After Effects

I have an effect with slider and checkbox, the idea is to get current time variable and apply it to the slider when checkbox is switching (by keyframes or expressions), I was able to create this functionality using PF_ChangeFlag_CHANGED_VALUE, but it works only if I manually click checkbox, so the slider is not updating if checkbox is changing by keyframes. Is there a way to do it correctly?Thanks!

Why is my "pencil" tool not rasterizing and when I scale it still pixelated?

Hi,In After Effects version 2023, when using the reshape effect (to create a morph between two masks), the morph is not done correctly, as you can see in the image below. In previous versions, this is done well. Is there a solution. Okay I have no idea how to better formulate this or even search for this:I have several vector shapes that I turned into shape layers in After Effects. And the bounding boxes of those shapes are only surrounding the shape, as they should - but when I want to apply an effect, for example corner pin, the bounding box is suddenly the size of the whole canvas.How do I get the pins to be on the outside corners of the shape and not the canvas? I hope the gif clarifies what I mean.... 

I made a short 10 second AE composition and exported it (via collect files).Now I import this short composition into a larger composition...but.... it looses it time sequence completely. How can I use the 10 second composition somewhere in the timeline of the larger composition, so that it lives on its own?

HiThe draft 3d and motion blur boxes are not displayed on individual layers. This screenshot  shows my software where it is only possible to ​click on a "general" box and this screenshot from a recent Youtube tutorial where they are displayed individually. Consequently it is not possible to display the X, Y and Z orientation options.I am new to After Effects so I hope I am not missing the blindingly obvious. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello, ich habe folgendes Problem mit der aktuellen Version von After Effects: Sobald ich in einem Projekt eine Farbfläche erstelle und in die Timeline lege und diese abspielen möchte, erhalte ich diese Fehler Meldung: after effects fehler null nenner vergleiche verhältnisse 17 und 16. Die selbe Fehlermeldung erhalte auch bei einer Einstellungsebene oder psd und ai Datei.Dieses Problem scheint sehr neu zu sein, da ich bisher noch nie zuvor eine derartige Fehlermeldung erhalten habe.Für jeden Tipp bin ich sehrdankbar. Viele Grüße,Martina

I am writing a jsx script.This script uses app.scheduleTask to display a clock that updates every second.When I close the project or while waiting for a modal dialog to close due to an error in another script, if I get an update to this script, I get "After Effects error: Can not run a script while a modal dialog is waiting for response." and the script will stop completely.Is there any way to work around this?

in my 27inch monitor everything is looking very small what is the soultion

I've been having trouble trying to import a custom made mogrt file into Premiere. The mogrt file was made in After Effects on an office Mac and I was able to save the file in a location and import it with no problem but the case could not be the same when I opened the Premiere project on my home PC. When opening the Premiere file on the PC I was greeted with the 'media offline' message on my timeline but at this point I didn't suspect a problem as this is normal for me to switch between Mac and PC and re-link any new assets. When I tried to re-link the mogrt file on the PC the message 'file import failure - Adobe After Effects 2023 must be installed to import this file' appeared. This doesn't make sense to me as I've already got AE installed on my PC and after updating it and Premiere via Creative Cloud I still had the error message come up. I also tried re-exporting the mgort file into my Adobe Libraries folder and after dragging it from Libraries onto the timeline and again

A review of the particle generator for use with Adobe After Effects.   Boris FX offer a free, standalone version of Particle Illusion, which is the product I'm reviewing here. There is a pay-for upgrade, but you don't need that to get some pretty impressive results. I'm not affliated with Boris FX in any way. I made this video to shout about PI as I think it's pretty cool and I've made it my mission to share information about any free resources I find. I am writing a jsx script. When I dynamically rewrite StaticText, the text is aligned to the left.I believe this is because the alignment of the text in StaticText is left-aligned (like Paragraph in the text layer).The same is true in EditText. The text is drawn left-aligned to the bounding box.Is there any way to center this?

I am writing a jsx script.I would like to save what is written in edit text, etc., to a project file.Is there a better way to do this?I am having trouble with "app.settings.saveSetting" because it saves to preferences, so I can't have different data for each project file.

I created a project in After Effects. There are video files in it that were rendered in After Effects. All files were rendered in Apple ProRes 422 HQ. All was well. I got a new laptop a few weeks later. I have been rendering videos with Apple ProRes 422 HQ. I loaded the aformentioned project into AE, and all 19 of my video files can't be loaded into AE, with these error messages for each one: Encountered errors while opening a project.1) After Effects error: Could not open source file. Please check that file exists with correct permissions.2) After Effects error: file 'DJ J& Charcoal 1.mov' cannot be imported - this 'MooV' file is damaged or unsupported. I have opened these files in Quicktime and Premiere, and they're fine. How come After Effects (the place where they were created) doesn't want 'em?

I have my base video, and I have a video of smoke. My base video is 15 minutes long. My smoke is like 30 seconds long. The base video has many cuts with varying durations. The smoke video has no cuts. I have made the smoke video seamlessly loopable and I'm looping it over and over in After Effects. I want the smoke video to have cuts in the same places with the cuts having the same duration as the base video. I've tried getting the information about the cuts from an exported .XML file of the Premiere project, and I've been using ChatGPT to try and construct a script that will make the smoke video layer jump forward every time the base video cuts. Is this possible?

I want to make a orbit-like animation where a bunch of shapes revolve around a center graphic. To do this I want to move them to the correct position, then move their anchor points to the center of the comp. I haven't found a way to do this 100% accurately. Thanks!

Hi, I'm editing a big project with r3d files in 6k. All fps settings are the same. I colorgraded them with Lumetri but somehow a lot of weird stuff happens when exporting:- Many scenes are suddenly strongly pixelated (see screenshot).- The video and audio become out of sync.- When exporting from AE as JPG sequence, some frames suddenly are flipped horizontally and shifted. My software versions are the latest. Is this something that will be fixed in the near future or is there a workaround? What's going on?!
