, Apple ProRes 4444 and it still comes out with a black background... I've tried compressing the file after and selecting preserving transperency, but still black.  Please help! Thank you. Additional Info: I am trying to make this transparent video so I can then upload it to WIX as part of my web design project.   

  How can I create a subtitle effect that starts after 13 seconds of the video?13~19sec(Smoky dark red subtitles appear in the background of the man) 

I have an arrow that I need to appear from the bank of the water and rise up which I have done. I have Shape Layer 1 that the arrow comes up from. The red arrow is set to Shape layer 1 and the Alpha Matte is inverted.I have Shape Layer 2 which is the blue square above the arrow. I want the arrow to disappear behind that box. I want to make a continuous loop of the arrow rising and dissappearing. Best practices?

I want to upgrade my laptop. I am currently using Macbook air 2017 with 8GB RAM. After effects running very slow on this machine. I am thinking to upgrade to Macbook Pro M3 Pro 18GB RAM. Please feel free to suggest any better laptop.

Hey all,I have a compositions named from P1 to P10 (I'll call them "Parent" compositions) consisting of shape "RandShape" and  composition named "C" + number according to the composition in which it is located (I'll call them "Child" compositions). Compositions "Child" consisting of shape "ParShape". I need to change ParShape's color to RandShape's color. RandShape's color generates randomly. Any ideas how to do it with script?

I found this color blending formula on a blog: where a1, a2 are the values of alpha channel of image below and above(divided by 255), C1, C2 are the color channel values.I was excited, but as I tried to dive further into the formula and do some experiments, I encountered some problems. As the formula suggests, when a1 = 1 and a2 = 0.5, if you swap the color of two blending layers, as long as you keep the alpha channel value unchanged, the result is unchanged. However, when I do an experiment in AE, there are some subtle differences:At first the alpha value of layer 1 is 1 (“不透明度" for "opacity"), the information showing the original color value. Now we change the alpha value of layer 1 to 50%:then we swap the two layers and change layer2 value to 50%, and change layer1 value to 100%:As you can see, the values of final results have subtle differences, but it shouldn't happen according to the color blending formula. Why is this?

In this tutorial, we're going to travel from one point in space to another. Is this true,scientific representation of travelling through a wormhole? Probably not, but it's based on some concepts for tranversible wormholes. This video builds on previous tutorials and assumes you're comfortable with creating a 360 space scene. Then using the free 3D Precompose script from Video Copilot, I link cameras in each comp. And then use a 3D mask to cut a hole out in one comp to see the other. Then I dress up the look of the wormhole using an adjustment layer with a reuse of the same mask but altered using Essential Graphics. I cannot make this work like in AE if I want to get the state of the current layer (index 0). I invoke it like A_Time curr_time = { host_time, ae_data.in_data->time_scale }; A_Time one_frame_dur = { ae_data.in_data->time_step, ae_data.in_data->time_scale }; suites.ParamUtilsSuite3()->PF_GetCurrentState(ae_data.in_data->effect_ref, 0, &curr_time, &one_frame_dur, &ae_state);Returns different values on every frame. In PP however I always get the same state. Is it supposed to work in PP?

Dear Adobe,Could you make the XMP file editing on help page more plainly?I think We can customize the created date in the XMP file that will be related to the created date of actual file.macOS user uses a command "settle -d" to change the created date of a file. However, When it execute against a 360 video(.MP4), It's necessary to change the created date of XMP file, too.But I don't know how to change the created date in XMP file. It seems that we can change the date value using text edit.app(notepad[Windows]) not XMP explore. Then, It will be possible to road it into XMP when we run Media Encoder to export.Could you kindly tell me how to do it on help page of XMP of Adobe? If there is no such a way, Could you enhance After Effects, Premiere Pro? Best regards,

hello I have big problem when i open after effects there are dailog came to me such as "crash reports options" and when i choose any of the resetting or safe mode it`s also not opening why ??????  please help me in this problem

Whenever I open a specific project in AE I get a Missing Font dialog, but the text layers in the project do not seem to be using that stated missing font (Replica). The project is a MOGRT that has 4 text layers. One is a master layer ("Caption Text") which is used in the EG panel to have the user type in the text and change the font properties. The other three layers have the following expression on the Source Text property to display the text from the master layer:sourceTextProperty = thisComp.layer("Caption Text").text.sourceText; newStyle = sourceTextProperty.getStyleAt(0,0); newStyle.setText(sourceTextProperty);When I search for "missing font" in the Timeline panel Search box, the three "sub" layers are shown.  All text layers show they are using Roboto in the Character panel when I select them individiually or as a group. Where else could the missing font be hiding?

For example a script or something to lets say apply opacity from 100 to 0 starting on 1st frame of clip and ending on last not having to do it manually because all the clips are different lenght?

Hi I have a trim path and an object that I would like to follow the tip of the trimpath. I believe something goes wrong with the conversion of layer-posistion to comp-position. Hi there, just looking for a bit of guidance here. I am looking to animate some illustrations, I usually use quite a bit of texture and blending modes for lighting (usually I would do this in photoshop but going to do it entirely in illustrator since the client wants SVG). Is it possible to export an animation from after effects with noise/ grain effects to SVG? Or would those elements be raster based? I am aware that I would need to use the Bodymovin or similar plugin to export the SVG, but I just want to make sure you can get decent textures etc to export as SVG? Or is it a better approach to create the animation in Animate and export SVG from there? I have no experience with Animate but would give it a go if it’s the best solution for achieving the effects I want.  Thanks in advance 

We always make animations in AE and export to .mp4.However, we'd like to learn how to import our AE project in to a software programme and export to .SVG (export to SVG from AE would be nice)What is the correct work flow for this task? And indeed, what is the correct Adobe package or other?Animated GIFs and .swf files aren't quite right.This is just for simple animated logos for the time being. On a transparent layer even. Are SVGs limited to line art?All help appreciated!Matt

Hi Everybody, I have a situation where I need to extract a pine needle wreath from a white background. It's a pretty clear pop, except for the shadows. The shadows are not budging and I can't seem to find a way to remove them with out it affecting the core of the wreath, and trying to 'garbage matte' the stems of the tree back in would be...horrendous. At that point it's cancel the wreath, insert snowflake instead.  I've attached an image to demonstrate what I mean, if anybody has any suggestions, I appreciate it. Thanks for reading!

I learned Premiere before After effects and the import will not reveal MP4 video. Instead its black. Audio is working. 

Hello, it seems i can't change colour of text after i have added a mask and changed/animated the text position. Before this it does change. I want to add the option to change the colour of the text when adding to a template. Any ideas? It might be something simple i haven't turned off or on. It's the SNE2 Composition. Thank you.

I'm currenly working on a script which uses Dropdown Menu Control effect. I can use this Match Name : "ADBE Dropdown Control" to add Dropdown menu to a layer.But If I want to check whether a layer contains dropdown menu using this same Match Name it doesn't work well. I've tried alert the matchName of existing Dropdown Menu. It randomly changes something like "Pseudo/@@qpFySX4lSVK41BTpoPU+jA"  How to verify If a layer or multiple layers have dropdown menu added in it by it's matchName?
