After Effects

HiI would like to try out the demo solution called Commando. It doesn't come with a solution project for windows, only mac. What would be the best way to set that up manually in VS2023?I have tried this:1. Start with Artie first and veryfied that it works.2. Replaced the content of Artie.cpp with the content of Commando.cpp.3. Replaced the content of Artie_PIPL.r with the content of Commando_PIPL.r4. Added Commando_Strings.cpp, Commando.h and Commando_Strings.h to the solution. That doesn't work. When I build I get the following error:"Severity Code Description Project File Line Suppression StateError C2338 static_assert failed: 'Windows headers require the default packing option. Changing this can lead to memory corruption. This diagnostic can be disabled by building with WINDOWS_IGNORE_PACKING_MISMATCH defined.' Artie C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\10\Include\10.0.19041.0\um\winnt.h 2496"  Any help is greatly appreciated. - Jakob

Since updating to 24.02 AE is crashing my whole machine ALL THE TIME.

Getting that controlled conversion required error Cineware. The problem is I've gone back to AE 24.0.3 to open some projects which weren't opening before. But now a project that was made in 24.1 will not open! I can't keep updating and then downgrading everytime I open some AE projects in version 24... this is crazy and totally unacceptable way for me to manage my time. I need a work around asap. Hello all I'm a designer/artworker who has enjoyed learning After Effects. Will not see myself as solely a motion designer but think I can offer services as animating logos and producing simple explainer videos. I am looking to post my AE work on my portfolio site. I am not sure how I display my animations. Would you suggest a play arrow which can play and freeze my animation?? Be really good if anyone has any links as to how I can display my work. Many thanks in advance for your time and expertise. RegardsSean

My solid layer mysteriously disappears from the canvas after I click "Apply Export" in Mocha AE. The first picture shows my composition with the layer visible, and the second picture displays it missing after export. Can anyone help me figure out why this is happening and what I can do to fix it?  

Hello there,  I was wondering if this already excists as a plug-in or if Adobe could make this happen in the future. The way audio editting from after effects towards audition works right now, for me is really annoying. For example, when I import a after effects file, all the audio files in the comp are combined to 1 layer. But I want them to be seperate, always, so I can have full controll over the cuts.  Is there a way, or could there be a way in the future that we could have like a audition timeline, whithin compositions inside after effects it self, that we could edit audio, and animate at the same time? So it's more like premiere I suppose, but for me it's way easier to work with. The audio layers should be sepearte from the video layers so to speak. But we are able to fix all little things we want to fix within after effects. What do you think about this potential solution? Or does such things already excist?  Cheers, Daan 

Hi, another flustrating day in AE. My PC went down and got frozen so I have to kill windows and restart PC which caused breaking AE, all settngs gone, all custom workspace I spent a lot of time to polish it and now I even can't load it from somewhere. Is there some trick to export import settings that I don't have to do that everythime if I install fresh Windows and can easily import with one click?Adobe sync is pretty unreliable.Yesterday I have spent 2 hours on chat. 2 HOURS! With no results what so ever, transfering me between many agents that was a nightmare.  You simply can't have a day without any issue with Adobe. Very appreciate. Thanks.  

Hi Adobe developer ; I met a problem recently, when I use your AE client to edit any video file, it may have no sound out put when I just change the performance mode of my computer, and I'm sure it only happened when I use AE client, so do you have any known issue like this? Please help to share it to me, or you can fix this issue in next version? Thanks!

Pressing C just cycles through "orbit around cursor", "pan under cursor" and "dolly towards cursor" the camera tools do not show up anywhere and I can't find any answers to this problem anywhere

Hey guys, can't open my After Effects project. I imported some PSD files into After Effects and now I can't get into project when I re-open project. After Effects (2020) V17.0.4iMac - Catalina 10.15.3Photoshop version 21.1.0 Getting the below message when opening my AE file. 'The photoshop library operation failed because the file is not compatible with this version of Photoshop.'  Anyone had a similiar experience with the latest update???Cheers

Thanks to whoever FINALLY fixed the "fit to 100%" shortcut not working.It took almost like 3 f***ing years to fix this.Whoewer fixed this should get a raise.This guy is probably the only adobe employe who actually uses and tests their software.THANK YOU!!

