24.3 has improved stability for me but I'm still having issues with AE stealing all the memory.  Still an occaissional crash.  M2 , 96 GB, Sonoma 14.4.1

hey guys, i just upgraded to a m3 pro macbook today and transferred my data through migration assistant. it seems like only a few of my after effects plug-ins transferred, and i'm unable to install any new ones or see some of my previously installed ones like sapphire and bcc. does anyone have a fix for this?

I want to know if there's an expression to know the time at which a keyframe is positioned on a timeline (i.e. if a keyframe is at second 2:00, I want an expression telling me that the keyframe's time is 2:00 or its corresponding frame). Can anybody help me, please?

Based on my experience with CC Cylinder, I believe it requires a Control Fold option ranging from -100% to 100%. I'm sure this would significantly enhance its functionality.any chances to achieve that in a future update?

Last night I set up a render queue with about a hundred comps that are basically the same (a 1m30s text animation, the actual text is only thing difference between the comps). First 50 took about 4 to 5 minutes per comp to render, then it suddenly went up, now taking over 50 minutes for the same kind of comp. There is a green part in the renderbar and the render is still progressing (sometimes showing a lightgreen part in the bar), but checking the info it says 'Concurrent frames rendering: 0 '. This seems incorrect. So my guess is that MFR is where it broke down somehow. But maybe it's something else, I don't know.Anyway, it's now much slower then rendering without MFR (it will render a comp in just under 10 minutes without MFR), defeating the purpose of MFR.At least for now using MFR on a render queue seems unreliable.I'm running AE 24.1.0 on a M2 Ultra Mac Studio, 128GB RAM, macOS 13.6.3.

Hello, I work in localization and my team noticed that AE is not able to render some extended-latin or hindi characters when there is a 3D animation on a text layer. Some characters appear kinda corrupted, only thing that helped so far is to convert the text to shape, sometimes change the font. However, we are obliged to follow brand rules, therefore we can't change the font for final output, and we would like to maintain text editability for future updates. Any chance this visual bug can be fixed? Thanks!

Hello I have the free trial of After Effect and Media Encoder, I need After Effect to edit some Envato video template and then I need Media Encoder to convert the file.aep into a regular .mp4 video file.The problem is related to Media Encoder, 1- I edit the video on AE2- I click on Composition -> Add to Media Encoder Queue3- it should add the video on ME and from there I click on the green triangle4- as a result I should obtain an .mp4 video, but nothing of this happens5- Once I click on Composition -> Add to Media Encoder Queue, nothing happensHow do I manage to use these tools? Thank you

in some (often) cases with shape layer with groups (or shape layer created from 'create shape from vector layer') the properties panel behave not it's used to . some kind of bug or something?i know this feature is a newborn . but this is a tusk in a meat. like, it should never happened to begin with. please fix.

Encounted UI bug while editing expressions, if the text is too big, it create this weird white space 

The last three times I have updated, After Effects has installed two of my largest plugins (Superluminal Stardust and Element 3d) forcing me to go through the tedious process of reinstalling. Why? This hasn't previously been an issue. Now, when I NEED TO WORK RIGHT NOW I am instead, reinstalling plugins. Creative Cloud has been here since 2011. Why is this an issue again?  

hello looking for someone to help me , I keep getting this file error "after effects error file couldn't be open for writing.. name of file where i want save etc.. I thought it might be the version I was using so I uninstalled 2024 and installed 2023 , same problem, while am able to work , I am not able to save my work , I am working on a mac , so please no PC fixes as that will not work for me if someone is willing tohelp thank you new to after effects pls be kind ..

Hello,I've animated a single long image (PNG) by position only. The image is of a mobile photo feed and I've animated it so that it "scrolls" upward. On the long, single PNG image, photos are laid out, one-by-one, on a dark grey background, with a tiny margin. The photos have a small corner radius. The PNG was created in Figma. In the AE project, the animation looks perfect, yet upon export, when playing the photos, tiny white specks flash around the corners of many of the photos (the white flash takes the shape of the image corner beyond the corner radius to the corner point it would have had, had the corner radius not been there).  Additionally, many of the photos show an animating white strip around the left and right edge of the photos, maybe a pixel or so wide, yet not every single image. Hello all,I have the same darn problem everytime I have to update After Effects: it wont start/ it freezes. Later on there wil be a patch/update and than the issue is resolved. However, i experiance this every single time and this means I usually can't work with After Effets for about a week. And I am tired of this.  I would apreciate any help i can get. These are the steps to recreate my problem: 1. Just try and start it......2. It wont go past loading screen 3. if it does and I try safe mode or another option it just freezes This is what I try to fix the problem:1. Empty cache folder2. Re-install 3. Install older version 4. Instal new gpu drivers5. Update gpu drivers6. Complete unistall of adobe 7. re-install of adobe8. Ofcoarse restarting the pc   

HelloI want to 3d track my footage using dynamic link with Premiere, Both version 2019! I have encountered this issue for serval attemps, it keeps initializing for ever, and then AE says 'timed out obtaining dynamic link" is this a but that comes with version 2019? If so, how can i downgrade to older versions and still run my project? Any help would be appreciated.

Hello! I am trying to fix something in After Effects and what I have heard from a lot of people is to go to AppData > Roaming > Adobe > After Effects and I should clear / delete that file. Does doing so affect the custom user presets that I have made, and does it affect the plugins too? Will something bad happen? Thank you.

Hello, I've been using after effects for years, the 2023 update made text editing and rendering really really slow. I sometimes have to wait more than 20 seconds to see two poor words appear. (with a standard comp 1920*1080 25fps) It is impossible for me to work in these conditions. I did the same test on after effects 2022 and I have no problem, text editing is smooth and rendering is fast. So it's not related to my computer. Please fix this. 

Adobe After Effects Error: preferences file "Adobe After Effects 14.0 Win en_US shortcuts.txt" is not valid. The file will be renamed with ".old" , and a new preferences file will be created.(21 :: 31)After it says this Adobe After Effects 2017 Crashes and closes Sooo if anyone can help it will be very appreciated!! I would like to buy a new MacBook to edit YouTube videos with Premiere. Additionally, I would need to do some things in Adobe After Effects. Would the new MacBook Pro with the Apple M3 chip, 8-core CPU, 10-core GPU, and 24 GB of RAM be sufficient for this?

anyone ever ran into an issue with adobe after effects 2024 not rendering a new photo/file when the video is fully editable and you have the latest and greatest computer/software etc etc.  I am the only one having an issue as when I send it the video and files to other people they show me its working.  I show them its not working for me.  i walked through the entire process 5-7 times now and nothing.  There has to be something I am missing in a settings or version I have that isn't allowing me to do this.  I am using version 24.3.0 of adobe after effects from the adobe suites through creative cloud. it is downloaded to my mac.  It is a .png file at 300dpi, it is scaled to size....   I have tried to do this to 3 different files with no luck, but the other people have.

Hello everyone.I have a project that requires me to create a 3D stroke. I tried to draw a line using the pen tool and then enabled the 3D layer. When I rotate the layer, it's just a flat image. When I try to adjust the point, it's just another flat image. Can anyone suggest how to a real 3D line/stroke in After Effect?Example like this picture:(Forgive me if any of you don't like weeb content)
