I'm studying Audition and the lessons is to synchronize the audio with video. But when I import the video it shows with some kind of filter. Print below.
I don't have much affinity with Audition, nor audio in general besides basic effects and SFX since i'm more of a video editor. But I'm picking up editing audio with podcasts in particular. Now I had already a few encounters where people would Tsk every other sentence or don't come out their words properly and that was really dreadful to edit since you have to slice off enough that you don't hear it cut. But now I got a guest that stutters on a lot of T's, N's and the "ch" tone. How you edit the audio? Do you let the stutter just occur or are there quick and good methods to edit out the stutter (as much as possible)? For now I tend to cut up longer stutters to shorter and shorter stutters mid-sentence I just let play out due to hard cuts.
I'm having a baffling issue with the Delete Silence feature. I am editing a podcast with 4 hosts. My process is to do every bit of editing and production needed, export a mixdown, and then do one final "Strip Silence" pass. I do this to shorten the editing time of slicing in the first stage. The problem is that today for some reason, Audition is detecting huge sections of obvious audio segments as suggestions to delete. Even pushing the Define parameters to the extreme is not yielding the correct results. Any ideas what's going on here?I need to note that the silent segments are areas that I COMPLETELY trimmed out in the first stage, so they are maximum silent. Usually they are very simple and obvious to detect. I'm running the latest Audition on the latest Mac OS. Reference Images Below

Hello...What is the problem I need to solve in this audio file? It sounds windy but this is in my room. The room is quiet but not at a studio level. I used to do recording here. It was not this bad in the past. How can I fix this? I would appreciate your guidance. Thank you in advance.
Hello forum!. Looks like auto crossfade is grayed-out only for ONE project here... Cannot find how to re-activate it and I'm quite in an editing hurry for that project today, so asking for help... Auto-Crossfade is checked in Audition's preferences... No keyboard is assigned to toggle aut-crossfade ON or OFFI am also noticing that the "front" / "Back" state of overlapping clips is not reacting properly anymore... I mean when I click on a clip that is mostly "behind" another one, Audition does not bring it "front" anymore... When opening another project, everything works as expected... troubles seems to be hapening in ONE project so far. To complete my editing tasks today, this behavior is a real nightmare... what am I overlooking? I'm stuck. All of my apps and Windows are up-to-date. Thanks!
Yo gangsters, I'm editing my podcast and find myself continually making a sekection in the waveform view, then using the dB wheel to drop it to -96dB. This is a two mic sretup, so I'm using it predominantly to remove echo from one speaker's mic as the other is speaking and vice versa. Is there either a keyboard shortcut that can do this, or is there some means of removing the timbre of one person's voice from a clip?
I was working in Audition 2017 cc last week, my free trial ran out so I had to buy the newest Audition, which for me was 2021. The default input and output were correct in the 2017 version as I had just recorded for my podcast last week. However, when I go into 2021. The headphones are not showing up as an option. My goal is to hear myself talk while I record, but it is not doing that. However, when I playback the recording it is going through my headphones. I really need help because I am behind schedule and I am getting frustrated that I can't figure out something this simple.
What is the edit effect so the dialog track is modified so the voice is sounding like its an emcee speaking on a microphone before an audience in a nightclub?
I used audition to extract the soundtrack from a video which has 5.1 audio and when I open that wav file in audition I can see that each channel has a label to the right (L, H, C, LFE, etc.) (click here to download file 1) (screenshot below). However if I create a new file with multiple channels (click here to download file 2) which is basically an upmix of the above audio file from 5.1 to 7.1.2 and then I try to name the channels manually on the right by right clicking and assigning each channel to a speaker (L, R, C, LFE, etc.) and then save it back to WAV (file 2 here), when I reopen it, all channel information is lost and all the tracks go back to being numbered 1-10 (screenshot below). This is really annoying. I am sure I am doing something wrong but I can't work out what that is. Could someone please help me? The output does not need to be in wav format as long as I can retain the channel information when adding this audio file as the sound track in programmes such as P
I have Audition installed on my primary laptop where everything is stored, and on my spare laptop that i use to record way across the room. I also have a DAW desktop, where I have Cubase, on which I really cant use Audition to do my sample editing because Audition is limited to 2 devices. Then I think about how Ive paid $240/year just to be able to use Audition, over $1000 so far for one program, to use it for my vinyl ripping. It is the best for that but this is really expensive for an individual user/hobby person. Everybody says I have lost my mind to do this. Is it still true I cant put Audition on my third computer even after throwing all my money at Adobe like I do? It would be a dream but I keep thinking here I am at the DAW and I cant use my $1000 program, its awful. thx!
I am experiencing an issue with opening Adobe Audition. What shall i do?
