Animate

Hi.With a createjs app I change some graphics, reupload the files but in CHROME, the same button keeps appearing. If I launch in FIREFOX, it's updated.So, I can tell it's the cache. Is there anyway of solving this. I can't ring up every teacher or parent every time I update the app.

Is there advantages to starting in ActionScript 3.0 then converting to HTML5(canvas) other than updating a legacy Flash file? Thanks

So i made a series of animations, all the same but with different measurements and one of them keeps giving issues. When i publish it using the default standard i get - sometimes - a working page but when i open it from the folder i use to save my files it's a blank page. I just noticed when i look in dev mode under console (using chrome) i get the following, which i don't get with the other animations. Hi, I'm starting a somewhat daunting project of converting a Flash file to HTML5 Canvas.  I'm taking it line by line, but I've run into my first issue I can't figure out. It's pretty simple.  On my main timeline, I set a variable called startX:    var startX = 10;Then I bring in a movieclip from the library:    var arrow1 = new lib.arrow();    this.addChild(arrow1);Works just fine.  arrow1 is there, and the code inside it runs.  I just can't reference startX:    this.parent.tracer.text = this.parent.startX;The tracer is a text box, and that line works fine with something like this.parent.tracer.text = "arrow clip"; so that connection is fine. Why can't I reference a variable I set in the main timeline from within the movieclip?

I have a video I want to embed into my project but when I do it shows up on my stage as a black rectangle, and in my library as a static'y image.I've tried multiple .flv files.How can I fix this?

Hi, I'm trying to create a motion tween of an object which is quite long but can't achieve this due to the x position isnt able to go pass -5760. Is there a way to resolve this issue?

Hi, I know there were problems using Animate with Big Sur at the end of last year, does it work now?  I'm using Animate 20.0 and I think I need to install Big Sur on my Mac for both software and hardware reasons (recently the fan works a lot, way too much) but I keep delaying the installation of Big Sure cause I need to keep using Animate.Blahblah.  🙂 Thank you! 

Hey there, I'm pretty new to Animate. I made an animation for a customer who wants to share it in Znstagram and Facebook. My animation has 900x900px and 15.5 secs and if I export it I get huge files (30MB). Is that fine for social media? I don't even know what format is ok. I used MPEG2 - Match source medium bitrate. I have no clue what is the right thing… Thanks, Tommi

I have a .mp3 file which is part of the timeline of a movieclip symbol and triggered from an action on a button. I play this symbol from frame 1 and then audio kicks in along with timeline and then I can stop it with another button.However, the audio is not working in Safari desktop, works fine in Chrome/Firefox, iPhone and randomly some iPads but not others.Anyone got any ideas?

Hi, everyone! This question is very much "I'm a web dev novice and don't know what best practices are", so please bear with me! I'm semi-familiar with Animate and it's functions, but have run into a road block when it comes to using the HTML5 Canvas in a larger HTML project (what is essentially personal/educational front-end development). I can impliment the interactive bits just fine (I tend to cut out the Canvas code and paste into the desired page), but the resulting code is super cumbersome; perhaps there's a minimalist/optimalist in my brain that looks at the mess I made and thinks "surely there's a better way." There is a lot going on under the hood to make these animations work (and my Javascript knowledge is meager at best), but how do you manage both implimenting Animate online... while keeping the pages relatively legible and clean? Is there a best practice when it comes to this kind of thing, or is bulky code the unfortunate norm?  Thank you for reading!

I have followed the steps of a tutorial exactlyCreate shape > fill > select fill > copy fill > erase fill > new layer > paste fill > make layer maskHowever when I do it for some reason the fill keeps going over my lines and I don’t know whyIs there something I am doing wrong? even when i am noting creating a mask the copied fill pastes over my lines instead of in them

Developing canvas apps is becoming such a pain in Animate - as the IDE of Animate itself does not use the GPU, or let us set Memory Usage.When I am making a BIG canvas project - I need more memory for 100s of complicated movieclips and tweens. I need to use my 2080Ti graphics card -- I can use them in Photoshop, as seen:Come on Animate team -- please talk to the Photoshop team and see how to add this feature!

