Audition

I've been an Audition enthusiast since 1998 (since the old Cool Edit Pro days, long before Adobe bought Syntrillium).  I'm one of the few professional film sound editors who uses it daily (if at all) as my primary DAW.  I have loved and defended Audtion and its capabilities for decades now, despite the fact that colleagues routinely make fun of me for my refusal to have jumped on the ProTools bandwagon, all this time.  Audition has suted my needs, very, very well.But now, unfurtunately, it's having serious problems, and costing me a LOT in terms of time, money, and client relations.  After nearly every action I take, whether it's something as simple as a click to move playhead, or something more complex like a spectral edit, the program hangs for 5 to 15 seconds.  This has been going on for weeks now.  It's absolutely maddening.  It has forced me to work at only a tiny fraction of my usual editing speed.   I'm currently 3 weeks behind,

Hoping someone might be able to assist me with some audio recording issues I'm having with Audition. When recording audio, on playback, the initial volume is very quiet for about 15 seconds, then it gradually increases in volume. Any idea why this might be happening? I'm using a Logitech USB headset 540, and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Audition. I've also checked my recording levels on my computer which were set at 80 and after reading a post, changed the right to 100 and the left to 0 which seemed to work for someone else with this issue, but unfortunately not me. Any suggestions would be appreciated! 

We're having a strange, intermittant problem.Audio is recorded into a multitrack session without issue. We listen back to it to confirm everything is fine.But, once it's saved, the audio becomes slowed down. The actual file length becomes longer and the audio becomes very slow and crackly. The is true for playback in Audition and other programs. As I said, it's intermittant. The studio is used for class work, so 10-12 students will use it consecutively and 1-2 will have this problem. We can't figure out any rhyme or reason. Help!

Effects> Special > Vocal Enhancer> ? The Male and Female choices are not there. Have they been moved or removed?

I have one of my producers working from home and trying to use Audition through Remote Desktop on his local PC in our facility.  While PC playback audio can be heard at home (I'm testing now from my home with youtube) you can't get Audition to map to Remote Desktop, only to the previous default output which is the local speakers in the facility.  He would like to edit in Audition and hear it at home.Additionally, he has a mic at home and would like to source that as an input and then switch to a local stereo buss recording off an app on his PC.  Any thoughts on ways to setup his PC at work to allow him to send and recieve audio through Remote Desktop. 

I am having a major issue with sound in Adobe Audition. Whenever I attempt to turn up or down sound, everything disappears. I now have a file that appears to have been recorded but there are no decibel levels. How do I fix this, so I can hear the file? You can see down the bottom the levels are non-existent.   

Hello, All.I used Audition a few weeks ago and did not have any issues.However, I had to change my subscription plan, and when I logged back in, Audition, when launched, gives the spinning wheel of death, with "Not Responding" in the title bar.I've left it running for about 10 minutes, without change.I uninstalled and reinstalled and still have the same issue.I used Resource Monitor.When opening the "Analyze Wait Chain"It just says:Adobe Audition.exe is not responding.There is no other information included and no chain.What has happened?SpecsDell M6800Windows 10 Pro (Latest)Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4700MQ CPU @ 2.40GHz 2.40 GHz20gb Memory(Dual Graphics)Intel HD 4600Nvidia Quadro K3100MAll Adobe products and their cache are running from an SSD drive.Plenty of drive space remaining.

How do I record from youtube straight into adobe audition

Hi....we use Audition (PC) very simply...just 2 tracks with voice spots on track 1 of MT and a music track on track 2.  We then just use keyframes to bring down the music volume b4 a voice spot...and then back up to 0db after.  That's the easy part.  We mixdown to 22K16 as it's intended for use with telephone systems. We have a large client who is asking for something where we: 1) pre-produce a bed file with spots and music mixed down leaving one minute starting at 5 seconds in from start for a voice spot file as "space" to drop in a spot file.  The bed file is 22K16 PCM wav2)the voice spot file is pulled in from a folder (22K16 wav)..and will never be longer than 60 seconds.3)the voice spot file is to be placed at 5 seconds in from start over top the bed file.  There is nothing but music from start to the one minute mark of the bed file.  The spot file CANNOT overwrite the bed file...it sits "on top" of the bed file 4)the spot file is to be

I just successfullly installed Adobe Audition 1.5 in my new windows 11 computer.  It ran fine in my old windows 10 computer.  The sound quality seems good in W11, but there is annoying hum sound underneath my voice when I record myself. I've attached a WAV file of the hum by itself.  BTW, I use a Soundcraft Notepad-SFX as my interface.  The exterior mic  goes into a  dbx 286s compressor and then into the Soundcraft interface.

I want to copy and paste beat markers on a track. Once i have marked the first 5 or 6 beats on a track its laborious to keep marking all the way to the end of the track i should be able to copy the first six the continue pasting that would give me a more accurate row of beat markers. Is there another way to accomplish this task?

