After Effects

Hello, this is something that happenes to me every once in a while and I have no idea why. As shown below, my speed graph just becomes really high for some reason and it's gets a bit annoying to edit this way since I can't see the whole graph properly. I'm not doing anything different with my keyframes so I have no idea what's causing this. I'd love to know if there's a way to fix it, or at least understand what's causing this. Thank you. 

hi I am new to after effects and i have a problem every time I set the frame rate to 60the video starts to be slow and at some point its just repet it self without playing the full video ( sorry for my bad en )   Title edited by Mod.

I want to make a file selector like this, but i don't find any suite func doing with it.is that "PF_OutFlag_I_DO_DIALOG"  related?Any starting point to achieve this goal will be appreciate.

Hi,The issue I am having is not a problem with expressions, but I wanted to see if one could help solve it.I use the VCP plugin, Saber, on a mogrt that I share with video editors. Saber allows me to have a tapered draw-on text effect, based on a selected text layer, without having to bake anything down (Ie convert text to shape layers). This is perfect for the mogrt workflow, as I can create a dynamic animation that draws-on, and the editor can change the text and it updates.Recently on a project, there was an issue where the MOGRT using Saber appeared to make everything off-centre in Premiere (Although in rendered from AME correctly). I shared a post about this too. This caused some frustration and concern about the MOGRT workflow, and I wanted to get to the bottom of why Saber was doing that. But also wanted to see if there was an alternative way to achieve the draw-on effect, but still give the artist the same control over the text in the template. If you have any ideas, I

Hallo Zusammen,ab sofort möchte ich viele neue Videos erstellen, wo ich am Klavier zu sehen bin. D. h. ich spiele Klavier,meine Hände bewegen sich ständig, manches Mal überkreuzen sie sich auch. Ich habe hierzu als Hintergrund einen Greenscreen verwendet, da ich als Hintergrund zukünftig Fotografien einbauen möchte.Außerdem sind meine ersten zwei Videos etwas zu klein geworden, bzw. der Ausschnitt, wo der Hintergrund - später das Foto - zu sehen ist, ist zu klein.Siehe Anhang.Nun meine Frage:A) kann ich mich ( man sieht nur ein Stück von meinem Oberkörper und meine Hände ) und das Klavier freistellen und ohne Probleme einen neuen Hintergrund einbauen?B) ist es möglich, mein Video nach oben und zu linken Seite etwas zu verlängern, so dass der Hintergrund besser zu sehen ist?Ich würde mich sehr über Tipps und Hilfe freuen.Vielen Dank im Voraus.Gruß Angela

I used Saber effect for my Black png logo. I changed the Composite settings of the saber effect to Transparent, So I could see the white White background. I wanted the Glow color to Black. But I don't see the effect when I change the colour to black. I could see other colours not the black colour. Someone please help me since I am new to this. Appreciate in advance. here posted both screenshot with black and  blue glow colour effect. Please guide me.

I need to create a text based presentation, my issue is the template I'm using wont allow me to change the color of single letters, only the entire word. I was able to click into the text and it was easy to change individual letters but when I got back to the comp the text color change had not applied. So im guessing I can only change the text in the comp, but this template only gives me the option to change the color for the whole word. I cant add in another fill that allows me to make only the first letter blue. Why is this so hard to do? this seems like it would be simple to change.As you can see here I want only the first letter to be blue:When I go back to the comp its now back to white

Hey Guys, I have the source text of a layer referencing the comp name. I'd to edit the comp name and it update on the text layer. This is my code. compName = comp("Liam Carlin").name.replace(/a/gi,"a"); However I am not trying to replace the letter a with the same letter a I wasnt to replace it with a different glyph version of that font family. Is it possible? I am unable to paste the correct glyph letter into the expression editor as it just see it as the letter 'a'. ThanksLiam 

While editing my comp, my transform handles just randomly disappeared! I've tried the following:- The column for switches are on, as noted here- I've tried ctrl +shift + h as noted here, no effect I'm using After Effects 24 on a Mac. What else could it be?

I can't import my PSD file because of this error. I downloaded QuickTime, but it didn't work. What is a good alternative to solving this? 

Hi, reinstalled my iMac and Cloud app doesn't offer older versions anymore of After Effects, Media Encoder, Premiere. I have 27" iMac 2013 and macOS Catalina that still works like a charm. Except this annyoing Adobe service, that older versions of apps are not accesible. Please provide me direct download links to After Effects, Media Encoder, Premiere 2022.This is URGENT!

Hi Everyone !when you drag a new video clip to your timeline, how can you automatically trim the timelineto the exact *end* of that clip ?   I'm not talking about sliding the end point to the end of clip manually and clicking "n" on your keyboard.  I wonder if there is an automatic / more accurate way of doing this.Thanks for your help !

whenever i apply the "shake sauce" effect to any video clip, the clip randomly mirrors as shown in the attached image. i have already-uninstalled and reinstalled-quit after effects and premiere pro- i have the latest version of everythingetcive used shake sauce before and it worked but this isnt the first time this mirror look has happened and im very lost. also im using premiere pro and replacing with after effects comp. does anyone know what else i can attempt? 

