After Effects

Every time I use AE, the Transfer Controsls pane is always too small, so that the Mode and Track Matte drop down menus are not fully legible. When I drag the divider right to expand it, it suddenly snaps to its minimum size. From there I can continue to drag the divider right or left to make the Transfer Controls pane larger or smaller, but I can no longer drag it left past its minimum size to where it its too small to be legible as it was intitially. I've included a screen recording to illustrate the issue I'm experiencing:https://vimeo.com/857931461 

So I have yet another issue with AE. This time, when I go to purge memory and disc cache, AE is NOT releasing the RAM. I trying to purge, then re-preview and it only previews acouple of frames. I check memory stats and its showing 56gb of RAM being utilized. When I shut the software down and relaunch, the ram is freed. But this happens every couple of minutues making it impossible for me to animate. I am only building a basic particle animation with trapcode form, it isnt anything overly complex. My computer is a new Dell XPS15 with a i913900H 64gb of RAM and a RTX 4070

Please can Adobe fix the shortcut for Fit to View on Mac. I've been using Windows and AE for many years and am making a shift to Mac. This problem doesn't exist on Windows.It doesn't matter which keyboard shortcut I use, the function doesn't work.

 Hi ever since I updated to the latest update my after effects have been really slow. Any action I do do like simple ones like nudging text going to one comp to another it always go to the circle of death loading. I keep getting the zero denominator error as well. I have restarted, reinstalled, purge media cache and even work at quarter the resolution. hope you can help it was just with the recent update and haven't come across this issue before. One of my colleagues is having the same problem he said that ae is using too much memory. 

I've been having problems with this for months if not years by now.Audio would often playback correctly the second time around I'd play it back but now that I got a new computer it is even worse.Audio is offset somehow and will correct or just continue to play back wrong after "correcting" or deciding to un-correct after a second or so.I know the audio says "sounds good, right" but I will hear "sounds good" or "sounds goht".It makes it kinda hard to synchronise animation with the audio. Actually it makes it kinda impossible.I'll attach an image with the recorded audio from a screen capture in red. You will see that they obviously do not match.  

I'm running the latest version of AE and it is hugely frustrating. Here's an example of what I mean.I'm working on an animation using Joysticks and Sliders, Duik. It's a fairly heavy project but manageable and I have a very good PC running it. I'm currently lip-syncing and if I move or add a VO (Audio-only) layer the whole thing has to RAM preview over and over and over with every little adjustment. I have made hundreds of videos like this and have never experienced this before. Usually, you are free to make changes to comps within the master comp and only the comp you have altered (visually) would need to re-ram preview (obviously) but the rest of the master comp would keep the ram-previewed comps for playback. What is going on? The amount of extra time I have to wait is unacceptable. Is this a deliberate change or yet another bug? If it's deliberate, would you mind explaining the thinking behind this? nonsense?

Hi Everybody, I'm interested in doing a color wavey lines effect like the image attached. However, for this I can't afford to purchase something like Volna for the project and really need the effect options to be native. Does anybody know of any tutorial or methods natively to approach something like this? 

Latest version (v22.6) on Windows 10 (OS build 19044.2006) is suddenly showing the attached error message when I try and import an AEP into the current AEP. Those AEPs were all created in the same AE installation on the same computer, and open fine in AE on their own. Only on import do they cause issues.  The import does go ahead, but then throws out the positioning on layers in other previously imported (and previously fine) AEPs/Compositions.For example a previous import of a character (made up of arm layer, leg layer, etc) rowing in a boat, those animated layers now appear spread out in the wrong positions in the composition. No idea why, have had to roll back to previous AE installation which seemto work.  

I have had this issue randomly, before, but intermittently in the past, and a software restart seemed to resolve it. I figured it was one of my plug-ins acting up, and that I would address it during some downtime in the next few months. Today it has reared its ugly head in two different massive projects. and now carries over into even new ones. When I go to enter characters of any kind in the timeline— a layer name, a value, an expression, anything— after a random amount of time between .5 and 2 seconds, the program will behave as if I have clicked off of the input, preventing me from making further changes. It's completely debilitating. I have tried disconnecting from my peripherals and trying other units. I have also reinstalled After Effects, removed every plug-in and script, and started new projects in safe mode. STILL the issue persists. I have tried everything. It won't stop doing it. I cannot find the issue in any other piece of software, including other Adobe software

Hi guys dont know if you could help, ive tried following instructions regarding resetting after effects preferences. But none of it works. It still crashes whenever i freeze the roto-scope and displays and error message: (please view attachment )    

every time I import a video the audio is a few seconds ahead. I open the mp4 and it's fine, but once I try to edit it with after effects the audio is wrong and I don't know how to fix it. this has never happened until now and I'm not sure what caused it.

