After Effects

Hello allI have just bought Creative Suite and After Effects will not download (I have Mac OS Catalina, Macbook Pro 2018). Other than buy a new MacBook, is there any advice out there?I'm not sure if I have to upgrade OS to Monterey (bear with me, I'm a bit behind on the tech here!)Or can an older version of After Effects be downloaded to use?It seems to be V24.0 that won't run - no problems really, I'm happy to use an older version.THANKYOU ALL!Stephen

I have a weird issue. When I go and render my video with a text layer with a blue color, it appears blurry in the final video. But when I change the color to green, it looks completely sharp. I don't change the render settings, anything. How come this happens?

I keep getting this error (files exist but couldn't be open for reading) when I work with my hard disk, I don't want to keep all the files related my work in my computer because they take up too much storage. But I can't use some of the files when I do that (some of them can be open) What should I do? This error appeared from time to time but after the latest mac sonoma update it gone worse 😞

I'm developing an AE plugin that supports face detection.I want to get each raw video frame in the order in which it is decoded. It can helps me design the cache and improve the detection efficiency.But I don't find any suite handle works on it. The only ways to checkout frame is in "PF_Cmd_SMART_RENDER", but it is called no in decoded order.Thanks for reading hope you can help me out. Any starting point to achieve this goal will be appreciate.

I have this bug in After Effects on my work computer. When I preview render, AE often freezes all other applications so I cannot use them. And it doesn't unfreeze them until I log-out and login again with my computer. Just quiting After Effects does not work. Had this exact problem on my own private PC when using After Effects. That computer has 64 GB RAM, thought it would solve the problem having more RAM. My work computer has 128 GB. Now with the AE Beta, that is supporting multi-CPU rendering, my other software does not freeze, but instead, render preview does not always work. I can click. See. Click. See. Frustrating. Help!?

I'm trying to follow this logo reveal tutorial that makes use of the Vegas effect.With every duplicated layer, the lines from previous layers will just fade and fade, and by the time I get to the 5th layer the first layer is barely visible. The effect in the top layer is still fine-ish, but since the bottom layers got faded out, the effect is ruined.If I delete the top layers (not just hide, but deleted altogether), the lines will come back. If I put the deleted layers back, the lines fade out again.Is it the RAM? Some other setting? I created a text reveal in Particular (in a few nested comps) within my main composition. The Master comp is a 4 minute long animation, and this text piece is about 9 seconds towards the end. Everything looked clean while scrubbing thru the timeline, as well as in a RAM preview. But when I export it in Media Encoder (my usual method) OR within AE, random pieces of that text are popping in and out of my entire Master comp for 1-6 frames, every second or so. I've been using AE for over a decade and I don't recall this ever happening like this. My troubleshooting has included exporting out just the alpha'd Particular piece, and replacing the Particular comp with that. Then clearing out all caches, deleting the previous AME folders, reducing project so that Particular comp isn't even in the project anymore, and restarting AE and the computer. There's no indication of a problem until I export. Then that stupid text is popping in and out again. Interesting point of interest that may be

Hi, I’m trying to do something with AE Expressions and they’re not behaving the way I expected. Any Expressions gurus who can advise me? The problem is with seedRandom. My expectation is that if I make a duplicate of this comp, the randomness shouldn’t change because I am using seedRandom. But it does change, and I don’t want that. Did I code something wrong?

Hi! I have a problems with one script... i need a simple thing - replacing one path of the file to another.Its really easy for any footage, (little harder for sequence, but still possible).BUTHow to do this with illustrator/photoshop files that contain layers? If im apply the usual method to them, which I wrote below, then all layers in my project will be replaced with a single file. HelloWhen working in After Effects, the program cannot keep up with image caching, the following message appears: "playing from ram ..... (NOT realtime) as in the attached screenshot. When I check the load on the processor, RAM and graphics card, none of them is loaded 100% and has a large margin. I'm beyond my wit's end, here. I have even gone into every single AE file on my computer and changed the permissions - because that's what every "solution" has reocmmended - and AE (by some miracle) opened once and is now back to not launching again. I keep getting this pop-up before it shuts itself down. How has this not been fixed? 

Hello,I was animating a bar using mask and suddenly I think if I can link a digit's  increasement  with the mask's  path.like I did with trim path 'end', I linked source text with trim path 'end' and then the  animate the digit .but now,  I want the digit to be '0' when the mask's upper point two vertex points is same as the bottom vertex points, and then as the mask grows the digit will increase along with it. is it possible in after effects. or am imagining too much?  😰

Hello. I am not very technical with this stuff so please feel free to ask any questions, as long as it can help me fix the problem.  I have been running with Adobe after effects for the last 5 months without any problems, and then all of a sudden After effects does not what to load anymore and I am constantly getting  .crashfiles immediately have attempting to open the program. I have updated my after effects to the latest version, updated my GPU (Intel(R) UHD Graphic 630) to the lastest version, tried running malaware to remove any potiential 3rd party, but to no luck.  Down below is the crash file I am getting. Hello, If my understanding about linear expression is correct then I dnt understand what is happening. My text layer (Digit layer 9,2) is moving too slow but bar is progressing at a much higher speed. I am very sad, I cant figure out what is am doing wrong. Why the text layer  is not moving as fast as the bar progresses.😥😥   

Hello everyone, my recurring problem is that the clips I have on the timeline in After Effects sometimes start to glitch in certain places. I used the FlickerFree plugin for the video and only applied Stabilize motion. When I tried to render it, I got a message that my GPU is out of memory. So I switched to "Only Mercury" and as a result it started to glitch. Hey guys, me again at this forum. How you doing?I was doing a project at After Effects, used some features to animate but nothing too much complicated (just rotating, position, stroke, and a 2D door opening in 3D feature). I am used to render a lot of complex projects in After Effects/Media Encoder, but this time it is so strange. My After Effects would render more complex projects with lights, a lot of animations and texts within 50 minutes or else, but this simple 2 minute project is taking more than that. My rendering is getting too long, takes a lot of time, but not only this, when it gets to the last frames it just frozes and won't render anymore. It is a 2 minute video, shouldn't take so much time to render and get ready. I am trying to render it since yesterday, which I had to wait like an hour to render 99% of it and when it showed that needed just more 5 second it just got frozen and wouldn't render anymore.  I don't know if it's the video - for real I checked i

Having an issue with paint strokes using Roto Brush 2 not propogating like it should. After I paint my selection and shift 1 frame, the paint stroke either starts to shrink or it dissapears altogether. I've tried switching to the original Roto Brush, and the strokes propogate like it should (not trying to using the legacy Roto Brush tool tho). - I'm on After Effects 17.6- I've updated Windows and used DDU for a clean install of my Nvidia GPU driver.- I've tried reinstalling AE- My GPU isn't overclocked I don't know what the Roto Brush 2 tool uses that the legacy version doesn't rely on, but it's weird that the legacy version works while RB2 doesn't work.
