After Effects

We have one file that is resisting all the regular troubleshooting steps to be able to be opened in After Effects.Details >- opens fine on Mac, crashes seem to be relegated to Windows computers (but not all windows computers)- newest version of Ae on all related computers- Windows are all running Win 11, Mac is running Sequia 15.0.1- file begins to load, then crashes after AE starts up- file dialog for saving a copy loads, but doesn't save new copyTroubleshooting we've tried > - opening in safe mode- clearing cache and opening- loading into fresh after effects project- saving new copy of file from computer it works on- saving a 23.x copy of file from computer it works on- closing Dropbox (what we use for file sharing and syncing) and opening file- reducing project from computer it works on and opening I'm attaching the logs from the last open, would super appreciate if anyone has any ideas of how to sort this out!

 I am trying to automate the rendering of a very large number of projects (5-15k), however on mac, whenever I use the -reuse flag (since restarting aerender every time becomes untenably slow, where %95 of per project render time is aerender opening and closing aerendercore/whatever render engine is being used).  Trying to launch with a simple test project from terminal: % ./aerender -project ~/Desktop/test.aep -comp Comp 1 -output ~/Desktop/sap_out/out\[####\].tiff -reuseaerender version 22.6x64aerender ERROR -1712: AESend failed to send apple event at line 939 Where test.aep is just a comp with a single solid layer, although that doesn't matter since it obviously fails way before it ever connects to AE. I've made sure that an instance of AE is running (I've tried both render engine and normal), I've enabled automation of AE in privacy settings (and full disk access, just in case), and nevertheless the problem persists. This error appears to be propagating

I do not encounter this problem when working in After Effects. I get this problem when I close the work after it is finished. The program gives an error and closes, and when I try to open it again, that work does not open.

Hi, Some days ago my AE started with this issue, this popup happens when i close AE: After Effects Error: Crash occurred while invoking plug-in "CEP Manager" (image 1)I have problems inside Ae and i dont know if they happen because of this:- I can't write nor delete layers.- Not all Shorcuts work.- Can't change comp names.I've already reseted preferences, uninstall and used CC Cleaner Tool, all of this multiple time with no change.Even after using Cleaner tool, when i reinstall Ae and open it, it gives me the message that it crashed before  (image 2) and if i want to start in safe mode. which i've done multiple times with the same results. But weirdly still happens after clean install and deleting preferences.So i dont know what else to do and i can't find any other solution online.This happens on a Macbook Pro 14-inch, 2021, with Sonoma 14.3.1 and Ae is in the last update 24.2.1 (build 2).

Hi, please help me. I installed a plugin that isn’t working. After uninstalling the plugin, Media Encoder stopped opening when I tried to import my project. Initially, After Effects wasn’t working, but I fixed that. Now Media Encoder shows this error.

I created a composition in Illustrator and animated some elements in After Effects. There is an expression to ghet a flicker effect and some animated fire works. When I export as an Animated GIF from AE, I get lots of artifacts across the entire image.  Before you say, "do it in Photoshop", a lot of work and many layers went into the original Illustrator composition. Any suggestions? When I export the same clip an Mp4, there is no artifact issue.Thanks

I'm posting this PSA in the hopes that people will find this from searches, instead of spending hours or days debugging, or even returning their computer as one person said they did. Problem: Mac computers (possibly limited to M1/M2 Apple Silicon machines) have a major bug with dual or multiple monitors and certain creative or graphically demanding applications. After Effects exhibits laggy ram preview playback. I've also seen issues with UI lag in Blender, and heard scattered similar reports from other programs as well. Solution: turn ON Displays Have Separate Spaces under System Settings > Display and Dock > Mission Control. I personally experienced this with a new Mac Studio M2 Ultra, Apple Studio Display, and an LG DualUp display. No configuration of ports, HDMI, Thunderbolt, etc resolved the issue, but disconnecting either monitor did fix it. This led me to the Spaces fix, and I've since seen it corraborated by other users, and Adobe employee Jenkmeister