Hi allI asked this question back in March and October 2021 but didn't get any response so I'm posting again in hope..... I have CC2022, 2021, 2020, 2019 and CS6 on a Win 10 pro build 19044.1526 (which I believe is the latest, 21H2).The OS is set to use 2019 by default. Until about February 2021 all versions happily coexisted, and I could open a sesx file from file explorer and Audition would open and load the session. Then something changed (probably bl***y Microsoft) and now I can only open a sesx file from within an opened 2022, 2021, 2020 or 2019 instance. If I use "open as" from the explorer menu I can open the sesx only in CS6, the other 3 just open Audition ready for me to then open a sesx file.Everything else is fine, all 5 versions behave as they should.Obviously I have checked file associations etc and I am quite happy working in the registry. My guess is that M$ have changed something and in their usual arrogant fashion decided not to tell the great unwashed.Anybody h
I don't get levels, it doesn't record, nada. (See settings in pic) I've tried the clock as the mic and the external headphones, nada. I've restarted Audtion, I've restarted my computer, nada. Naturally, customer support that is 24/7 at their number just refers you here on the weekends. I need to figure this out and its driving me nuts cuz I'm dead in the water with my work till its figured out! 😞
Hi! I am new to recording and Audition. I accidently recorded some takes I liked where I had the input set for stereo on an interface with more than one input and now it only plays in one of my ears. Is there a way I could make that same audio play in both ears? Meaning can I split the mono file into a stereo file so it can play on both sides? I was able to fix that setting once I realized I was recording incorrectly but I still have the serious audio that I am hoping to use from that. Thanks so much!
My MacBook ran out of disc space so Audition locked up. After freeing up some disc space Audition now maxs out my CPU (viewed on Activity Monitor) so I Beach Ball stays. I updated to the latest version and no fix so I uninstalled Audition and Installed Audition again. The problem still exists. Any idea what the problem could be?
Hi All, I am trying to record a podcast in Audition. What I want to do is listen to the music in my headset while I am recording the verbal audio. Something like a recording studio; when the singer is in the booth and has the music in the headset to keep the time and beat. How do I do this? tia
I have adobe audition cc 2017. I tried making a custom favorite. The pre-made favorites work but my custom did not. If I try to apply my custom favorite to the audio I get a message that says, " The recording time selection could not be applied." What do I do?? Any advice is greatly appreciated!!!
hello, i recorded a podcast with a friend and we each had a microphone. for some reason when i saved the audio it saved as two separate files; one from each microphone. they are both the exact same length and everything, i'm just trying to figure out how to merge them together. i'm really new to audition so it's very hard to use for me. if whoever answers this can dumb it down a bunch that would be great lol.
The subject pretty much sums up my problem. I'd like to darken the waveform colour and it works in edit mode however in multitrack mode iwhilst the colout changes it stays stubbornly bright - in fact it seems like there is only version of each colour in multitrack
Let's say I had a distinct recurring sound in a recording and wanted to find all instances of that sound. Think of, say, a crow's "caw!" Is it possible to select/sample one "caw" in the spectral display and have Audition find all other instances of "caw"? Similar to the find feature with text but with audio, presumably with some fuzziness since sounds don't match bit-for-bit.
Hello! While using CableGuys Halftime and Atares autotune pro in Graph mode I noticed that thoses efects are not rendered or render incorrectly in the final mixdown. They do work while playing back the audio in the mixer but when rendered they do not work. Both are licensed and are working in any other DAW i use. I use a MacBook Pro (16", 2019) with Adobe audition 14.4.I already tried to replace them with the VST version instead of AU. If anyone already had this problem or have any idea of how i could fix it! Thanks in advance.Have a nice day 🙂
Everytime I try using Audition it crashes, Freezes and hangs, it doesn't matter what I do in the Multitrack, Waveform editing, using the Effects Rack or just simple edits.
Hey guys, I need help!I've been mixing a 2 host podcast with occasional guest. Before I begin, I've been matching clip loudness to -16LUFS, and then adding all my plugin effects until I get the desired levels and sound. I'm running FabFilter plugins, and the order of my chain is EQ, Compressor, DeEsser, and then Limiter. On my master bus, I'm also running a set of stacked Compressors and a Limiter as a final safety. As I play and edit this show on my multitrack timeline, all the levels and tones sound great. I'm obviously not clipping anywhere because each track is running solid compression and limiting between -1 & -2 dBTP, as well as my master limiter at -1dBTP. The trouble is, when I export this multitrack mixdown either as .mp3 or .wav, the exported track levels in some areas are drastically different, and some are grossly clipping. I've tried adjusting the "default panning mode" in the multitrack preferences to no real avail. I've tried exporting in mono and stereo with no