Hey! I've been experiencing some lagging in the preview and in the export of my animation with strokes. It's like the ease of animation curves causing lag, regardless of  FPS. In the end of the stroke animation, some lags and bumps appear.I tried change the framerate, to 15, to 60, to 120 and nothing changes.  

I cannot any open project. Need to know why always crash when start the after effect

Running the Apple M2 MaxAfter Effects Version 23.6.0Trying to export a clip with/ Lumetri color crashes or fails every time.  When restarting AE there is a prompt suggesting Lumetri Color is what crashed and to disable the effect. I have coloring nested into a few spots and need to export from AE otherwise would bring it into premiere. Have tested 3 older versions of AE and AME but nothing seems to work.  

i have latest versions of both the software I tried exporting for cinema4d error message ---------------------After Effects: AEGP Plugin Maxon Cinema 4D Exporter...: Code (PF_Err_OUT_OF_MEMORY): Key track insert PLA memory error. Code (PF Err_OUT OF MEMORY): Export/Merge failed. Out of memory in animation allocation. 

Hi,This bug has hindered my video editing progress. It says I have Color Balance HSL missing. When I go to effects, it's under the Missing tab, not under the Obsolete tab.  Does anyone know how to fix this?  I appreciate all the help and feedback. Thank you so much!

I can't seem to select layers using the click/drag method and selection tool. Usually you can darg the selection tool and select multiple layers. Now it won't select anything unless some property is already open. Here's a video.Using latest AE version and Windows 11

Hi, i remember i could always change the prefs file txt way back then. This seems to no not work anymore in 2024. Changes get overwritten on starting AE.Anyone has an idea?  I would like to change the "Number of Project Menu Entries" = "20" to "50" It annoying that this is limited! 

I am relatively new to producing videos and would like to know how other people merge their video and audio into a file that YouTube will accept, and my clients can play themselves?With the method I've been using (below), the audio cannot be AAC, which means they don't play on Apple devices. Right now I have a client urgently wanting to see her video, but I can't find any way to show it to her because she uses Apple devices.Here's how I am going about merging my audio and video - please tell me if you know a better way!1. In Adobe Media Encoder, render the video as h.2642. In Premiere Pro, output a WAV using the "Waveform Audio" setting (can't find any way to do this in AMC).3. Go into my audio workstation, import the WAV file (containing the dialog and sound effects), begin working on my soundtrack. (I'm a musician.)4. Arrange, mix, and master the soundtrack and dialog.5. Hello. I am having a hard time moving the anchor point of my audio amplitude. Every video I have found online with this effect they have their text centered and do not explain how to move the anchor point. In my case, I have two logos that are centered vertically but are both on the left side of the comp, so when the scale changes it shrinks/grows from the right instead of centered on itself. I now realize as I'm typing this I will likely need to duplicate my Audio Amplitude layer in order to center both on each respective logo, but again I would be having the same issue.  I first tried moving the anchor points of each logo, and then moving the anchor point of the Audio Amplitude layer, all of which done through the transform dropdown but nothing is working. I only started using AE last week so could be very off in my method but am looking for some help.Thank you

I know you couldn't do it before but maybe in 2024 there's a way? I want to have a 75% zoom on the playback windows, because 25% is to small to watch it but 50% is zoomed in my composition so I keep having to go and manual put it on ajust mode than zoom out everytime I have to make something go out of the screen, and put it back on ajust when I want to playback.

Hi,Every time I open adobe after effects 2020, or send a video to adobe media encoder 2020, I get an annoying white window that pops up. It briefly says "Loading plans and pricing", but then it's just blank white. When it comes to the media encoder, my video does not appear inside the encoder until I've closed the window, so I can't just ignore it. I have to close it every single time in order to use the programs. My payment information is all up to date and I haven't tried to change my plan in eons, so not sure why this window keeps pestering me. How do I stop this from happening?