Tengo un problema con una composición a la que le aparece una capa de fondo que no está en esa composición (valga la redundancia), por ende no puedo ni borrarla ni hacer nada. Cuando exporta, sigue apareciendo justo cuando ya no hay contenido en pantalla. La misma se ve justo cuando no hay ningún elemento activado en la comp, ya sea que esté reproduciendo vista previa o no (incluso se ve si no hay nada, como se muestra en esta captura de pantalla).  Ya revisé si tenía el tímido activado y no estaba activa esa función, tampoco habían elementos en la composición con ese definidor activo. Incluso intenté eliminar del proyecto la capa que me da el error y sus copias, pero aún se seguía viendo. También vi que, si tengo alguna otra capa activa con contenido en pantalla (así sea un solo píxel), desaparece la que no se dejaba de ver. Ya intenté cerrando y abriendo el programa, además de probar con autosaves que no me habían dado antes ese error, pero también se sigue viendo.Tengo After Ef

Hi there,  I hope someone could help me out with an issue I am having with a rendered animation from after effects. I want to post an animation on Instagram but my phone wont read the H.264 video. I keep getting this message "sorry, this type of video cannot be saved to this device". What I am I doing wrong, what setting can I choose so that my iphone can play my video? 

In Advanced 3D, when I turn on an .exr to light/reflect, it looks weird and doesn't properly reflect the .exr

Hi everyone. I have this problem:I created several videos in AE and Premiere and I exported them with codec H264 in MP4 format. Then I sent them to my android phone (whatsapp, email and google drive). In my PC I can see them fine but in my android I can't. I sent those videos to some people, someone can see them but others can't. In my phone I can play every other MP4 file but i can't play MP4 files exported from AE and Premiere, using and not using Media Encoder. I try everythings and everything points that the problem is with the export.I hope someone could help me.RegardsFacundo 

hi guys anyone have any idea? I have this work file in AE,  the preview in the AE looks normal, but when i export it will become this.i have tried exporting in Premiere, Exporting with Media encorder, and direct render from AE, there is no helping, the same glitched video will be the result. the work file has once appeared a confliced copy in Dropbox folder somehow . i wonder if this is the reason? i have cleared the cached in AE , restarted the PC multiple times, the Softwares are all up to date.i cannot find any solution now. please help!

When I connect an external monitor via DisplayPort, I still can't get a preview. However, I am able to preview when using an HDMI cable.What steps should I follow to get a preview on my laptop without using any external monitor, or to get a preview after connecting an external monitor to my laptop via DisplayPort?I would appreciate your support regarding a solution to this issue.

Hey everyone, slight issue here. A client sent me their logo as a transparent PNG which I imported into illustrator and turned into a vector. I imported the vector into after effects to turn into a spinning logo.  After I imported this, I converted it to a shape layer but instead of being a shape layer all I got was a grey block and every time I attempt this with other logo files I keep getting a grey block and I don't know how to get the file as a shape. I assumed it was an issue with the display and exported it as normal thinking I'd see the full logo but I get is a rotating grey block. Anyone have any advice on how to get past this? Thank you!

  Every time I open the program, it gives me to choose "Do not allow" "Allow", I choose, but when I open it again, the same thing happens. I've already tried uninstalling and re-downloading the app, but nothing has changed.

Hello. I've been having memory assign problems for a few weeks now. Specifically when doing preview on frames i could receive like 5 warning windows about having to reserve different amounts of Memory RAM.Currently newest version of AE for Windows and have 64 GB installed and i've tried to reserve 58 for all Adobe Apps and main drive is a SSD but this does not solve the problem (computer has installed a GPU AMD RADEON 6700 XT as well but honestly i don't think the program is using it though it is detected by it). Also when opening most projects and checking on task manager After Effects would just rise memory usage up to 99% and get blocked or closed by error.Is there a way to reduce the memory requirement per frame when doing the preview? Could it be that there are effects present on these projects requiring insane amounts of memory? I've tried the beta version as well but haven't gotten any different results.I'll keep investigating on things to try and upload anything useful i f
