Can someone specify the name of the effect in the image on the Effect Panel that I believe is part of the Red Giant Magic Bullet Suite plugin?

Hi 🙂 every time i try "comment out" something in my expression i get the expression error banner. Is there any other way to put comments in your code in AE? thanks!

Just updated to AE v 18.2.1 on Windows 10 - Happy to provide more specs if it will help  Basically I always used the timeline markers 1-9, then hop to them with the 1-9 number keys, but it doesnt seem to be working now. Was this updated or maybe im missing a new secondary key?

I made a hand written logo in illustrator and I am animating it in after effects to look like it is being written, revealing the logo. I am using the stroke effect with reveal original image selected. Because the handwriting has thick and thin parts of the same letter, I had to split the letters into multiple layers. However, now when I animate them, there is a faint white line wherever the layers overlap. This shows in the preview and after rendering. They do not show up in the original file in Illustrator. How do I get rid of these?

I need to use this function in a video shot in 6k. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work in a clip. Even if I precompose it to shrink it to 1080p. I mask a piece of the clip that I want to replace, create a Reference Frame, click on "Generate Fill Layer" and then either it shows up and is empty or it doesn't show up. So I save and click on close and AE crashes. I don't know if it's still working in the background or not. This needs some indicator or I'm wasting many hours guessing that it's working in the background. Or am I doing something wrong?

After Effects (23.6)MacOS Ventura - Version 13.5.2___ After Effects keeps crashing when opening a specific project. I can open other projects without problems. I also tried opening this specific project on 2 other computers and it opens just fine. It's only this Mac. The problem occurred suddenly, never had problem with this file. I've tried uninstalling After Effects several times and that doesn't seem to resolve the issue. Anyone who can help? I also have a DMP file if that's helpful. 

I love the animation of this title from an adobe official  video.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJOtlJ1VB34 It looks like each character is individually animeted following the shape of the letter.I know how to do it manualy, but is there a way to done it automatically ? I don't think Adobe creators did it manualy for each title. So is there a way to batch the process ? Cheers,

Hi all, As of yesterday I am suddenly having an issue with dragging and dropping items in the project window (I've attached a small video to illustrate this). For example, dragging a file to another folder doesn't work on all folders, only some. Dragging a file onto the new comp from selection icon doesn't work. Restarting or resetting the preferences has no effect. It's not ciritial to my work at the moment but it is extremely annoying. Is anyone having similar issue? Any solutions out there? Many thanks. – AE23.6.0 running on Ventura 13.4 on a MacStudio M1 ultra with 128Gb of memory.

As the subject says I cannot move any compositions (not already in or the compositions themselves) into new compositions and additionally any files or folders throughout the project panel. Windows 11 Professionali9 9900K128 GB 3200 DDR4RTX 3090AE 22.3.0 (Build 107)LG 5K2K Ultrawide Deleting all RAM and Cache does nothing. Resetting preferences does nothing. Thankfully I found this YT video that helped me find the keyboard shortcut to bring them in but yeah, weird and annoying bug. Let me know if I should delete and repost somewhere else! If not can anyone advise? Thanks!  

A few issues with the Audio Spectrum effect: 1.> The Audio Spectrum effect will not respond to an audio layer (the Source of the effect) that uses a boosted Audio Levels value when that audio layer is in the same comp as the layer that uses the Audio Spectrum effect. (For example, a comp with 2 layers: (1) a solid layer with the Audio Spectrum effect, and (2) a sound file layer. The Spectrum Effect is using the audio layer as the effect Source, but the Spectrum effect is not strong enough, even with "Maximum Height" at max value. Boosting the Audio Level value of the audio layer has absolutely no effect on the Audio Spectrum effect. However: 2.> When using a pre-comp layer that contains audio as the Source of the Audio Spectrum effect for a layer in the same comp, the effect will react to a boosted Audio Levels value when the value is modified in the pre-comp; HOWEVER - if there are any cached frames of the Audio Spectrum effect, a Purge > All Memory & Disk

I have issues with the last version. I tried to launch the app in safe mode but it's wont let me even clic on the safe mode window. It crashed. I installed a earlier version, same problem! Anyone with this issue? 

