After Effects

The Camera Lens Blur effect that came with AE CS 5.5 and CS 6 doesn't look nearly as good as the old Lens Blur effect that came with CS 5; it's pretty much unusable for my purposes. Foreground elements that should be sharp render sharp, but with a blurry halo around them. The old Camera Lens blur does not exhibit this behavior, nor the Frischluft Depth of Field plugin.Here's an image showing the depth map and how the three plugins render it: CameraLensBlur.pngThe images are composited from 16-bit PNGs rendered out of Cinema 4D. There's a nasty halo visible around the foreground particle in the upper left in the CS6 Camera Lens Blur version. I saved the old Lens Blur effect as a preset out of a CS5 project and am, fortunately, still able to use that approach in CS6 since the "improved" version of the plugin looks pretty crummy (I skipped AE CS5.5). As a test I installed the demo of Frishluft's Lenscare plugins, and after inverting the depth buffer in the plugin I got a good result.The "

I've been having a major issue with After Effects since today with all types of files. Sometimes I can work, but often the program crashes abruptly. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it, and the update is fine. I have the Motion Bro plugin with the latest update... I don't know what else to do. Does anyone have a solution? I got a message once about a problem with the "fill" asset... but honestly, it doesn't change anything... Thanks for your help.

Hello, I'd appreciate any help with this... I have the most updated version of AfterEffects, but my video still renders as completely black no matter what I try! Here are my default settings: I've tried various things...Adding a solid layer, or rendering as losless (as mentioned here... https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects-discussions/video-turns-black-after-exporting/td-p/12568192) Nothing works! So I'm working on VFX in AE with some Clog2 footage shot with the Canon C70. I'm not the color corrector nor grader. How can I output my effects with the color as flat as the Clog2 footage but still retain the color information of the VFX? Right now I have colorful effects on flat video which is really going to mess with the color grader's job.

I noticed something: when I use a track matte on a layer and keep the mask I used, pixels remain around the effect where it connects with the mask. To remove these pixels, I have to use a choker, but only if the composition of these elements is separate. If it’s in a complex composition, then there’s nothing I can do. Hi guys, please tell me how to solve it. We have a shape with X Position and Y Position, the Y Position value is set via slider control. How to make Y Position change from 0 to this value, but only without keyframes in slider control?

.glb files often appear completely white in AE after previously having worked.  Opened a project today and the .glb 3d object that was fine yesterday now has no material. The same file DOES have a material in other apps, so it's AE failing.  I've had this problem before and restarting would fix it, but that's not helping now.  Me and my colleague are both having the same problem, with Windows and mac. AE version 24.4 Seriously can you just roll out features when they actually work? 

After effecs version 24.6 renders darker videos when linearize working color space is on when using 32 bit per channel in color project settings.The solution was to go back to the 24.5 version of After Effects. Older versions never gave me this problem before.

I have two projects set up as ACES 1.2 in both After Effects 23.6.9 and After Effects 24.6.1. When I import the  same ProRes Apple Log clip into each, I am able to override media color space in 23.6.9, but not 24.6.1. I would like to be able to override media color space in AE 24, but can't figure out why this isn't possible. I have noticed that AE 24 recognizes the media color space as Apple Log/Rec. 2020, but AE 23 doesn't recognize it. Perhaps that's related? I'm using a Mac Studio M2 Ultra, running Sonoma 14.6.1. I've attached a video showing both scenarios. Any advice on how to potentially work around this until it is resolved would be appreciated. Thanks!  

I am unable to adjust highlights properly in After Effects 24.6.1. with a ProRes Raw video file. I am working with a 2019 Mac Pro 3.3Ghz 12 core machine with 96GB Ram on OS 14.5 Sonoma. Note the attached screen captures.  Quicktime player shows all the detail in the highlights, though the look is flat.  In Premiere Pro the video looks hot, but I am able to recover highlights and make the shot look good.  In After Effects, I am unable to bring back the detail in the hightlights.   The reason I am using After Effects is to do some stabilization using motion tracking.  After stabilizing the shot in After Effects, I tried correcting the image, but given how bad the video looks, I can't use it. There are two images attached.  In the layout of the two images, Premiere Pro is in the top left, Quicktime player top right, file properties bottom left, and After Effects bottom right.  One screen capture shows the video corrected in Premiere P