I'm sure this has been asked, I just can't find it. I have never done it or been asked to give a little reverb in the monitor headphones with some reverb, How do you setup to apply some reverb to headphone monitors when tracking vocals?  I know it will only record a dry track and thats exactly what I want. Effects are added in mix..... Thanks

I currently have an Adobe Creative Cloud account, and I'm wondering if adding Audition will result in an additional charge, wether it's a one-timr chargr, or monthly. What if I switch to the Student and Teacher plan?

All my Waves plugins have suddenly stopped working after being fine for several months. When I refresh the effects list it says waveshell1 isn't working. I have the newest versions of both the plugins and Audition but still the same problem. I am using Windows 10 Home. Please help! I bought a subscription to the latest version of Adobe Audition but it has more issues than my old version.  I only use Adobe Audition for voicing and editing my voice work before submitting to my employer.  Should I just go back to the old software if it has less issues?  The latest version may work fine and suddenly the voice sounds as if I'm speaking through a tunnel.  This has never happened with the old version.  The only problem I had recently with the old software is the disappearance of a phrase that I could record again.  The new software doesn't do a "re-record" as smoothly as the old version.  So, my question is, if the old software works better than the latest version and since I never use all the advanced and sophisticated features that Adobe Audition offers, can I go back to using the old version?  Thank you very much for your response(s). 

I want to do this:  1. record 15 minute spoken audio with my tired old voice 2. run it thru software and change to nice female voice 3.  record that changed 15 minute audio so I can upload it a blog/website.  So this not LIVE change like free crap for video games.  I've heard free software that will change to the female Windows girl's voice which is nice but no way to take recorded voice and then record the changed output.Anybody know if the 2 Adobe programs will do this decently??? Doesn't have to be perfect, but decent.  If they don't is there ANY PROGRAM by anybody else that will work????? I tried the free stuff and it doesn't work.  THANK YOU.  If easier I might be able to live with a man's voice that sounds younger and more energetic if that will work better.

Hello all! I've been searching everywhere and I can't seem to find a tutorial or an example of how to achieve this. I'm wanting to record vocals with a delay (so I don't sound dry while recording) then when recording is complete I want the delay turned off without having affected the raw recording. Can anyone please explain to me how to do this? I'm a newbie so maybe specific steps could be mentioned if possible? Thank you so much in advance!

hi,  i am kinda lost.i am running the latest mac OS (intel, 12.2.1) and the latest Audition release (22.2) and all of the sudden my auudition is producing error message after error message: $$$/dvacore/logging/ExceptionLogging/UnknownError=Unknown Error no matter what file I try to open (Audio file, session file) - even if i create a new file the error occurs. it occiurs on ALL my devices (macbook pro, mac pro). I am kind of stressed out here because i cant get anything done and i have deadlines! since i am a corporate user the help button referes me to our own companies helpdesk but they don't really do adobe...... i tried installing older versions of audition - always the same......any one else with this problem? i found some other treads with "kinda similar" problems but they are really old and there was never a solution in the treads..... any hint is gladly appreciated..... thanks! ben

Having popping and delay issues on 2022 Audition. This was recorded through an interface and microphone. It was an audio file (not multitrack). Previous posts said to deselect smart monitoring on multitrack preferences but it was not selected and I was not recording in multitrack. Any suggestions would be great. This just started happening today.

Hello,I have an audiobook /mp3/ wich have after each section an annoying monkeys sound. All is the same. Hello, I've been using Audition on my Mac desktop for over 3 years. Yesterday and today I've been having an issue which has never happened before. I'm using Audition v22.2. I have an iMac 5k 27 inch 2017 desktop with 24GB RAM.  I started a new multitrack session and then imported some MP3s that I use for my podcast intro, outro, and other audio fills. Audition says it needs to convert them, so it does that and they appear in the session, then I add them to the timeline. I've been doing this for years no problem.  However yesterday and today, everything goes haywire from this point. Either:1) The tracks are still processing and time out when I drag them on the timeline. The message that appears is "Reading MP3 Audio, waiting" Application doesn't respond and RAM use surges. This has happened a couple of times. 2) They appear no problem, but when I try to play the session I get the Mac spinning wheel thing and the application doesn't respond. RAM use sur

Hi everyone. What's the best microphone setup for recording clean dialogue for youtube videos? I'll be editing in Premiere Pro. For the most part there will be just sitting and talking and I want a mic that can pic my voice up from any angle and works well with Adobe programs.Thanks!

Audition 2022 Build 22.2.0.61 When I record a new audio file and click the record button, the waveform in the editor is zoomed in completely at times. This happens randomly and in most occasions, clicking the record button shows a normal non-zoomed-in waveform.  I'm not fluent in Audition so I've attached links to a couple of videos that show Audition recording normally and with the zoomed in waveform. I've also attached the video files in case the links don't work. Has anyone encountered this issue before? Is there a setting I can manage that will prevent this zooming into the waveform? Any help is appreciated.