hi i have a slight issue with after effects. everytime i try to render preview to see my stuff it renders like 5-10 frames and i can hear my pc working and then out of nowhere my pc stops working and the render stops, if i click anywhere in the timeline the preview window goes gray. i added some more effects but idk, i have a wery good pc so that shouldn't be the problem and i set AE to use alot of my ram so i'm  a bit confused to why this happens? any tips? i run AE 2022 as my plugins don't work with 2023 when i tryed it out

Hi, I am just starting with after effects and and expressions... Sorry if this is really basicI am trying to create a rectangle with expressions, but cannot work out how. I would like to be able to set the width, height and position of the rectangle. The idea being to duplicate the layer many times and change values for each layer.What would be the best way to do it?Thanks!

 Im creating subtitles for a kids show and using a csv import to do that. Im struggling to get ñ and sometimes apostrophes to show up. Any thoughts?

Hello all.I have create a logo from Illustrator. This is just a simple logo of elipse shape and text, i named it Logo LS.ai.I want to create this logo become 3D, to do this i import this Logo LS.ai to the AE project, create a new composition, and drag this Logo LS.ai to the composition.Then i create a shape by doing right clicking Logo LS.ai -> Create shape from vector layer.'Create shape from vector layer' command doesn't create shape of text. Why?So, in my Illustrator, i convert my text 'LS' to shape, by doing Object -> Expand.Then i import and doing the same again and it works.By converting layer to 3D in Ae, adding some extrude and adding light, it works great.BUT, i want to change my logo to white,so i change fill of my logo to white like below :Look, 'LS' with white color not 3D. How to make that text 3D too?Thanks.

Hi,I have three backgrounds that I would like to rotate 90 degrees in parallel. Unfortunately, they are not aligning correctly. I suspect it has to do with the perspective, but I can't find a solution.I also tried using Null-Objects, but unfortunately, I got the same result  

I've been trying to fix this problem for two days now and I urgently need a solution, please somebody help!I open my project and scrub through the time line and everything seems to be ok, but the moment I add a new layer or change something in the composition, the preview pane freezes. Some particularly weird things then happen - if I pre-compse the composition, it begins to work again, but if I open the pre-comp to try and add things to it, the preview window flickers black and the frame is frozen.if I have objects moving, I can see the frame of the object moving, but the actual preview is frozen. I am running the After Effects 23.6.0 and I have just updated my GPU driver (RTX2060) on Windows 11 I have also tried booting up in Safe Mode and it still happens, and I have uninstalled and re-installed the app twice. In addition to this, I've tried changing the Audio Hardware option as I know this can cause issues and I have disabled the Harware Accelerator. Please help as I

I am trying to link a Premiere Pro sequence through Adobe Dynamic Link to After Effects and add it to a composition so I can overlay animations. The sequence links in just fine -- I can click into the footage in After Effects and view it. But when I try to insert it into the composition, the footage will not go in. For further context, there are other linked After Effects compositions IN the Premiere Pro sequence itself, so maybe that is the issue but I don't know. I would appreciate any feedback. I have attached a screen recording of the issue.

I've been running into this problem a bit latey and I don't know what's causing it. I'm keying this piece and when it came to removing the blue spill, I can't seem to get this to look right. When I use the eyedropper tool on that blue highlighted area at the top of the shoulder, it's almost entirely a neutral grey. But it still looks blue. I assume its just that the rest of the video is warm that the grey looks blue, but what can I do to make that highlight blend in more and not look so blue?

I am making some sort of lottery app that draws a winner every 48 hours which I made with Parse. Only the problem is that the code to check if the 48 hours have run out cant be on a phone because there is no permanent connection with Parse. Is there a way to have a script continuously running on Parse or on the Parse open source Server with MongoDB?Some ideas taken from loterias de ayer 

When editing text, I frequently need to click outside the text box for the updates to take effect. Occasionally, it can take a few seconds for the changes to appear. This can result in a somewhat sluggish experience when editing text within animations. I am utilizing Adobe Fonts, and there are no additional effects applied to the text.Best regards, Poul