Okay hi. So I've got two computers (both Macs) and I use a hard drive to carry my saved work, presets, transitions, etc from computer to computer. I installed S_BlurMoCurves (sapphire) on one computer and saved everything including the installers on the hard drive. This was a while back though so I can't remember exactly how I did it. I plugged it into the other computer and tried to download/install it there too, but it's not working. I install it, it says it's finished, and then I go into After Effects and I can't find it. Says it's "missing." Do I maybe need to do something with the installed plugin that I'm not? Is there a step missing? I for the life of me cannot remember how I did it last time and it's becoming more of a problem since my other computer is getting slower and crashing more often, so I need to start working more on this one that refuses to run the plugin. Can anyone help? 

Hi!I'm hoping someone can help me with this because it's driving me crazy... I did a really simple logo animation for a client that is to be used on some instructional videos going forward. It works just fine in the precomp and even the original composition that I created it in, but when I add the precomp to any other comp only part of the animation is showing up. Even if I copy all the layers and pasted them directly into the comp it's not working. Any ideas?(In case you need more details, I used the "generate > stroke" effect to have the outline of the letters draw in and then the solid fill fades in using the opacity. The only thing that's working is the fade in).

i tried Setting up the app for the first time and when the app tried to login through google it just keeps looping. i looked for help and it said check if the credentials are there and they arnt and then there was no more information?there are no credentials. so now what? i know the problem are they just going to not fix the problem?

Hi I'm trying to render ACES in C4d. Import into AE. Export in an HDR format I can use on Youtube. Goal is to have Youtube show the same as i see in the Redshift render.I'm almost there, but I can't figure out how to do the last step correctly. This is what I'm doing so far:I render in c4d in ACEScg 32bit openexr.In AE I interpret the rendered footage as "compositing_linear: ACES - ACEScg".I set project settings to:OCIO color managedACES 1.232 bitWorking color space: "compositing_linear: ACES - ACEScg".Display Color Space: "ACES/sRGB". If I now export an mp4 with colorspace set to "Color_picking: sRGB", it renders correctly. But of course not in HDR but 8bit sRGB. But at least it seems like I'm doing something right. My question is: What do I need to do to export this correctly to Youtube as HDR?I have tried to set the display color space to "ACES/Rec.2020 HLG 1000nits" and then render using AME as "Apple Prores 4444 HLG". But the colors became alot darker.I al

Hey there guys, any idea how to get this kinda effect done in AE? I can request some LED lights in the live action footage to use as reference. Can also use C4D, but was just wondering if you guys think this would be possible all in AE.

Schon wieder einmal wird automatisch was in AE geändert obwohl ich die automatischen Updates aus habe.Wieder ährend eines Projektes.Alles wird zurück gesetzt. Schriftarten werden nicht mehr erkannt.Einige Plugins funktionieren auf einmal nicht mehr... Wie kriege ich das wirklioch aus geschaltet. jedes mal während einer Produktion ist das wirklich die Hölle sich dann wieder mit dem Programm rumzuschlagen.

Hi, I have applied a Shatter effect to some text, when I scrub alone the timeline my 1st Mac crashes. When I render the project in Media Encoder it freezes just before the effect and does not finish. I opened on a second Mac and the same thing happened. On crashing and opening again it asks if I want to disable the shatter effect. If I open the project on my PC, I can scrub along the timeline and also render, with no issues. I have listed the computer specs below: 1st MAC  / Mac Studio (2022) / Apple M1 Ultra / 128gb running Monterey v12.6.1 2nd MAC / IMac Pro (2017) 2.3gh 18-core intel Xeon W / 64gb / Radeon Pro Vega 56 8gb / Monterey 12.5.1 PC / AMD 5950x / 3080ti graphics / 64gb / windows 11 Any help to resolve the MAC issues would be great, as that is my work computer in my office. The PC is a personal computer. BrendonF 

Under my window panel, I have something called MFColorPicker, and I have no idea what it is, but it instantly crashes my Aftereffects if it is clicked. I've tried searching for it, and can't find any related info, any help would be great. Thank you.