So, First of all this is very dissapointing from a subscribers point of view, I pay monthly and for what, to have a sudden clitch which is just halting my work. I've been workin 2 weeks on this project and it all worked fine, just one moment suddenly, this very composition went black and doesnt preview anything. I did try other things, such as clearing the cache and copying all files to other comps, none works. It is not black on other compositions with similiar complexicity. I am using AE 2024, just a comp with 3D layers and one Camera. it was working fine and suddenly turned black. maybe anyone has a solution? PS this is dissapointing... I did not pay to write esseys on forums, I payed so my software runs normally.

Imac 5K 2019 Mac OS Ventura 13.5Trying to import a Quicktime .MOV in Apple ProRes4444 with alpha generated out of Rotato and receiving following error messages in AE:"Encountered errors while importing selected items.1) After Effects error: Could not open source file. Please check that file exists with correct permissions2) After Effects error: file '___.mov' cannot be imported - this 'Moov' file is damaged or unsupported." I have tried clearing cache. I checked the permissions. The file is not damaged (opens in Quicktime and VLC). And this type of file in same codec exported from the same Rotato software was importing with no errors within this same project a week ago. Also other Apple ProRes 4444 .movs (but with no transparency layer) exported from Rotato are still importing fine into AE. 

I am working on this very heavy project with Adobe Character Animator linked files (but all ghosted because I am using rendered versions), lots of layers, lots of time remapping. Big (more than 4K screen recording video's). after effect error; Cached preview needs 2 or more frames to playback.I'll be honest, my MacPro is old (2013), 3GHZ 8-core intel Xeon E5, 32 GB 1866 mhz DDR3 with an AMD Fire Pro D500 3GB graphics card. If I make a whole new project, things are fine. But opening this one, no playback possible. What could be the problem?

Hi everybody! I'm looking for using an expression to change the style of my font but gradually like how we can do with position, opacity etc... on the text animations provides by After Effects.I'd like to have different font styles for a sentence. And use a Slider to change the style of the characters of this sentence gradually.I created a text layer with multiple letters. Each letter got its own style.Then, I create another text layer with my sentence. I created a slider effect on this text layer and put this expression in the source text panel:thisComp.layer("TextStyle").text.sourceText.getStyleAt(effect("Typo")("Slider"));When I move my slider, all the sentence change its style! Perfect. But now, I'd like to have this change gradually, maybe on 2-3 letters to have something smoother etc... But what I have to add to this expression to manage it correctly??? Thank You in advance for your science!!! PS: Im' french 😉

Good day! There is a constant problem with after effects. With the project open, if I minimize the program or open some folder, everything freezes. A black screen then appears and the program must be closed and reopened. 

Hi, I've been making a heap of stinger transitions for content creators and I've run into an issue.I can't get rid of this small black line around where the stinger animation ends, and the new scene begins to show, as you can see here.  From what I understand it's a transparency line where the 'cut out' starts/ends - but is there any way to close this gap? Blur or choking doesn't do the trick, nor does pre-composing the animations. I've made the entire thing in AE.  Happy to share more info? Thanks!

Looking for help!  Currently running After Effects (17.1.3) on a 2019 iMac.  In a comp of mine dynamically linked to Premiere Pro, I have a photo parented to a solid rectangle that is supposed to quickly enter the frame from below, slow to a crawl (still moving straight upward) for two seconds, and then quickly accelerate (upward) again to exit the frame.  The keyframe that separates the quick entrance from the beginning of the crawl (We'll call this Point A) is set to 'Easy Ease In' and the keyframe after it that separates the crawl from the quick exit (We'll call this Point B) is set to 'Easy Ease Out.'  For some reason during the slow crawl, rather than travel directly from Point A to Point B at a constant speed, the photo/rectangle leaves Point A, backtracks (reverses) suddenly for an instant, and then continues forth again toward Point B.  Between the keyframes (Point A and Point B) on the graph, accurately mirroring this, the objects' y-coordinate rises l

So i'm working on a script with AI help and i managed to make this script work as a dockable ui panel.What this script does it retrieves the path points and its tangents position value in comp space and layer space.You select the path, select an option from the checkboxes which value you want to get and you hit the "Get Path" button. Greetings. I need technical support! I encountered error 0xc0000142 in after effects and media encoder. It all started after changing the video card from RX 5700 xt to geforce 3060. I tried many different ways to resolve this error that are recommended on the Internet, but nothing worked. Run as administrator, run in compatibility mode, run after a clean boot of windows, scan system files via the command line, re-register windows dll files, check disk, update all drivers to the latest version, update directix, update visual c++, enable net framework 3.5, Updating the net framework, reinstalling programs that generate errors and reinstalling the operating system did not give any result. Perhaps someone has already encountered a similar problem and knows how to solve it.