Key Preview (Numpad) stops working as a preview shortcut.For unknown reasons it switches to work as a shortcut for:"Toggle Mask and Shape Path Visibility".It takes restarting After Effects to bring back Numpad 0 to it's default shortcut function.

Does someone know how to apply a impact shake preset on multiple clips at the same time but all the key frames will immediately align to the beginning of the clips? Otherwise I need to manually drag all the keyframes to the beginning of the clip for each layer.

I've been using AE on a Mac for over 10 years, so this Windows error is new to me.  I removed the plug-in which gets rid of the error, but in the off-chance that I actually need this plug-in, I'm just wondering if anybody knows how to reinstall this or get this working?I've installed it on a Windows 2008 Server, which throws the error on AE CS6 startup and 9 render nodes with Windows 7--all of which throw the error in the terminal window when running aerender.exe.  The render nodes are specifically to render AE and C4D projects only, so I haven't installed anything beyond the OS, Quicktime and what's needed for those two programs to render.

Esto me sucedió cuando quise instalar una versión anterior para comprobar si me funcionaba con el deadline.Ahora soy incapaz de solucionar el error y no puedo iniciar usuario ya que no aparece la opción, por mucho que lo instalé con el cloud.

I'm unable to add or drag anything into my time line. I've tried with a brand new project: I created a new project, created 2 comps in that project and one solid layer. I then tried to drag and drop into my timeline but wasn't able to and I could see that the icon next to my curser was a circle with a line through it. I can't work with this issue. I'm dead in the water until there is a solution.  Also, this is not and issue with me trying to drag say comp 1 back into comp 1.

I've got what may be a common question, but I couldn't find an answer so I thought it was worth asking.Short version: I've got a 2D background that I want to shift as a 3D camera moves.I know one way to do it is just map the texture (in this case, a starfield) onto an Environment layer and call it a day, but that's more memory-intensive than I want to make it; what I'd like to do instead is make the background tileable, and then as the camera moves, have AfterEffects adjust an Offset effect (or some other method) accordingly, so it appears that the background is moving even if it isn't.Is this kind of thing possible?EDIT: okay so using an environment layer WON'T work, it used to be you could have an environment layer visible as a background layer, but now apparently that option's gone.

i was supposed to render my project it was half way done then an error popped up then another one popped upit also crashed because of the effect "S_Tilescramble"

Hey all! So I want to add all Adobe fonts to my creative cloud however it seems there is only adding one by one, which is sooo painful and time consuming. Does anyone know if there is an option to add all fonts rather than having to go through over 3800 fonts? Cheers, Joe

Is there a way to update some parameters name during computation in the rendering thread? The warp stabilizer seems to do this but I cannot find a way to trigger UI redraw from the render thread. Thanks for any help!

Hallo,ich habe ein kleines Problem.Ich habe ein Büro als Hintergrundbild, auf diesem lasse ich 7 Logos mit Saber im Neonlook erscheinen und wieder verschwinden.Teilweise klappt es auch.Das erste Logo lasse ich bei 2 Sek. - 8 Sek. aufbauen, dann wird es für 6 Sek. ganz eingeblendet und von 14 Sek. - 20 Sek. langsam wieder ausgeblendet. Das ganze mache ich mit allen Logos im 3 Sek. Versatz.Bis zum 4. Logo klappt es, das ganze Video ist 30 Sek. lang. bei dem 4. Logo ist somit bei 29 Sek. Schluss.Logo 5 würde somit bei 26 Sek. beginnen und wieder bis 2 Sek. am Anfang laufen.Aber das klappt bei mir nicht so richtig?Angelegt habe ich alles über Start Offset und End Offset.Noch Jemand einen Tipp für mich? GrußCapelle  

I already have Crucial MX500 1TB for cache. Does it make sense to replace it with nvme for improving perfomance? I saw one old article from 2017 that the difference could be 5-20%. Has the situation changed somehow now?
