After Effects

Hi, I'm brand new to After Effects and I'm trying to clone stamp a small section of a large video. Once I apply clone stamp, it stays for remainder of video. How do I clone stamp only a small section of the video and then turn it off?

AE crashes when adding extra points to an already-created Roto Bezier shape when at 800% zoom level. The crash usually occurs after adding 2 or more additional points using the CMND+OPTION+Click shortcut.ver 2023.2.1.  Mac OS. Monterey 12.5.1Expected result: New point added to an existing mask shape.Result: AE crashes. App automatically quits. 

Helloo, I'm a regular middle schooler who happened to have a chemistry presentation next week. I wanted to make a quick animation on after effects and bring it onto my school ipad through google drive so I can imput in into my presentation. The problem is: I cannot make the background transparent and I've tried every tutorial I could find! Through After Effects, via Media Encoder, etc. It may be due to my lack of knoledge of basics in Adobe programs (since I only animate as a hobby) so if you have any advice, please tell me. If there's any information you need, feel free to ask me. As you can see I'm really desprate right now... sorry, english is my 3rd language.

Why does exporting using AfterEffects' render queue use so much memory?When exporting via AME, memory is properly freed, but when using Ae's render queue, memory is used inexhaustibly, as it is during preview playback.This is undesirable behavior.My guess is that the frames are stored in memory, just as they are during preview playback.However, since the user opens the exported file, there is no need for the frames to remain in memory.Why is this designed this way?Are there any plans to improve it?

The Element 3d tab is not showing any preview and I noticed that my AE is using the “Intel UHD Graphics” instead of my dedicated graphics card. Any ideas how to fix this?   

I need to change my preferences inside After Effects and Premiere Pro, but for some reason the screen freezes indefinitely and I have to force quit it. My PC is a Windows 10 machine. I have tried this on:Adobe Premiere V 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021Adobe After Effects V 2024, 2023, 2022The same behavior is present in all of those versions. Media Encoder does not have this glitch though. I have no idea how to fix this glitch, I have searched through multiple forums/discussions and so far none of them have helped me fixed it. The following is what I have tried so far: Uninstall/reinstall applicationTry other versionsDeleted cache and old preference filesReset preferences/settings to defaultUpdated Graphics CardUpdated MSI MotherboardChanged Audio hardwareI genuinely have no idea why this bug is present. Unfortunately I have yet to find a solution to this problem.

Version 2023 and 2024Mac OS Sonoma 14.4.1 I noticed a weird bug in After Effects where it’s impossible to change the type/character RGB value (or corresponding hexcode) by a single point. Doesn’t seem to be an issue for effects such as fill, just the type color you'd find in the Character Window. For example, I set up type at 241/101/51, and if I try to switch it to 240/101/51, it just switches right back.I think a workaround is to do a more significant change first, then punch in the correct number, but just wanted to point out this bug.

I have tried to reinstall AME and AE, but still the Queue in Ame is greyed out. I can go to file export to AME and it sends the file over, but the button in the render que is still inactive. Is there a way to fix this?

Can I remove layer(s) from multiple comps at once? Script maybe, acts on the selected layer(s) name(s)

Hi, How to adjust one layer settings for multiple compositions at the same time.I have a layer that I use in several compositions. I would like to find a quicker way than go through all compositions to change the layer settings. Is there a script for this?For example:Can the layer setting "mode" be adjusted from "normal" to "color" in multiple compositions at the same time?This would really help me.Anybody have an idea? Kind regards

Fonts not changing in essential graphics, Specially with older files,We need to re-apply the expression or re-link the path.Adobe please look into it.

Quando importo um vídeo no formato MP4 para o After Effects a imagem não aparece, somente o áudio é importado.  Obs: Isso só aparece com aruquivos novos, arquivos antigos que já estávam no computador, funcionam normalmente.

Hi all,Pulling my hair out as latest After Effects and Premier are crashing the latest Ventura. I'm running a 2019 Mac Pro. Issue happens on rendering or exporting. In Premier after the latest updates the Export function doesn't work. In After effects, it crashes on pre render auto save or just after a render is attempted. Causes Finder to cease working. Any ideas/fixes would be welcome. Have tried trashing preferences. All Adobe 2022 are running fine with no issues.thanks,Steve

Hi everyone!I recently had a new PC built with the following specs:- i9-14 processor- Asus Z790 ProArt Creator motherboard- 128 GB RAM DDR5 5600 MHz- plenty of SSD NVMe storage- NVidia RTX 4080 Founders Edition GPU- Windows 11 OS- All adobe apps clean installed today After installing Adobe apps, I was shocked to learn that despite having all the bios, firmware and system drivers up to date, Media Encoder keeps causing BSODs of varying error codes when I try to render out my clips.Could you please advise me on how to proceed? Here is the most recent BSOD. UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP (7f)I have attached a text file of the WinDbg analysis of the minidump file. I managed to render out one clip today (completely un-edited, no effects) after trying twice. The first time, Media Encoder simply turned off at about 70% progress. I am unable to view the values of the properties that I would like to edit, but I can see these properties in the 'layer transform' and the 'audio' panels. Is there any way I can restore it to view the properties besides the timeline? Thank you! 

After changing my RAM (32Gbs) for 2 sticks of the exact same model and using After Effects, even when the memory other apps were allowed to use was over 10Gbs and they were barely using 3Gbs, After Effects just kept using more and more memory until it couldn't anymore and failed to allocate any more memory, the only way I am able to continuously work on a project is by constantly freeing up memory using MSI center's tools.I doubt it is a problem with my memory, but I can never be too sure, is there any way to fix this?SpecificationsWindows 11 Version 23H2 (0S Build 22631.3672)After Effects (244.1)CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D 8-Core ProcessorMotherboard: MPG B550 GAMING PLUS (MS-7C56)GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2x16GbThe problem occurs on any project I work on.The expected behaviour is for After Effects to not keep filling up my memory without getting rid of unused memory.

Es geht dabei um Bewegung stabilisieren (funktioniert wunderbar), skalieren verschieben; alles kein Problem.Im Anschluss wende ich die Verkrümmngsstabilisierung VFX an. Es erscheint ganz normal der blaue Balken (Analysieren im Hintergrund (Schritt 1 von 2). Dieser Balken bleibt aber ewig stehen, und nach ca. 5 Minuten kommt die Fehlermeldung "Zeitüberschreitung bei der Verbindung mit Dynamic Link-Server" Ich habe keine Ahnung wo ein Fehler liegen soll. Hi! When I activate the collapse transformation button on the composition, 3D does not work. Unfortunately, when I deactivate the collapse transformation button to make 3D work, all the effects/blending modes used in the composition stop working. What should I do? I have too many layers to put them all into one composition.

Seems latest build is causing me issues with effects panel not opening up when layer selected that has an effect appied, and also clicking on a layer, seeing the effect show up, and it's not the right effect for that layer but is showing effect from another comp and when clicking on it goes to that comp. Anyone else having issues with effects panel?

Hi,I made a mac update not so long ago. And now I can't use After Effects anymore. I get a strange red screen (please see screenshot below) and if I drag an image into the scene, I can't see it. I read online that it's a bug, after doing a mac update. And apparently, it can be fixed with Adobe updates. So I went into 'Help', 'Updates', but it does not offer an update for After Effects. I did already clear the caches. So how do I fix this?I would appreciate any help, I really need to use After Effects