Hello guys,I have been working on animate/flash for 20 years now and I must say that the new interface poses a big workflow problem. I am forced to work on the 2019 version.I saw on the forums the disappointment of some like me and that the necessary would be done for this new 2021 version but it is not. the problem still exists.have you planned a fix for this because it worries me? thank you for enlightening me !bye !

If you open a .FLA, make no modification, but run the "Publish" command, the .FLA acts as if it has been "modified" in some way. This makes no sense and is pretty problematic because: 1. You have no way of knowing if you actually changed the .FLA at all. Did you maybe move something by mistake? Toggle a layer option? Or did you only produce an output and the original file is 100% identical to what it was before? No way of telling. 2. This wreaks havoc on version control. Is there any way to turn this off? Animate 21.0.4

Hi, so basically I've been slowly working on this animation for over a year and I tried to export it and it gave me a weird error. After it would get done exporting in animate, it would move to media converter, except everytime it got to that process media converter crashed. I did it a few times, then restarted my pc, when I go to open my original animate file, there were no frames, layers, etc at all like if it was all deleted. Only thing left untouched  was my audio.  Does anyone know a fix for this?  P.S. it's also happened to a few older versions of the same file (but less progress) and I never even tried to export them and it did the same thing. Somebody please help me.

As the title says, can i draw the graph by mouse click on the animate? I draw a grid on animate, and then I want to click on the grid, draw a point and then join them together to create a line chart. Can I do it on Animate?This is how I want to do it. 

Im working on my own mod for Friday Night Funkin and im trying to fill in a color for the body, but it wont fill and its frustrating. The head and body are seperate layers if that helpsIm using Adobe 21.0.5 and im on Windows 10 

Hello, I've never really posted on forums like this for any software or app I own for the simple fact it always looked so complicated for those posting questions.  That said I have a question about adobe animate; it's not too complicated. So I am trying to work on a rough animatic.  I have in the screen shot, 3 frames. the 2nd frame is empty where the play head is located on the time line. I have activated onion skin with the parameters shown to the left of the scene window. The previous or 1st frame faded like I expected it to. However, the 3rd or Next frame infront of the play head did not fade. This makes it difficult to draw in the 2nd frame in bewtween the 1st and 3rd frames. My question is how do I get the 3rd frame to fade like the 1st frame? I have screen shots of the comp info and software info attached along with a screen shot of the issue I detailed above.  I've tried drawing in the 2nd frame and the third frame still wouldn't fade. Hi,I have a project where I have a keyframed symbol where some parts of the timeline need to be motion tweened and others not. I achieve this by duplicating the segment following the motion tween and then unsetting the motion tween for the next segment. This all seems logical and a reasonable workflow.If I adjust the length of the segment, sometimes - most times, the object jumps a few pixels when the timeline is moved onto a keyframe. If I check the transform values, they are identical, but there is movement - between .5 - 3 pixels roughly. This seems to happen more readily on keyframes that are rotated from their initial state on that first frame, but can happen on keyframes that have been completely default.Any help much appreciated. 

Hey! I'm using Character Animator for like the first time and I've had an issue with my lip sync. All my mouth shapes are correctly rigged to the right sounds when I speak or try to use visemes, it shows the wrong mouth. For instance, ill click on the M mouth and it will show the L mouth

I Currently changed the coding of my intro scene to test the functionality of the current scene im working on (scene 4). I have a button that takes the user from scene 4 to scene 5. It swittches to scene 5, but nothing plays, no audio none of the frames or anything. Currently scene 5 has 0 coding on it. Please let me know if i can provide anything . thanks ^^ 

I'm looking to use a rectangle selection area so I can define the virtual camera better and be able to place things like watermarks that move with the camera, such as a top and bottom border. How can I do this if possible?
